Excellent overview of a very tragic period of history.

Broken down a very complex topic into an easy to grasp but still detailed text. Would have been useful when I was studying the war for A levels!

A concise but informative account of a period of history which was only superficially covered in my school history lessons. Judicious use of images to add impact to the text.

This presents the reader with the full background and buildup to the USA stepping into war in South East Asia in the 1960s. It relates to the history of the area including the French occupation. This is a very detailed and interesting account of the always unwinnable conflict.

It's easy to read, well laid out and very informative. A useful book to have on your reference shelf.

A nice little book on a potentially massive subject. As usual, very hard to read on the NetGalley shelf app though.

This book goes into the history leading up to the US involvement in Vietnam from the provision of weapons to France during the latter part of their colonial rule to the direct intervention by US forces. The research has obviously been painstaking and reading from the very outset reminded me of a formal reference document in its approach to this particular conflict. The descriptions and photographs enhance what could have been a ‘dry’ topic to some readers however, those interested in military history will find this book fascinating in the details as described by the authors.

An excellent and concisely written novel about the war in Vietnam from the time of the French occupation till the fall of Saigon. The book is a quick read and tells not only of the battles fought, but the social and political aspects as well. A great read for the history fan.

A good, quick guide to the Vietnam War. While quick, it is also quite comprehensive, and provides plenty of information, examples, and exhibits to illustrate the history of the war and region.

A good place to start, if you want to learn more about the Vietnam War. (Also recommend Ken Burns's documentary series, if you can get it.)

Captures the lead up to Vietnam war and the after shocks, what happened in the country and what we saw globally came to life. Very well written and easy to get through, visual supporting information also. Even if you only know a little about this war, you will really enjoy this book. If you know nothing then this book is the first go to reference book. Thanks #NetGalley for the copy to review.
