I didn’t want to put this down to go to bed so it was a good job my kindle needed charging or I’d have been up all night! Sheryl Browne certainly knows how to keep you hooked from the very first page to the very last word. This story has a brilliant premise, and portrays so heartbreakingly the trauma of having a sick child, the pressure this puts on a marriage, and the importance of organ donation. The research needed to write this must have been immense but the medical side always felt authentic yet not overwhelming. A tense, emotional rollercoaster full of secrets, twists, lies and blackmail. Who is the liar and why does Olivia look so much like Poppy? I didn’t guess, will you?

If you like stories in which secrets, lies and manipulations threaten to torn a family apart, this book might be perfect for you.
In spite of my aversion for hospital scenes (of which there are quite a lot here, between the father's job and the little girl's illness), and even if I found some of the parents' conversations (or "non-conversations") frustrating at times, I enjoyed the plot and its twists enough to retain an overall positive impression of the novel.

The Liar’s Child took me on a journey and I’m still thinking about it now. I felt every bit of pain and each obstacle that Kay and Matt were enduring. With young daughter, Poppy, being so sick, this really added to the tension. I can only imagine the level of research needed for this book and fully appreciated every bit of it.

When Olivia came into their lives, it was like, WHAT? That’s where the secrets and lies came into it all. So many of them too. I found myself hurrying through to find out what was going on and my oh my, they were huge!

If you love a psychological thriller with so much at stake and giant helpings of family drama, then this book is perfect. It’s both white knuckle and heartbreaking at the same time. It certain had me reading into the early hours as I couldn’t put it down!

Loved Sheryl Browne’s previous novels and looked forward to this one. I’m fine with misunderstandings and miscommunication between characters to move the plot along but felt that this story relied on what was unsaid and misconstrued to be the actual plot. Started well with a good premise but felt more could have been the storyline.

I was hooked right from the beginning info this novel full of secrets and twists. It was simply fabulous. I devoured it.
Poppy and Kay. Kay and Poppy. Poppy belonged to her, didn't she?
I loved the character of Kay. She was a deep character. She was really thought provoking. I loved the way Sheryl creates characters.
Another thing I loved about this book is it's length and narration. I finished it in one sitting.
Prepare yourself for this book because it will keep you awake whole night.
Read this novel to know what a great twist it contains.

They always some somewhere in the world is your double. When Kay meets her daughters new best friend she is taken aback, they could be sisters but how could that be. Had her husband Matt been unfaithful, did she really know him. At the same time Matt also had some trust issues concerning his wife. This book will immerse you right at the start, you won't want to stop reading it.. I would highly recommend this book.

The Liar's Child is primarily a family drama with a mystery and a bit of a thriller. Kay and Matt have a sick little girl named Poppy. A lot of the book is about her health and the rest is about the stress, misunderstanding, and lack of communication between the parents. On top of that we have more thriller stuff and a mystery.
Another girl who looks just like Poppy shows up and then the question is who's their Dad? Is it Matt or his brother, Jason? I thought I'd figured this out and was wrong!
Blackmail, a murder mystery, other health crises, work trouble, and a fire are also part of this clever book. The big question is who's the Liar mentioned in the title of the book? You may not figure that out till the very end.

Although I wish the beginning was a little shorter and the ending a little longer, the ride in between was insane! Suspenseful, heart wrenching and intoxicating.. The Liar’s Child had me doubting everyone and flipping the pages as quickly as I could to find out the ending. Great read!

Totally recommend for anyone who loves the crime genre

I was so excited to read this as love this authors books and everything else gets put on hold when I have a new book from this author to read. As always with this author the liars child takes you on a journey of a suspense filled read full of lots of twists and turns and edge of your seat moments. I was hooked from the first page and couldn’t put it down. The story interwove a web of deceit alongside the heartbreak of caring for a sick child and also dealt with the topic of organ donation in a very sensitive way.

The multiple POVs by which this tale is told adds intrigue. You’ll be drawn in with the suspense, unexpected turns, twists you don’t see coming.

OMG! This drew me in quickly and there was that instant tension of a drama unfolding. An incredibly well thought out, very original plotline and one I had not foreseen. I turned ever quicker and devoured this- the sign of a gripping, well written read. A captivating, rollercoaster of a book. Loved it.

A twisty story full of misunderstandings and lack of communication especially between the main characters. Sheryl handles the effects of the desperation that watching your child being seriously ill brings as well as the impact of how important and pressing Organ Donation is . Such a great read that kept my attention from the first page.

The Liar's Child is a solid three star read. On the positive side, I enjoyed the multiple POVs and the overall story. Conversely, I was able to predict the majority of plot twists from the start, which made the book seem very long. As the reader, I had already pieced together everything that was going on, so when the characters kept missing the clues or not communicating with each other, I was more frustrated than motivated to keep reading. I prefer thrillers that keep me guessing.

I enjoyed this tense psychological thriller but I thought it was a little bit rushed at the end. There were several questions that needed answered throughout the book and I'd have liked a few more chapters instead of everything being explained at once.. I thought that the way each chapter was written from the point of view of the different characters made them more realistic although I have to admit that at times I wanted to take Kay and Matt and give them both a good slap for not talking to each other. Although if they had there would have been no story. This was the first book I have read by Sheryl but I will be watching out for her name in the future.

I drop everything to read Sheryl Browne's novels.
I devoured this as I always do.
Wow what a ride!! So many twists and turns and then more that you didn't see coming.
She is a master at her story telling. She draws you in till the very last word.
Amazing is all I can say. I can't get enough.
