The Selling Point is the second book in the Chammont Point series by Marci Bolden. This can be read as a stand alone, but I think you'll get more enjoyment out of it if you've read The Restarting Point first.

This book centers on Darby Zamora who is flashy, eccentric and beats to her own drum. She's had a lot of different jobs and currently she's running an online wedding dress boutique that's filled with dresses of brides who ended up cancelling their nuptials for one reason or another. She really wants it to take off and so when she's given the opportunity to go on a podcast hosted by a famous podcaster, she couldn't be more thrilled. What she ends up getting out of that is much different than what she was expecting - the nasty comments start rolling in on the website and on social media calling her out for capitalizing on other people's misfortune.

Darby doesn't quite it see it the way those sharing their opinions do, but during the upheaval, she turns to her two best friends, Jade and Taylor, who help her through all that is happening. We also get to see a very different side of Darby. We begin to understand why she's the way she is and that there is a lot more to her than what she typically shows to everyone in her orbit.

There were a few times I wanted to shake Darby, as I felt like she just couldn't see what was right in front of her, but that was one reason too, why I love the friendship between Darby, Taylor and Jade so much. In their own ways, Jade and Taylor helped Darby to see how the way she was thinking about things might be contributing to some of what was happening. It showed the power of having people in your corner and being thankful for those that always stick by your side.

This was another wonderful offering by Marci Bolden and I'm really looking forward to the next book!

The Selling Point is Book 2 in the Chammont Point Series by Marci Bolden. This book is about real friendships between three very different women. The first book, The Restarting Point introduced all three friends but focused on Jade’s story. This book is Darby’s story. Darby is an quirky girl, dresses like she right out of the 1950’s. She is an unlucky person and always acts before she thinks about anything and ends up in the most peculiar predicaments! Their friendships and loyalties leaves them only a phone call away from each other which is very good for all of them! They are always there from each other. Bolden has a gift in her writing skills as she will always make you feel like you are right there with her well developed characters. She will take you to Chammont Point and you will not want to leave! I have read quite a few books by Marci Bolden and have enjoyed each and everyone of them. I highly recommend this heartwarming story and recommend you read this series by her or any of her books! You will not be disappointed!!

What Marci Bolden does so well is write real women, with real issues, real feelings and real self-esteem issues and doubts. This story is no different. If you've read The Restarting Point you will already be familiar with Jade's story and how Jade, Darby and Taylor become friends. If you haven't read it, this story will give you enough background that you won't feel lost. The Selling Point centers on Darby who marches to the beat of her own drum, at least to those who don't know here. But deep inside, the outside is a cover up to protect her from the pain of her past. She finally feels like she has her life figured out when the bottom once again falls out and it's not at all how she ever expected it would. She has some major soul searching to do but the love of her friends will help her get through it, although it may not be exactly as easy as she hopes. I saw plenty of myself in Darby, including the faux pas that she didn't realize would be so damaging. Heartwarming story of friends who stick by each other even when they want to be left alone to wallow, knowing that eventually the answers can be found in the stars.

I love books about deep female friendships, who accept each other's flaws and mistakes and celebrate their achievements and successes, both personally and professionally. These three friends frequently find themselves at Harper's ice cream shop when things get stressful, for therapeutic talks over ice cream sundaes. They also know the value of gathering and chatting in their cabin community over a grilled dinner prepared together, movie night, or S'mores around a bonfire.
I read this book first, but I want to go back to listen on audiobook to The Restarting Point, the first in the Chammont Point series. It focuses on Jade's story, and I want to revisit Chammont Point again and see what's next for friends Darby, Jade, and Taylor.

Darby Zamora developed a website “the Un-Do Wedding Boutique” to sell bridal gowns that she made and was not paid for as the weddings were cancelled. When asked to appear on a pod cast about her unique business, she agrees. Her unplanned remarks as to why the weddings were cancelled has produced negative comments on her website. Shouldn’t she have known that in a small town like Chammont Point, that others would connect the cancelled wedding to the bride thereby causing further embarrassment for the bride? Her friends Taylor and Jade tried to explain to her the unintentional harm that she may have caused, but it took too long for her to grasp that reality. In the meantime, Taylor is concerned about having difficulties obtaining contracting jobs while Liam is ready for Jade to move on to the next level in their relationship, but is she ready? I enjoyed the story, but it seemed to dwell too long on Darby’s refusal to accept what she had inadvertently done. This is the second book in the Chammont Point series and focuses mainly on Darby. Darby is a flashy gal who owns a bridal gown business. In her attempt to sell gowns that ended up not being purchased due to the weddings being cancelled for various reasons, she discloses the stories of what happened to the brides (without giving names). Her friends, Jade and Taylor try to reign her in, but she joyfully tells the stories in a radio interview and instantly becomes a pariah on social media, with the nasty comments showing up faster on her site than she can delete. The depression that has plagued her off and on during her life rears it's ugly head and sends her into a tailspin.

The story tells her struggle with coming to terms with how others see her actions as inappropriate and as taking advantage of the misfortune and heartache of others. She has to turn deeply inward in order evaluate the reasons and results of her actions, her resulting depression, as well as the reasons behind her brightly colored hair and her unusual choice of clothing. It's a painful journey, but her friends support her and in the end she faces the fact that she needs help with her depression.

This could definitely be read as a standalone, but I strongly suggest starting with the first book of the series.

If you want a feel good story about friendship and love between 3 friends then this is the series you just have to read. I so enjoyed the first one and this one focused mainly on Darby- so freakin good!! Such an easy read and you feel like you are right there with them, I love how they are a phone call away when Darby needs them, they offer advice, build each other up and offer to tace care of anyone who tries to hurt their friends. An amazing story that warms the heart! Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for this amazing story!!

This is my 6th book I have read by this author her books are really good I enjoyed this story I hope you pick up your copy and check out Her stories they are really good. I have enjoyed each book.

This is book two in The Chammont Point Series and it is Darby's story along with her best friends Jade and Taylor who have there own problems to cope with and it is definitely a must read. Darby has a on line clothes store and needed some help to make it more popular to bring in extra money so she filled out a form to present her on line store The Un-Do Wedding Boutique on The Noah Joplin Show and Darby was delighted her business was selected and Jade and Taylor were going with her for moral support but just when you think everything will be alright disaster strikes and Darby is thrown for a loop when things go from bad to worse and Darby with the help of Jade and Taylor needs to look at everything in her life and decide what to do next. Darby has learned a lot about herself and it was really great how much Darby grows as you read through out this book. Jade and Taylor have there own problems but they are still there for Darby when she reached rock bottom. These three friends are so different from each other but the support and love they have for each other regardless of the situations seriously makes your heart feel so full. Marco Holden is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and on the edge of their seats and I can't wait to read the next book in this amazing and and I definitely recommend you read this book but remember that you will need to read book one first to get all the background history but it is definitely worth it.

This book is the second in the Chammont Point series, but don't let that deter you. There are enough background details included that you can easily catch up with Jade, Darby and Taylor!

The focus of this installment is Darby Zamora, the owner of an online bridal boutique. She sells dresses that she handmade for brides who then cancelled their ceremonies for various reasons. While Darby doesn't use their names on her website, she does provide details about the reasons the ceremonies were cancelled. Thinking nothing was bad about that marketing scheme, Darby applies for and gets invited onto a local program and repeats the same stories to a much larger audience, prompting lots of negative comments online.

While I enjoyed the book and the way it all resolved, I was a bit annoyed at Darby, who I liked in the first book. She is in her late 30's, yet she sees nothing wrong with the way she writes about her former customers. She was a target of bullies all her younger life, but doesn't see what she did as bullying, or even just mean. It disappointed me that it took her 1/2 of the book to realize what her friends were telling her from the start.

Looking forward to the next book to see how life changes now for Jade and Liam, and for Taylor's story.

The Selling Point is wonderful. This is the second book of the Chammont Point series and is primarily focus is Darby. Darby is somewhat of a hot mess with not much direction in life and always changing. She is uniquely wonderful and so full of life. You get to know a whole different side of Darby that will give you these feels and a better understanding of why Darby is the way she is. You feel for her and how not always sees the bigger picture. You will love the support of Jade and Taylor in this one as Darby navigates her business. There are plenty of those feeling moments when it comes to these ladies that you will just love. I love the spunk Darby has and your heart hurts for her with everything thing she goes through. I love getting to know Darby, Jade and Taylor a little more in each book. I'm so looking forward to Taylors book next. I love this series so much. You have such strong ladies who may be down on their luck lifting each other up and creating an amazing bond. Darby's sad story!

The Chammont Point Series is about the friendship of three very different women. This book is about Darby, the one who looks like a 1950s pinup girl with bright red hair and dresses from that era. Darby always acts before she thinks, therefore, getting herself into odd predicaments. But the one that has her thinking over her life's choices is when she starts the Un-Do Wedding Boutique where she sells the wedding dresses of the weddings that didn't happen and she posts the story for each dress ... not realizing the damage this will do.

We hear about Darby being bullied in high school and the effect it had on her ... which was very realistic, I just thought that the point was repeated way too often. Although I enjoyed the story, I just felt like it could have been more. I must say i liked the first book (which was Jade's story) better. But I will be excited to read about Taylor, the tough one who is a contractor.

Reading the original book would be useful in understanding the characters and setting more, however, I felt I really got to know the characters and the setting was beautifully portrayed. Another wonderful read in the Chammont Lakes series. This book centers on Darcy and you find out more of her backstory. I love how the friends stand beside each other through thick and thin. This is the second book in the series . The book centres on three women who became best friends in the first book. Jade who is divorced, Darby who loves to dress in 50’s clothes and Taylor a carpenter and contractor. This book has Darby as the main focus while Jade was the main focus of the first book. You don’t have to read the first book to read this one but it would help to know the characters better. Each woman is extremely different in personality, lifestyle and style of dressing which adds to the story and makes them realistic. Darby struggles to find something to do for a living and jumps from one thing to another. This time she feels she has found her calling but things fall apart drastically and she needs all the help she can get from her friends to survive. The author gives us a deeper look into Darby’s life and what has happened to her in the past. In the first book she was a barrel of laughs but this time she has changed a lot. I understand delving deeper into her life but the story came across as sad and depressing. Her situation seemed to be dragged out until I was tired of hearing about it. I feel her storyline could have been handled differently so that one would cheer for her instead of thinking, just deal with it. I definitely enjoyed the first book more than this one.

I really enjoyed this book. It was the second book in a series and I haven't read the first book, but I was still able to enjoy this one.

I enjoyed being back in Chammont Point with Jade, Darby, & Taylor. They are encountering more changes in their lives. The second book centers mostly around Darby, who grew up being bullied and did her best not to be noticed. Darby hasn't had a lot of luck with her business ventures. Her latest one Un-Do Wedding Boutique is struggling. So, Darby fills out an online form to get a guest spotlight on the Noah Joplin show.

Things do go as well as Darby hopes unaware that the stories she is sharing are hurtful. Jade & Taylor try to get Darby to see a different perspective. It's not until along with some positive comments on her sites, there's some nasty ones. When an old high school classmate reaches out and asks for an interview, Darby jumps thinking she can explain and repair some of the damage. This time, things are even worse and Darby just wants to hide. Darby does a lot of soul searching and sets out to make amends.

Jade still wounded from her divorce pushes Liam away to the point that Liam breaks up with Jade even though they weren't together. Taylor's business is struggling and she's getting pity jobs. She is thinking it's time to look for other job opportunities.

I love how they all gather around one another to support, and I smiled at all the ice cream runs. Ice cream makes everything better, right? I like seeing Darby's growth in this book. I laughed how a little nudge from Darby and Taylor, literally sent Jade flying to overcome her indecision. The ending foretells another adventure among all three friends and I look forward to see where it takes them in the next book in the series.

This book tells Darby Zamora's story, but it also tells the story of how she became who she is today. As she created her online bridal gown business, she came to some realizations, that not everyone liked her selling points, and some really hated them. Darby at first couldn't understand, but her friends, Jade and Taylor, helped her see things differently.
Once she could see things differently, she had to make some choices. One of the choices she made was to apologize to those she hurt, but there was also she chose to have a meeting with the ones that had hurt her. A lot of good came out of it, but Darby was good at coming up with ideas on how to make a living, but she didn't have a business sense. She learned a lot of things along the way, about herself, why she was the way she was, but she was also struggling to fit in.
When she decided to close the bridal gown online website, she came up with another idea for her and her two friends to go into business together. I enjoyed the book because Darby, Jade, and Taylor, stopped and looked at themselves, who they were, who they were now, and who they wanted to be in the future. Sometimes, they had to admit they made a mistake, and they had to find a way to make it right, because they didn't like feeling the way they were feeling. Sometimes they had to find the courage to go for something. It just seemed like such an honest way of living life.

I am a huge fan of Marci Bolden's but I did not enjoy this book at all. I felt as if Darby was being portrayed as a bird-brain, not being able to deal with anything or figuring things out on her own,. The other 2 characters we ok but I still felt as if something was missing with them too. Hopefully the next book in this series is as enjoyable as the rest of Marci's works.
