Very twisted thriller. Told from Jen and Rhonda's point
of views, Jen is struggling to cope after her husband
died in a terrible accident and her best friend Rhonda is
at her side trying to help. Jen suspected Jeremy was
having an affair and is distraught to realize she will
never know the truth. Rhonda is having a hard time
learning more about the man who she believed was a
friend to her family.
Now a new man has showed up in Jen's life. He holds
scary, dark secrets that the women are trying to
unravel. Will he be the death of them?
You won't want to put this book down!

Gosh, this is such a tense and thrilling book!

When we first meet Jen, she’s a GP who has just returned to work after the death of her husband, but as the story develops, we realise that there’s much more to the story than that. Jeremy is missing, presumed dead, but all was not as it seemed in their marriage before he disappeared, and we soon find out that almost everyone in this book has a secret..

The story is told from Jen’s perspective, and Rhonda’s, her best friend, with an occasional very chilling chapter from the past. As the pieces of the plot begin to link together the tension really ramps up, and it’s almost unbearable at times.

Quite a few of the characters in this book are far from likeable, but this really adds to the authenticity. It’s a dark and disturbing plot, but very cleverly woven, and it makes for a completely compelling read.

I found this a very hard book to put down, in spite of it being quite unsettling at times. It’s just one of those books where you have to keep reading, desperate to find out how it’s all going to end.

Highly recommended for all those who love a tense and twisty thriller.

First of all., nothing like a good cover. Grabbed my attention straight away. There is 2 different timelines in this book and it is told by 2 different POVS. The book kept me on my toes . The pace started off really slow and just after half way it really picked up.

This is a book which has captured my interest from the beginning. I love how this is written. It is filled with a mix of characters and has been a book I have been unable to predict.

I received an eARC of The Trapped Wife by Samantha Hayes from Bookouture and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
I gave this book 2 stars. Jen's decisions were frustrating and the story missed the mark for me. I struggled to get through this one.

What the what?!?! At first I was getting confused or frustrated with the switching back and forth and didn’t really understand who Evan or Mac were or why this story line was added … there was so much going on and I had difficulty figuring out the connection but as the story built that became a part of the mystery too and then I just wanted to know if I was right / what was going on the last half is def better and quicker going! I don’t want to give any spoilers but I thought so many things that turned out to not be it or correct and the ending was not what I had expected at all didn’t see part of it coming in any way shape or form …. It is a good read with a different set up and build than most I have read. I would love to hear your thoughts and see if you figure it out before the end ! So many good twists - well played

I should probably start with how much I love Samantha Hayes' books! She is one of my favorite authors. I was so excited to be gifted The Trapped Wife and it did not disappoint. If you read Ms. Hayes, you expect twists and turns and lots of finger nail biting moments and this book was all of that!
The characters were so well described and the whole time I had the whole "movie" in my head.
I hate when people give a whole review that basically gives the entire story away so I won't do that. Isn't that the worst! Its a review, not a book report! Just know its twisty and effed up and so awesome!
But, I will say I already told a few sisters and friends about this book. 5 stars!

If you're a sensitive reader, check reviews for TW.

This is a very dark, twisty novel about Jen who is balancing being back at work after losing her husband, raising her teenage son, and a patient she gets a weird vibe from.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

Dr. Jen Miller is back to work after she lost her husband Jeremy six weeks ago while on a skiing trip in Switzerland. She is also pregnant because of a one-night stand she had while at the medical conference in Oxford and now that the guy, Scott, shows up at her practice and wants to be a part of Jen’s and the baby’s lives. Can Jen trust Scott or does he have ulterior motives ?

The Trapped Wife by Samantha Hayes is a fast paced psychological thriller. . This book was certainly not what I was expecting, a story that twists and turns so fast and so abruptly that it made me question everything that I thought I knew.

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I applaud this book as I spent most of it thinking I knew the twist and then right at the end, BAM, I did not see that coming! Great read, well written, I recommend it.

First book I have read by this author and I have another new favorite! This book was so good! Told in past and present tense, you are kept wondering who the characters in the past are now in the present (one you know). But every time you think you have it figured out you get another little nugget that makes you rethink what you think you have figured out.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you NetGalley, Samantha Hayes and Bookouture for this edition and hearing my honest review. Looking forward to reading more with you

Another winner from one of my favorite authors. If you like quick paced reads and lots of twists, this is the book for you. Go ahead and read all of her books, because while different subjects, they are all twisty little mysteries. Great escapism books! No spoilers here, just go take a break and read it.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and most of all Ms. Hayes for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

The Trapped Wife did not disappoint from one of my favourite authors. A cleverly written plot with strong characters and the twists are superb.
I just wanted to keep reading to find out what happened next and get to the end. Dark and tense, just what a good psychological thriller should be.

An interesting story, albeit slightly overdone. I love this author and would read her again. I just wanted a bit more
