Wow this would make such a great Hallmark movie to snuggle up with just before Christmas. Wonderful setting with quaint shops and great characters and an adorable dog. Through in a princess vibe and I’m totally sold. Will re-read once the tree is up at Christmas.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
This book was so endearing. Kaylie finds out she is jobless but her former boss gives her a chance for a special assignment only she doesn’t know the assignment involves a Royal family.
You will definitely fall in love with Alex and Kaylie. She has a wonderful sense of humor and even though Prince Alex is very guarded Kaylie brings out the best in him.
Lots of doubt and twists throughout my this book but a very well written story in my opinion.
4.5 stars

I was lucky enough to receive this as an ARC from Hawktale publishing. Omg I love love love this story. Such a simple romantic princess story. What's not to love.
Echos of princess diaries. Fantastic written characters with a lovely intro and back story.
Second book I have read from Karen and look forward to reading more.
Read in a day sitting by the pool
This is what makes holidays

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Kaylie used to enjoy Christmas with her family when she was younger. As she got older, she grew to hate it and offered to work it every year as a reporter. She is offered a job to write a Christmas book about the royal family in Europe. Her first meeting with the prince does not go well. This is a great read to put you in the holiday spirit. Can't wait to read her next one.

A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale by Karen Schaler. As I am reading Christmas stories I think I can never find a Christmas story better than the last one I read. This story about the royal family is filled with love, Hope friendship and joy all the things you need to find at Christmastime.

When New York City reporter Kaylie Karlyle receives a freelance holiday assignment in Europe, she's certainly not expecting it to be with the royal family of Tolvania (who she's never heard of) or to be writing a story book instead of hard hitting journalism.

Add in a prince who she gets off to a bad start with, a kind but interfering Queen and a storm a what could possibly go wrong?

Karen Schaler is a master of beautiful holiday romances, but as a Journalist, Kaylie's character grated at me slightly. The descriptions of Tolvania however were the pure magic I've come to expect from Schaler.

All I can say is Wow!! What an awesome story. I just could not put the book down. It had me from the beginning with such awesome characters and a good story line.

Kaylie loses her job as an Investigative Journalist not long before Christmas. Finding herself unemployed with no plans for Christmas or her future. She tries to decide what to do.

Her ex boss offers her a job doing an article about a families Christmas traditions. When she gets to Europe she finds she is writing a fairy tale for a Royal Family.

I wanted to love this book so much, the cover is gorgeous and the synopsis sounded interesting. The writing was good, and I liked the characters, but it was so saccharine sweet and ultimately predictable. With some romances, you have a idea how it will turn out, but the journey the characters take is worth the read. In this case, there was zero suspense from the beginning. It was very Christmassy, and the traditions were interesting, but the Xmas atmosphere wasn’t enough for me. 3 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I've officially found my new favorite Christmas book!! I read a lot of books in this genre, so this isn't an easy feat. I cannot say enough good things about this book. It had fairy tales, a winter wonderland, endearing characters (who doesn't love a prince and workaholic), and so many dreamy Christmas traditions. If the book setting was a real place, I would be booking my flight right now. If you love Hallmark Christmas movies, then you MUST absolutely read this book. I'd give it 10/5 stars if I could. I'll definitely be re-reading it multiple times during the holiday season.

A feel good book wrapped up in Christmas magic. A royal family, a palace and a fairytale village celebrating Christmas traditions bring together love, loyalty and forgiveness. A beautifully written book that I enjoyed and would definitely recommend. Just don’t plan on doing too much once you start reading as it’s impossible to put the book down.

I so adore a good love story set at Christmas. Even though it is the peak of summer and blazing hot, I wanted to curl up with a blanket, fire, hot cocoa, and read this book under the sparkling tree lights. City girl meets royal family and chaos is bound to happen. This had Hallmark movie written all over it. Keep more like this coming!

I love a Christmas story and Karen Schaler's are delightful. Taylor has lost her reporting job and goes on a secretive journey to Europe. There she learns she had been hired to write a Christmas fairytale for a small country's princess. Of course, it comes with a handsome prince and a lovable dog, Blixen (Blitzen?).
A fun story full of traditions and you even get recipes!
I feels like a fairytale itself as it moves to a HEA. This would be a great Hallmark movie. Perfect setting, lovely characters, quaint shops, and wonderful traditions. I can almost taste the chocolate and smell the gingerbread. Thank you, NetGalley!

A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale is a sweet story about Christmas traditions in the country of Tolvania, and a royal family, including the very insightful queen, a darling princess, and a very handsome prince. An investigative reporter and acknowledged Grinch, Kaylie accepts a feature writing assignment over Christmas to write about the many Christmas traditions celebrated in this European country. During her assignment, Kaylie discovers the magic she's been missing in her own life and a little romance as well. This is a heartfelt, feel-good story that is sometimes very predictable but wonderful nonetheless. There are also some great recipes at the end.

I do enjoy a good Christmas story. I loved all the traditions that made up this family and towns Christmas. How fun to have a book about them! I would love to visit Tolvania at Christmas time. Throw a city girl reporter and a royal family together and what could possibly go wrong? Loved the story and the characters. I really like Isabella and Blixen, but they were all wonderful. I think you’ll enjoy it too. I received this book from NetGalley, but my opinion is my own.

I love a good love story but especially if you throw in Christmas! This was a great story that left you wishing it was Christmas time right now so you could hear Christmas music and see Christmas decorations.

When Kaylie Karlyle, an investigative reporter lands a unique assignment abroad with a reclusive royal family, she discovers the true magic of Christmas with the help of a lovely princess, a dashing prince, and a modern queen. Tasked with writing a Christmas fairy tale for the young princess, Kaylie must learn about all of the family’s Christmas traditions, forcing her to confront her missing holiday spirit while opening up her heart to the handsome prince. The sparkling tree topper in this story is that as both Kaylie and the royals begin to trust each other, the true meaning of Christmas begins to shine forth leading to a happily ever after…

This is the first Christmas book I have read apart from children’s classics, and it was cheesier than a holiday fondue, yet charming and delightful. Once I was able to get past the unrealistic story and corny dialogue, I discovered a sweet, innocent, and endearing story underneath all of the saccharine descriptions of Christmas trees, cookies, glitz, and glamour. This is a light read and uplifting, the perfect book to put you in the holiday mood. It definitely has the formula for an enchanting cozy movie which I hope it will become. I also liked the recipes included at the end of the book which I would love to try. The gorgeous cover and feel good description of the book is what made me want to venture out of my comfort zone and read it. I am glad I had the opportunity to read and review this dreamy story because it made me feel warm and fuzzy inside and was an unexpected page turner!

Overall, I am not sure if I would venture into the holiday genre again, but in spite of that, 'A Royal Christmas Fairy Tale' made me dream a little and for that reason, I think its red and green glitter must have sprinkled some holiday magic on me, which is exactly what it was supposed to do.

Thank you to the publisher for providing me with this free ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book is straight out of a Hallmark movie and full of lots of feel good moments! It is a perfect book to read on a cold day cuddled up in front of a fire while doing some relaxing and a book I definitely enjoyed reading. The characters were interesting and Blixen the dog was fantastic.

I got this free in exchange for an honest review. It is the first time I have read this author but I will be looking out for her books again. I really enjoyed the fact that you could relax into the story and immerse yourself in the world of Tolvania.

Cannot wait to see this one made into a movie! Schaler has a gift for crafting sweet, fairy tale romances set around the backdrop of Christmas, and many of these have become beautiful Netflix films. This one is no exception. In a seemingly improbable plot, we have a struggling journalist who winds up next to a prince who has completely sworn off reporters...and of course they fall in love. As the title states, not only is she writing a fairy tale...she is living one.

Firstly loved the cover and the title.
A charming Christmas village, a storybook castle, a royal ball, and a gorgeous prince are the last things New York City reporter Kaylie Karlyle expects to find on her holiday freelance assignment to Europe. But when the family she’s interviewing turns out to be the royal family of Tolvania, Kaylie has a meltdown when the quirky queen wants her to write a Christmas fairy tale for the spunky, young princess. Kaylie must battle the princess’s father, who doesn’t trust the media, and her own insecurities about writing anything beyond the news.

To spark inspiration for the fairy tale, the queen recruits the prickly Prince Alexander to show Kaylie the family’s most spectacular royal holiday traditions. And sparks definitely fly when the only thing Kaylie and the prince agree on is that they’re both more “bah humbug” than “ho, ho, ho.”

But somewhere between sleigh rides and snow angels, merrymaking and mistletoe, upside-down Christmas trees, and a legendary Christmas crown, Kaylie and the prince open their hearts to Christmas and start believing in themselves and each other. It’s a real-life fairy tale in the making until Kaylie discovers a secret about a royal Christmas heirloom that jeopardizes everyone’s happily ever after. Can the magic of the season save this holiday happy ending?

This book is perfection.
I loved the emotions this book puts the reader through. Stunning absolutely stunning!
