As a-kind-of-trying-but-kind-of-failing vegetarian I often struggle to find new recipes which are appealing, easy to follow - and that don't include Mushrooms (Due to an allergy)

This cookbook meets all three of my requirements! Whilst some recipes do include Mushrooms, many do not and with a large variety of different cultural and regional dishes, including Italian, Mexican, Moroccan and Asian offerings, there are options for everyone!

Each dish is professionally photographed and with easy to follow instructions and helpful conversion guides in the back of the book, each dish can be attempted even by the most novice of cooks!

I've found some new favorite dishes in this book!

Thank you to DK Publishing & NetGally for the opportunity to check out these delicious veggie options!

This cookbook focuses on vegetarian recipes, with some also being vegan, from different cultures but focusing on using Australian ingredients. It begins by discussing the virtues of vegetarianism, which would be useful for those considering altering their diet or just wishing to know more.

Throughout are high-quality photographs of the meals, providing inspiration and motivation. While they all look great, the recipes themselves are of varying standards. They require many ingredients- some of which are difficult to source in other countries- and are better suited to occasion or 'weekend' cooking, as opposed to daily food preparation. This is fine but is not stated anywhere.

However, the recipes are well-written, with easy to follow steps.

Awesome: I can finally try some veggie recipes without being scared I would miss on some nutritions. Liked some of the meals, like in every cookbook: hit and miss but I am glad I tried it ;)

I hated vegetables when I was young. They were unappetizing, soggy and boring. If I had been served these colourful dishes as a child, my love for vegetables would have begun much earlier. A variety of cuisines are represented here: French, Japanese, Mexican, Moroccan and more. Included are tips on where to find ingredients and which can be substituted.

I made four of the dishes: Japanese cabbage pancakes, grilled vegetable & capsicum relish subs, Broccoli, mustard and cheddar hand pies and the homemade flatbreads. The recipes were easy to follow and delicious. I plan to also make the broccoli pizza with courgette. I particularly like the recipes for sauces, dressings, yoghurts, stocks and dips which look mouthwateringly good.

The only dessert I was interested in was the banana and coffee cake with caramel sauce but stevia as an ingredient put me off.

There are a lot of recipes from this book that I plan to make and I can definitely see them becoming favourites.

Let me start by saying that I am not a vegetarian. However there are some amazing looking recipes inside the covers of this booked.
Filled with beautifully vibrant photographs, it is a joy to look through the pages, and while there were many recipes that just didn’t appeal to me, there were many more that did. My particular favourite, I think, is the chilli bean pie with cornbread topping…that sounds so delicious that I want to eat it right now!
Vegetarian or not, this book is definitely worth a look.
My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review.

I found this book very user friendly. It has a very clear layout both for the book and the recipes. The recipes are easy to follow and the ingredients can be found in most supermarkets. There are a range of recipes to suit every occasion from simple suppers, midweek meals and sharing platters for parties.
I will be trying the Sticky Tofu Buns, Vegetable and Ginger Soba noodles and the hearty Vegetable Cassoulet, before venturing on to the other recipes.

Overall the book is a great addition to anyone's recipe collection as it has fuss free recipes that are healthy yet not boring.

A gorgeous book full of wonderful recipes - NOT just for vegetarians as there are recipes in here the whole family will enjoy, my carnivorous family honestly didn't view the dishes as what to eat on the side of meat!

I've always liked the Australian Women's Weekly series since I discovered them many decades ago. They are interesting, straightforward recipes of whatever genre at the time and are easy to make. These days measurements are in cups (Australian cups) and metric. The vegetarian volume is as good as the others, well illustrated and some interesting ideas. Ingredients are nearly always easily available here in the UK even if varieties may not be - Japanese pumpkin/kabocha squash - use any pumpkin/squash you can get hold of. OK, not sure about spelt fettucine, in SW Scotland? I think not., but "ordinary" fettucine no problems. Recipes are tasty and full of flavour, plenty of fresh herbs. 'Tips' are helpful. Recipes include ovo- or lacto- making it clear which are suitable for vegans and others. I'd be very happy to have a lamb chop with some of the recipes but, perhaps, that's not the idea! Thanks to DK and NetGalley for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

An interesting selection of recipes from an Australian publication. There is a wide range of dishes to choose from covering most tastes. Some of the ingredients may not be available in your local supermarket but would need to be sourced online.

This is an exciting book full of interesting and healthy recipes which has updated my usual regime of recycled recipes. Even though it’s from Australia, it didn’t have any unusual ingredients that I wasn’t able to source, but some of the recipes to have an incredibly long list of items needed which can be a little off putting.
I have used the recipes when I have more time than the usual mid week rush, and would recommend this book to more advanced cooks who enjoy trying new things.

Great for anyone who is a veggie like me and loved cooking but needs new ideas. Nice to see different combinations of ingredients and mix things up a bit!

As a vegetarian, I am always keen to read new veggie cookbooks. The categories within this book were interesting, though I echo what other reviewers have said about ingredients being tricky to locate in the UK. The pictures of the recipes are mouthwatering though, and I will be trying my hardest to cook some of them.

I'm always on the look out for more vegetarian recipes to broaden my meat free cooking. I really liked the categories in the book, including lighter healthier options, snacks and food to share which are the trickier recipes to find. The aubergine schnitzel burgers look absolutely delicious and I think would be perfect to serve up to meat eating friends as well! For each recipe they have categorised them into types of vegetarians as well like lacto-ovo etc which is really handy for quick reference when selecting a recipe.

Australian Women's Weekly Vegetarian
Interesting book with some good recipes . However as reading it from the UK it looks like some of the ingredients may be harder to get hold of here rather than in Australia.
One of the lighter / snack meals contain 16 ingredients which in all honesty would put me off as the whole point of a snack is quick and easy.
