Really didn’t love the fact that the book starts with the protagonist having broken Covid rules to have a one-night stand…

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

This was.a really fun and relatable book to read given the circumstances. I loved the back and forth between the different couples, invested in how their lives were affected by the new life they were forced to live.

It might be too soon for a pandemic based lockdown rom-com, I’m still undecided but I found this story to be cute. Could possibly have done it without the lockdown element but still a good fun read. Just be warned if pandemic or lockdown triggers bad times for you.

I think this read sealed my view that covid isn't needed to be used in books as a reason or event. The author could of come up with numerous reasons for the residents to be locked in and the use of covid romanticised, was just off putting for me. The book was OK, but overall not needed.

The biggest thing that puts me off about this books is reading about a pandemic while the world was in a pandemic.

But the plot was cute I loved how all the flats were interlinked. It's funny to see how different people react in a lockdown situation.

Once I got going I flew through this one I was so invested to see how it all turns out.

Thank you the publisher and netgalley for the opportunity to read this and we'll pretend I read this back in 2021. ✨✨

I have been a Beth Reekles since the day's she was posting on Wattpad. I read The Kissing Booth when it was still a work in progress. I would rush home from school every day, eagerly jumping on my laptop/refreshing my phone to see if she had uploaded a new chapter. Back then, stories like Beth's, and Wattpad, were such a life line to me. It was so escapist.

So, for that reason, you can say I've been invested in Beth's career and her success. It's been amazing to watch her grow and find an audience. It's also been great to see how, as Beth has gotten older, her writing has grown with her. While I've always loved her writing, I can't deny how she has vastly improved with each new book release.

This one was brilliant. It was funny, emotional, sensitive. It's hard writing about a topic that is still so fresh in our minds and impacted so many of us, all in different ways - you have to treat that sensitively and I believe Beth did. I just love, the same as it was for me as a young teen, how escapist this was. I like how we jump from different characters and couples, getting a broad look at different people's experiences and lives. That added a nice layer of complexity and depth to the story.

Overall, I really did enjoy this.

Four stars.

Firstly a huge thank you to the publisher for sending me a copy of this book. I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to review

Usually, I am not a huge fan of the “locked down” novels as it triggers something inside me with the pandemic

However, the author delivers an absolute gem of a book and this book is one of the reasons that I started reading more from this genre again.

The book was just so normal and perfectly captured everything that couples were going through

I actually started dating someone in the lockdown and had to move in with him, so I resonated with this book so so much

The author captures the humour of living together, but also the “not so great” moment were presented perfectly

The book was fun and I became so attached to the characters.

I would highly recommend this book

*big thanks to netgally, little brown books & Beth for providing me with an ARC!

Considering the plot is based around a pretty serious topic, it was a really funny and light hearted read. I was afraid it was going to be a little bit "insence" considering this was all of our lives not so long ago, but It perfectly highlighted all the good points instead.

I thought the whole idea, was unique and different. It features an apartment building which has been put on a week's lockdown, and we get viewpoints from the five different apartments living there. Each apartment seemed to be going through a completely different situation which was funny to read about. I did find Zach & Serena a little bit annoying at times, but still a very enjoyable read!

It was so much fun reading about all these different personalities, trying to work out the overlaps between a few of the characters & finding out what happens!!

I was wondering how long it would take before we got a book like this. As it turns out, not long! Part of me felt like it's too soon for a story like this, but overall I felt that it was more relatable and relevant than triggering. I'm glad I took a chance on this one, thank you for the ARC!

This book is excellently written and described but I just couldn't get into it when reading. I normally like this genre however it is not my favourite. For someone who loves this genre, you would love this book without a doubt.

This was such a funny and light hearted book. I really enjoyed the layout of this book and the concept was so unique.

I thought this was a really good plot, I enjoyed reading about each individual story. This book discusses a virus which puts a block of flats on a lockdown, this might be too soon for some regarding the covid outbreak. However, I thought this was a funny read and the message I took from the book was how the characters were reflecting on things which were important to them while they were in a lockdown. I found myself doing this during the lockdowns, I valued the importance of my friendships and relationships with my family. I found I could relate to how these characters were feeling. Although, there were some interesting arrangements in some flats which were very entertaining.

This book includes so many different characters. It was nice to be able to follow a story through many different people. Although they had their own stories, they were all connected somehow. I like how the author did this because it brought the book together. I found the amount of characters manageable, I feel that any more would have made it difficult to follow.

I love how the author brought these characters to live and gave them all such wonderful personalities. It was such a fun read, I couldn’t wait to find out what happened at the end.

I ended up DNF this one, not sure if it's because I found most of the characters really annoying or if it was just that it felt too soon and claustrophobic for a lock down romance!

💕Love, Locked Down by Beth Reekles 🔐

One Sunday morning before the national lockdown 5 flats in a building wake up to a note underneath their door. The building is being locked down for 7 days due to someone in the building getting the virus. There is a one nightstand who gets stuck, a couple who have been dating only for a month, a couple who have been together 4 years, a guy whose girlfriend gets locked out after visiting her parents for the weekend and a bridesmaids wedding prep weekend group. The problem is will all if these relearionships survive the week?

I love the different relationship dynamics we got to see in this and how being locked down together affected each of them. I felt that we got to know everyone and their relationships really well.

I liked how the book took the lighter side of the pandemic as I was worried it could be too pandemic heavy.

This was definitely a fun and light read that I was able to speed through in a couple of days.

Thank you to Netgalley and Little, Brown Book Group for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A fun and light hearted read that I really enjoyed. Each apartment tells a different story of a building on lockdown which is entirely believable. This has left me wanting to know more about the characters and their lives.

If we hadn’t lived through the pandemic the premise of a whole apartment building being locked down would have seemed quite far fetched but instead it gave the opportunity to write about experiences we can all relate to. That’s one of the things that made this such an easy read, it’s relatable. My only criticism was that some parts were a little repetitive, I’m not sure if that’s on purpose though as day-in-day-out of lockdown was monotonous and repetitive.

There’s a good amount of character building and I felt invested in seeing how this week of lockdown panned out in the 5 apartments on London Lane - I honestly didn’t have a favourite sub-story, they were all equally good.

I found it completely different to Beth’s other book that I recently read - The Kissing Booth (which I could tell was written by a Brit trying to be American!) - If you’re a Beth O’Leary fan, this one is for you!

London Lane is on immediate lockdown for a week as one of its residents has the dreaded positive result.

Imogen is with Nate just for a one-night stand. She cannot leave in the morning now. Charlotte is visiting her parents and planning to return on Sunday to Ethan, her boyfriend. But, she cannot enter - the building is on lockdown, after all. Zach and Serena have been together for 4 years. Will this lockdown test their already tenuous relationship? Danny and Isla have been dating for just a month though Isla is already in love with Danny. They are now forced to live together. Will Isla's opinion on Danny change? Bride Kim and bridesmaids, Addison and Lucy are in the maid of honour, Olivia's home over the weekend to make wedding gifts. This sudden lockdown turns everything topsy turvy. Will their friendship survive?

Each of these stories is so cute, I found myself falling in love with the characters. This is an easy, quick, feel-good book. This would be perfect for the beach, a summer read or even in the bath with a glass of wine.

This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

Omg this book is funny, cheesy, heartbreaking and just so adorable. I literally read this book over a couple of days and just couldn’t put it down. I loved how each chapter was about a different apartment and character. I can tell you this that apartment will never be the same again after a weeks lockdown. I really want to find out what’s happened after lockdown now though too many stories that I’m hoping to know an ending for.
