ARC very long, good, and it cheered me up - which is bloody hard to do right now.

I think that Olivia Dade hit so many modern themes in this romance, the GOT style TV show, the middling with Character story Arcs, the fan fic moments, and it was refreshing to not see a perfect beautiful heroine. I felt both characters were really lovely and relatable, but I did struggle with one or two things in this book.

The absolutely constant negative descriptions of Lauren's looks, really fell very flat for me. I know she was supposed to be a fat and not pretty, but she was described so negatively repeatedly, even in Alex's internal monologue, 'round' like a 'bird', with 'lank hair' that it felt really horrible and I struggled to believe how/why Alex fell for her, and therefore when the tone changed it felt like two different books.

I did like the way she accepted Alex's quirks and didn't try to change him, and the same for Alex with Lauren; and the worldbuilding around the TV show, its politics and fandom and the fanfic was a delight.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book and all opinions are my own.

In 2020 I was introduced to the wonder that is Olivia Dade’s writing, in the form of her novel 40-Love. I fell in love with the story and devoured it in one day, and since then I’ve been desperate to read more of her work. Luckily, not long after I read 40-Love her next book and first in a new series, Spoiler Alert, was published and (spoiler alert) I loved it.

The next in the series, All the Feels, was published in 2031, and as such a huge fan of Olivia’s I was so excited and grateful to be granted early access to an e-arc which I of course could not put down. Keep reading for my spoiler free review but be warned… I tend to talk a lot about Olivia’s books.

In All the Feels we follow Alex, a famous actor who’s having a hard time with his public image and the showrunners on the hit TV show he stars in, and Lauren, the no nonsense hard working woman hired to watch over him to make sure he doesn’t get into any more trouble.

This book had everything I love about a good romance. It was funny, it was sweet, it was steamy, it discussed important topics and it was romantic. Throw in a bit of angst, some excellent plus size representation and there we go!

From the very beginning it was clear to see how much of a loyal and caring person Alex is. Sure he may have his moments of being a “delightful asshole” as Lauren says, but his tenderness was obvious. From his close relationship with his mother, the guilt he carries on his shoulders, the numerous charities he supports but doesn’t necessarily shout about to how he treats Lauren from day one, he’s truly a good guy. And while I can’t comment on the accuracy of the representation myself, Alex does have ADHD which is something that is shown throughout the story, and so it’s not just a throwaway inclusion.

I love that Olivia is always challenging outdated gender stereotypes, and it was beyond refreshing to read about a male protagonist who is not afraid to show his true feelings. Whether that be elation, love, fear or sadness and tears. Not to mention, he’s also gorgeous, cheeky, charming and hilarious.

Lauren is the kind of person you would always want in your corner. Thoughtful, caring, a great friend and confidante, everyone should have a Lauren in their life. But beneath the tough exterior we initially see, she is such a sweetheart and I found her so endearing. The shit she has had to put up with from other people, including her own family, because of her appearance really made my blood boil but reading her story and how she deals with the idiots was so empowering.

I loved Lauren and Alex’s relationship, even before it became intimate. The pair loved to bicker and rile each other up, but truly came to know and understand one another. Even if there were disagreements or one upset the other, the two would talk it out and clear the air, as they truly did want the best for one another from the beginning.

Though I did love their friendship, the romantic relationship and spice was also so good. There was never any power imbalance, and without spoiling anything let’s just say there was no taking advantage as a boss/employee. The smut is always top tier and Olivia never fails to create such thick sexual tension between the couples. Also I’m a sucker for protectiveness, and they both have a fierce loyalty to each other that made me so happy.

I mentioned the the plus sized representation before, but I just had to expand on it. As always from Olivia, I found the rep to be impeccable (for me, anyway). Lauren wasn’t just “curvy”, we are told explicitly about her round belly, her large arms and legs, and I always love that these aren’t just glossed over. Her size is considered at all times, whether that be in steamier scenes or day to day scenarios in which she is affected.

The discussions about conventional beauty and how she is treated by others because of her physical appearance were also so important and I loved how these scenes were handled by both our characters. Alex was always ready to step in to defend Lauren and berate those causing offence, but on occasions where Lauren wanted to advocate for herself, he understood how important this was to us.

Like Spoiler Alert, fan fiction played a role in this story. The plot didn’t revolve around it as heavily as it did in the first book, but for me there was the perfect amount to support this story. I loved how much Alex was into fan fiction himself, how he both read and wrote it and how much he enjoyed a good trope.

Speaking of, there is such a good “only one bed” situation in this book. Ohhhh boy. I won’t go into detail because of spoilers, but I loved this fresh take on the much loved romance trope. The only thing that topped it for me is how excited Alex was about the prospect of there being only one bed, and how he was always so overjoyed at the romance between himself and Lauren.

Part of the story features a domestic abuse storyline, and while it isn’t the main plot it is worth mentioning as a trigger warning just in case. Alex recognises the issues with the TV show he stars in when it comes to abusive relationships and so he does a lot of work with domestic abuse charities for women, but specially mentions the struggle of LGBTQIA+ women and women of colour as vulnerable groups who are often excluded from the help they need and I was so happy to read about that inclusion.

I consumed All the Feels like I just couldn’t get enough of it, and my only disappointment is that now I’ll need to wait even longer for Olivia’s next novel. It gave me butterflies and was the perfect romance read I needed right now

I was SO excited for all the feels and its plus size representation, however I was left feeling kind of disappointed. What mostly didn’t work for me was the romance between alex and lauren… i mean i love a good enemies to lovers story, but for me it just didn’t feel as though the chemistry was there. I wasn’t a fan of how negative alex was about laurens appearance and how LONG this went on for, I really cringed every time he referred to her as bird like. Maybe one day I’ll give it another try, but for now it just wasn’t what i wanted :(

Not my favourite romance of the year; it did have some good elements, but some parts I really didn’t enjoy—in particular, the descriptions of Lauren. I get that not all heroines have to be beautiful and stereotypical, but the way she was described at times made her seem a bit grotesque. I also struggled with the fan fiction element, but that probably just isn’t for me.
I’m sure I’ll read and enjoy Olivia Dade again.
Thanks to NetGalley and Little Brown for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed Spoiler Alert so I was really excited about All the Feels but it didn't quite meet my expectations.

I struggled to get into the story and didn't really connect with the characters at first. Their chemistry felt forced and I missed how easy the dialogue flowed in the first book in the series.
I also didn't love how Alex treated Lauren at times (especially in the beginning) and the hypocrisy of him insulting and belittling her and to then be so protective of her to attack everyone who looks at her the wrong way was not it.

I ended up enjoying the book and I like how the characters were developed but I was still a bit disappointed.

I adored 'Spoiler Alert' and so was excited to explore the world beyond Marcus and April. 'All the Feels' focuses on Alex, Marcus' co-star, and his relationship with Lauren. Alex is known for getting into... scrapes... due to his strong sense of justice and so he is assigned a new minder to keep him in line. Lauren is used to being put down and mocked, due to her appearance (If she looks like the beautiful woman on the cover, I am not sure why!) so finds her new job easy - she is not here to be liked. At first Alex very much joins in with this mocking of Lauren and not taking her role very seriously (lots of bird metaphor and talk of hooked noses) but we, of course, follow the pair as they inevitably fall in love.

This was a solid romance and had some interesting moments. I particularly enjoyed Lauren getting used to Alex's fame and celebrity and adjusting her assessment of his character. However, and many reviews mention this, I could not necessarily feel the chemistry between the couple and Alex's comments about Lauren's appearance wore thin. He claimed this came from a place of affection but it just feels plain offensive... How many times can a muscled, ripped man call a woman 'round' before he gets punched in the face?

Overall, a nice romance, but I would stick to 'Spoiler Alert' to enjoy Olivia Dade's writing and plotting to a greater extent. I am not ruling out reading any further entries in this romantic universe though! 3 stars.

This was by far my least favourite contemporary romance I’ve read in months. Maybe even this year.

The main reason for my dislike was Alex. I utterly despised his whole character.
He was basically a man child and incredibly annoying all the time. His refusal to shut up grated on my nerves.
He treated Lauren badly without having any good reason.

He constantly thought about how utterly unattractive he finds her and made fun of her. Great. That’s what I want to read about in a romance novel. /s

He also gave her a bunch of condescending nicknames, e.g. Nanny Clegg, Nurse Wretched, harpy…
Another one of them was Wren - because she looks like one, her nose being like a beak and all that. He tells her later how great he finds those birds with some sob story from one of his acting experiences as some sort of excuse, but it’s apparent from the beginning on that it’s not a fondly used nickname.

Another thing he did was gifting Lauren a wet blanket - because she is one. Hahaha, isn’t that hilarious. /s

Alex also writes fan fiction. With pegging, because apparently that’s incredibly important for him. I didn’t get why this is supposed to be funny, but I’m a killjoy who hates fun so that might be on me.

Anyways, the characters had no chemistry, the plot wasn’t particularly interesting either, and I felt bad for Lauren ending up with Alex in the end.

So, to sum up my opinion on All the Feels with a quote one of my favourite memes: “Thanks! I hate it”.

dnf. on my search to find body-positive plus-size protagonists in romance books just fails every time. i get what Olivia Dade tries to do in her books. but this one, just like the other i read "spoiler alert"... it just tries too hard for me to the point to triggering me. this is definitely on me, not the book, and completely a personal preference. i've seen this be fine to other readers, and i'm sad i can't join in.

This was a cute romance book, it didn’t quite have me in the feels but it definitely warmed my heart. The main protagonists were very likeable and I enjoyed getting to know them as the book went on. I would recommend this for a younger teenage audience :)

This book was actually different to what I was expecting, but in a totally brilliant way! It is refreshing to read a book that actually feels like it is real and follows a genuine timeline. Laren and Alex are excellent protagonists and I loved learning about them as individuals and then in their relationship together.

Oh, Olivia Dade. She has a habit of writing books that utterly destroy me. Alex and Wren are two well-matched characters, and their blooming romance is nothing short of heartshattering. I fell in love with the two of them, and after Spoiler Alert, I didn't think Dade could possible top it, but she has.
The way she'd structured the plot was interesting as well, half of it takes place during Spoiler Alert, and then the second half brings us the new part of the story. And oh what a story.
Dade has such an amazing way of describing her settings as well, the hot LA air was coming right off the page.
Oliva Dade has, in two books, become an absolute auto-buy for me, I would follow her into a volcano if she asked.

This was super cute. If you're looking for a heartwarming romance, this is definitely one to go for. It did dip a little in the middle for me - a lot of the novel is the characters running through things in their minds and it takes a long time for the characters to realise what they feel for eachother. Definitely one for #slowburn fans. One thing I really did like is seeing how the characters grew emotionally - they both discover things about themselves and are really active in improving self-awareness which is something we all need to get better at to be honest. Of course, it was great to see a plus-size heroine, but I did notice that her belly is always described as 'round' and it happens often, to the point where it feels like a little too much. I think it would be better if there were more varied descriptors so it didn't feel so samey. Also, I did notice that the sex scenes were long and they talked a lot, I guess it goes well with their characters but it was a little cheesy at times. In all, I'd definitely recommend this to romance lovers!

All the feels didn’t give me the feels at all. In fact I found it far too slow and not romantic enough. I didn’t warm to the characters and didn’t become emotionally invested like I do with most romances.

I have complicated feelings about this book. I generally like Olivia Dade's writing and sense of humour that comes through in her books. I haven't read the first in this series and went in not knowing anything about the characters.

I have to admit the first half was rather difficult for me, I was close to giving up in the middle but then the story turned around and I really enjoyed the second half.

I was not sold on either of the MCs initially though Alex was the real thorn in my side. I could see how he was under immense pressure, how his ADHD really complicated things for him, how sarcasm was his modus operandi, yet none of this could excuse the way he treated Lauren initially. He was rude and dismissive, consistently presented both her physical appearance and character in negative terms.

She was closed off, distanced from everything and everyone, completely burnt out because of her previous job. She came off as bland and boring but it made sense to me and his attitude to her felt even worse considering how caring and good-natured he was in fact.

Once their relationship turned into romance things changed completely for me. It was tender, sensual, fun. We see them both dealing with their baggage, giving on the feeling of guilt they carry over things from their, reaching with both hands for the love they finally feel worthy of.

Yes, there is a third-act break up and dark moment that was very dark but they got through it (with some outside help, I loved seeing the support systems they had and trust). I loved how they finally got to be completely honest with each other and opened themselves to possible rejection in order to find a way to make things between them work in the long term.

On the negative side, on top of my issues with the MCs in the first half, there are also a couple of thier little things here and there that annoyed me. There is a fanfiction element which I, someone who is not very knowledgeable of fandom/fanficiton, found weird and in my opinion was not necessary and didn't add much to the story. I found the stalking incidents to be cliched and trite, only serving to show Alex was a good person which was not necessary at all, we have already seen this on numerous occasions. They revealed a violent, incontrollable aspect of his temper which I considered worrisome. I wish there had been more focus on him getting help for these issues, rather than him becoming calmer and more stable thanks to his relationship with Lauren.

Overall, I didn't like the first part but I am glad that persevered and finished the book. It made me angry and happy and it made me think over different issues it explores and I am grateful for this.

CW: hero with ADHD, fatphobia, insults on physical appearance, unsupportive families, domestic violence (side character, in the past), actor stalking

Ahh this book really gives you all the feels. It took me 50% to really start enjoying the book. But suddenly it started getting better and made me emotional. All the feels is full of angst and a bit of road tripping. I loved how Alex was writing fan fiction for his own show and got interest from his own life;)

'All the Feels' by Olivia Dade lives up to its title.

It's a book that balances warmth and humour with the tougher parts of life. All while showing the growth and attraction between two essentially lonely people who learn to be vulnerable with each other.

Lauren is plus sized an not considered 'attractive' by the narrow beauty standards of the western world (a recurring theme in Dade's books). While Alexander is considered 'hot' and 'attractive' he struggles with how his ADHD imnpacts on his life and those around him.

A warm hug in book form. I adore anything written but Olivia Dade, and I think All The Feels might be my favourite of hers yet.

I loved this book (and I love the series) but it had must less angst and drama than the first one. But very funny and sassy characters, had me laughing out loud!

I adored this book. Spoiler Alert set a high bar and All the Feels exceeded it! Such a lovely story, and really appreciated both the characters who were finely drawn, and though they had their issues, they didn't take them out on each other unneccesarily. A beautiful story arc, with sweet touches throughout. I loved both Lauren and Alex so much. Alex was such an adorable goofball. Great rep of both plus size and ADHD. Sweet and sensitive. TW: does talk about domestic violence, but handled really well. Thanks so much for my review copy!!

I loved reading Olivia Dade's Spoiler Alert last year and so naturally I was very excited to read its companion novel. This book follows Marcus's co-star and best friend, Alex and his minder, Lauren. It's every bit as delightful and charming as Spoiler Alert but I think that I preferred All the Feels when comparing the two.

Once again, Dade provides us with two realistic and vulnerable leads: Lauren who is plus size and not considered "conventionally attractive" and Alex who has ADHD. Lauren is fairly stoic and Alex is an absolute cinnamon roll despite coming across as the complete opposite at times. There are lots of layers to their characters and the overall development is really well done.

I loved the way that the two characters complimented each other as much as they contrasted. Likewise, they brought out the best in each other which was lovely.

All in all, this book was an absolute delight. It was a heart-warming romance full of comedy and I loved everything about it.

One final thing to note is that there are less fan fiction elements than there were in Spoiler Alert. As I wasn't too keen on them before, I was relieved to see that they didn't take up much page space this time around but I'm sure that people that did enjoy that plot device will still feel satisfied.

Alex Woodroe has a starring role on TV’s biggest show but the show runners have ruined his character. After a bar fight of his is plastered all over the papers, Lauren a former ER therapist is made in charge of him. When another scandal of his costs both of them their careers, they have to come to a decision.

I absolutely loved Alex and thought the ADHD representation was so well written and showed what it’s like to live with it day to day.

Sometimes the way he spoke to Lauren at the start of the book was very childish and a bit uncomfortable and you wouldn’t think he was actually 39 saying it to someone his own age.

Lauren was also a great character and the plus sized representation was amazing. Seeing how she deals with rudeness due to her size and how comfortable she is with herself was incredible.

I love the character development they both go through and seeing them learn about the mistakes they’ve made and putting themselves first.

This is a companion novel to ‘Spoiler Alert’ but I didn’t read this beforehand and there were a few times I had to piece together who people were and their relation to Alex. Overall I understood who the side characters were without reading the first book.
