Thank you so much to the publisher, the author, and netgalley for sending me an e-ARC to read. I gave this book three stars.

This was a quick and easy read. I really liked the setting of the book festival and all the different authors coming together. Jo and Will had decent chemistry and it was interesting to see the initial frostiness/ awkwardness thaw as the story progressed. I would have liked an explanation for why Will criticised Jo’s books/writing though as this was not fully explained

I really like this author, her books are good for a cute palate cleanser, this was no different. The characters are perfect and the banter between the MC and love interest was funny. This series usually has a more serious side story which is always interesting. A solid 4 star read.

I loved the Princess Diaries books growing up, and I was nervous about the adult novels she had done and this was so much better than I ever expected!

I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

I have loved this authors books since I was young when I used to read the mediator series and i equally loved this book. Cannot wait to read more from Meg Cabot.

Thanks again

I'm a lifelong Meg Cabot fan - I couldn't tell you how many times I've read The Princess Diaries. However, I've mostly delved into her Middle Grade and YA novels, so exploring an Adult romance from my childhood fave has been an interesting experience!

This was a really cute summer romance, especially for the book lover in me who enjoyed the bookishness of the main character. This was light and breezy and enjoyable, perfect for reading on the beach or with a G&T on a summer afternoon.

Unfortunately think Cabot's romances are just too clean for me, to the point where they either hardly interact or the chemistry seems to not be there.

This sounded promising but it fell a little flat for me and I felt like the story was a bit rushed and some parts just glossed over, I did enjoy it but found it to be quite average

I did not get around to reading this book prior to it’s publication date and it has since been archived therefore I cannot leave a review at this time.

Meg Cabot was one of my favourite authors when I was a teenager and Queen of Babble is still one of my all time favourite books. However, I struggled to connect with the characters in No Words and the storyline just felt very rushed.

The timeline was short and I personally didn’t feel much depth to the characters. Jo was overly sensitive and too protective over her work. Her and Will falling for each other wasn’t exciting. The character felt whiny and just not that likeable.

This was a fun beachy romance filled with conflict. There's nothing I love more than an enemies to lovers novel and this promised to be just that.

The main character acts like a bit of an entitled teenager, which does make her a little unlikeable at times. This novel does have the "wrong end of the stick" trope when it comes to writers and critics- I really think the main character is acting like a bit of a child though to be honest. I hope it isn't a reaction on Cabot and how someone spoke to her regarding the Princess Diaries series!

A fun, quick read that could have been so much more - they really werent enemies at all! - but would it have still been a summer romance?

I loved this! I’ve been a huge fan of Meg Cabot since reading The Princess Diaries as a teen and then reading her adult fiction has been wonderful! Since I found the first snippet of this series as a novella I’ve been excited for new updates and No Words was an excellent addition to the series. The relationship between the two authors is fantastic and full of great romance tropes without being too cliched. I absolutely loved reading this and devoured it so quickly that I was sad to come to the end of it!

A funny and witty romantic comedy with a real element of fun. A quick and easy read and I loved the back story of the book festival. Cabot writes with flair and Jo and Will have an undeniable chemistry.

I wish I could've liked this read more but sadly I couldn't get into it. This was a stereotypical, cliche, regular, quick read.

This is the story of Jo Wright who is a children's author who is invited to a book festival on little Bridge Island. She has vowed to never step foot on the Island so long as her nemesis Will Price lives there. But the money being offered is too good to turn down if she wants to buy her father a retirement home in a warmer place.

No Words - Meg Cabot

Meg Cabot, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Princess Diaries, returns to Little Bridge Island with a new story about a children’s book author with a case of writer’s block and an arrogant novelist who have to set aside their differences as they get through a weekend long book festival that just might change everything—including their feelings for each other.

Jo Wright is a successful novelist, with a line in teenage cats who cat-sit and a menagerie of friends that pop in and out. She gets the offer she can’t refuse - an invite to a book festival with first class travel and a huge stipend - on a beautiful island in Florida. The only snag is that her sworn enemy, Will Price, lives on that island. He’s snooty, snobby and declared in an interview that her books weren’t valuable in society, or something.

I thought I would like this more than I did, to be completely honest. I thought Jo was a bit annoying and whiny as well as being one track - despite Will’s slightly creepily over the top apology, she still doesn’t let it go and move on, even when she learns that his life has actually been a bit crap. Instead, she starts noticing that he’s quite handsome and muscly, and then berating herself for fancying her Nemesis. Meanwhile, he’s quite full on and so is she and basically, when they did kiss I was surprised as I had no idea it was coming, it was so out of the blue.

The other characters are quite flat, and seem to parade past Jo in a Greek chorus of “She loves him, she loves him not” and also “ isn’t that other male author a creep” without adding much. There are also a couple of characters who are specifically pointed out as People in Another Plot, which I took to mean No Offense or No Judgment, the other books in this LIttle Island trilogy. Honestly though, is she trying to make her titles difficult for Brits to spell??
Instead of including me in the last book, it made me feel left out and like I’ve missed something.

I did like Jo’s ringtone as a long running joke, and I liked the description of the boat ride and Will’s boat.
This does have a book in a book, as Jo grudgingly reads and enjoys Will’s book which came free with the swag bag. This was a bit of a bodice ripper, and I was surprised that he’s described as a literary fiction author - that didn’t read like that to me. I suspect it was meant to be a joke, but it was truly terrible and the characters talk quite a lot about what a great writer he is.

It did take me until I wrote their names next to each other to notice that double barrelled their surnames are ‘Wright-Price’, arf.

For fans of Meg Cabot who want to complete the collection of her many, many novels. I’d recommend Beach Read by Emily Henry for more of the genre hopping trope stuff with characters you are rooting for, and The Princess Bride if you want to do a book within a book. Or The Neverending Story.

Thanks as always to Netgalley and to Little Brown Book Group for the DRC!

I am absolutely loving this Little Bridge Island series, so couldn't wait to delve into the pages of No Words.

And it certainly didn't let me down, and I was delighted to see the island now has book festival.

Jo Wright can't turn down the stipend being offered to appear, despite the possibility she could run into her arch nemesis. She writes books featuring talking cats that sound like a lot of fun to read, and Will Price is the author of rather depressing sounding books.

They have professional history, and sparks really do fly during this festival which also includes a lot of book talk, boat trips and spectacular get togethers.

And it was good to see some of the familiar residents of the island too, and check in with how they are getting along, but it definitely is a standalone story.

I can't get enough of these books and always enjoy reading them on holiday when I can, as they are for me great poolside reads.

I really loved everything that was written, and at some point I really do need to investigate this authors back catalogue and read more from her.

Thank you to Piatkus and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
