This is a good thriller with some good twists throughout. The characters are well developed and the house was another character. The book is well written with some brilliant plot twists

Yes there are a lot of similar books like this lately but this worked. It was fast paced and I just really got into it and it worked. This was a definite one session read for me.

I was given a free copy by netgalley and the publishers but the review is entirely my own.

A sign of a great thriller is that you can’t guess what’s going to happen and that was the case with this. It wasn’t predictable at all and there were plenty of twists which is exactly what I look for in this genre

I was pulled into this story from the beginning. I needed to know what the history/mystery was surrounding the house. The neighbours were an intriguing bunch. Although I have read books with similar plotlines, there was just something different about this one. The pace is fast in this quick read. I will look out for this author in future.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a good read, although a little slow-paced. I also found the characters unconvincing. I enjoyed the plot though. Recommended.

This is the first book I have read from this author and I managed to finish it in two sittings over two days and wow I loved it

The writing style is very easy to follow and I never felt lost at any point I loved how the story was written it gripped me from the very first page to the very last and the first night i tried to read this book i had to put it down as it freaked me out a bit at first and that's hard to do from a book but without spoiling the perfect house left me looking around my house a bit ha ha ha

6 Moss Lane is the dream home for Tom Hartley and Ellie Wight and they have just moved in. But when strange things keep happening, Ellie discovers that their wonderful home has a secret past.

Although this tale has a well-worn premise I still found it to be engrossing and tense in parts. I adore novels that feature spooky houses, though I have to pick my moments for reading them! The characters had depth, it was well-written and I enjoyed the clever plot twists. Very highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my own request from HQ Digital via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

‘The Perfect House’ is the latest book by R.P. Bolton.

Ellie knows she has found her dream home – number six Moss Lane. The place she and Tom can settle down, raise their new baby and start again. But why do their new neighbours think they’re so brave for moving in? Why are Ellie’s keys never where she left them? And why can Ellie hear strange noises in the night that Tom can’t? Suddenly their dream house no longer feels so perfect and when Ellie learns the truth about number six’s dark past, a truth that Tom has been keeping secret from her, she no longer knows who she can trust. Has their perfect home become her worst nightmare?

If you like your psychological thrillers with a hint of the supernatural threaded throughout, then I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

The story is written in the past and present tense as first time mother Ellie embraces her new daughter Trinity as well as adjusts to her new home with boyfriend Tom. But strange things happen in the old house, things that only Ellie sees and everyone begins to question Ellie’s mental health and whether she’s capable of the job of being a mother.

This is one of the creepiest books that I’ve read in a while, with unreliable protagonist, a suspicious partner and a strange mute woman, this book gave me the chills from the first page.

Ellie thinks that she’s found the perfect home, but her dream home is shrouded in misery and death and makes it the talk of the town when they move in. A house associated with death, Ellie feels threatened in her new home with strange sounds, visions, it’s impossible for her to enjoy the new space. With Tom, busy with his job and her mother stuck in Spain with a broken leg, Ellie feels completely isolated and paranoid at a moment pivotal moment in her life.

The older narrative from Ellie’s is from university days with best friend Mia and when she meets and it’s the first hazy days of love.

This book is creepy and unsettling but it was impossible to put down. Atmospheric from the first page, the book was cleverly crafted with suspense building with each turned page and with a plethora of complex characters that all made for suspicious reading, this supernatural thriller has a devilishly twisted ending that left me shocked.

You can buy ‘The Perfect House’ from Amazon and is available to buy from good bookshops.

A well written book with some really clever plot twists. I enjoyed this book and I liked the depth of the characters which made them easy to believe in. The writing style is easy to read and keeps you turning the pages. It earns every one of the 5 stars I have given it

Wow; this one had me gripped from the start.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that won't let you go.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously.
Can't wait to read what the author brings out next.

If you're looking for an unsettling, must be read with the lights on, type of novel, just in time for Halloween- look no further.

This debut novel is dark and creepy. Anyone who's had a baby will understand Ellie's permanent brain fog and self doubt, which makes the ghostly element even more disconcerting.

I was intrigued to discover what had happened in Ellie's past and what was really happening in her present. More perhaps a supernatural tale than a psychological thriller- the final page continues to stay with me!
