Making spreads can be so daunting when you first start out and I feel like this book was a really good guide to starting it without feeling overwhelmed. I can't wait to throw together some of the breakfast recipes and spreads!

This is an amazing book with stunning photography. But it is very American. It appears to me is it's very sweet. The more healthier options appear less appetizing.

The book covers every meal. But the waffle bar and mini banana muffins caught my attention. But I have to admit our cousins across the pond have very different ideas of what go's together.

I loved this book! I used to think of spreads as appetizers, I never thought to make a breakfast or dessert spread! I’m inspired now to get out my boards and play around. The pictures are fantastic, I was inspired just looking at them. This book has great ideas for families and entertaining, especially because the board can be set up and labeled so there’s something for everyone. People who are gluten-free or have other specific food requirements can choose the food right for them. I can’t wait to get started!

I loved her first book and this next anthology is a great addition to her canon.

The cheesy sauce is a gamechanger for anyone who loves queso. The Pull apart cinnamon rolls with strawberry icing were a huge hit. I made everything from the Cinco de Mayo party and it was easy, fun, and delicious. This is a great book for those who like to plan around a theme. The recipes are concise and easy to follow. The food is tasty and exactly the star quality we have come to expect from Meagan Brown. You will not be disappointed with anything you cook from this book.

This book is a cookbook lover's dream come true. It is stunning and I've seen so many different versions of this book done before, but none of them even remotely compare to the awesomeness of this one. It's got a wealth of wonderful recipes, and a plethora of beautiful photographs. I love the way that it's laid out. Differently than any cookbook I've ever seen. I genuinely cannot wait to get my hands on this book in physical form.

I can practically guarantee you will not be disappointed with this book. It's very clear a lot of love went into it.

Did I love it so much that I went right out and bought it? Yes, yes I did!

I love Cookbooks anyway but this is part Cookbook and part party planning (which I'm horrible at, btw) and I just fell in love with it.

There are certain occasions that I try to have big spreads for, one is Thanksgiving and one is New Years Eve.  Big dishes for Thanksgiving and a bunch of appetizers on New Years Eve.  But I never thought about all of the other occasions that this book dives in to.

The spreads that Brown has created are so much fun and so beautiful.  If you want to have the work off your shoulders for coming up with the ideas and be shown a beautiful way of presenting foods to impress your friends and family, then this book is for you!

I loved all of them but the ones that I'm most excited about are Valentine's Day, The Margarita and the Hot Cocoa spread.  So many great ideas. I can't wait to start putting some of these together.

There are some recipes within the book that need to be cooked or prepared ahead and
the recipes are all easy to follow.  The other ideas Brown gives are for additional ingredients to include in your offerings.

I loved everything about this one and I can't wait to get my hard copy later this month when it comes out!

Spectacular Spreads is a fantastic collection of ideas for all sorts of parties and family dinners. If you want to spice up your meals or are hesitant about party planning then this is a great book for you! Personally, I get overwhelmed by choice when it comes to throwing parties and tend to over buy but this book really helps you break down what you need while giving you enough freedom to add your own flare to a spread. Once parties become more common again, I will definitely be using ideas from this book to entertain my guests!

This book left me desperate to have a reason to make a spread and also starving. This was a fab idea for a book giving you ideas and inspiration for how to create a spread for any number of different occasions. It is suitable for people of all culinary abilities as it has recipes as well as just ideas of things you can purchase for your spread. This is a perfect gift for the hostess in your family.

This book covered so many bases! It has spreads for almost anything you can think of, and even includes recipes to include alongside basic ingredients. I'd recommend this for anyone who enjoys putting out spreads (lol) for people at events, parties, or even just at home for family. This is so well written and set out.

If you’re a beginner, this is a great book to learn how to pair foods together by theme. A lot of the displays are a little self explanatory,
For example the taco or waffle platters.

As a self-proclaimed charcuterie and party planning expert, I was really excited for this book when I saw it on NetGalley. I was hoping for more tidbits on how to construct displays and build ingredients to create exceptional meals.

Also, I was hoping for more than just a chapter on charcuterie building. Instead of showing how to build showpieces and big grazing tables to a theme, this book is focused on dishes that share common ground that can be served together at a party.

The author does a great job explaining some of the early concepts - like at the end of the book where she shares a lot of basic recipes.

For me, this book was a bit of a miss and isn’t one I would plan to purchase for myself. Though, as mentioned, this might be a great book for beginners.

Who doesn’t experience mouthwatering delight when presented with a spectacular spread? Meagan has created the ultimate collection of sumptuous spreads you could wish for, each one planned with perfection and displayed in gloriously tempting photos. A joy to leaf through, with a host of ideas for every occasion and easy to follow recipes which will suit all skill levels. I love the elements of sharing and DIY assembly of feasts she encourages, which adds to the fabulous experience of enjoying food with family and friends. An inspiration send out invites to treat and indulge your loved ones! This is a must have book for my shelf!

Beautiful presentation like always - it looks appetising and gave me loads of ideas - though a lot of those are quite messy, probably more complicated in the end than making a traditional meal because you have to remember to buy and assemble a lot more things, and very American, so quite sweet and not very healthy, with only quite Anglo recipes or favourites (like Mexican foods and Italian).
When the dishes are obviously healthy they are often a little less appetising (I can't say I will ever be attracted to a raw broccoli florettes tree to dip). I have lived all around the world and seen the buffet/tapas/do-it-yourself tradition all over and loved those - from Spain where it is a tapas institution, Lebanese mezze, to the Korean bbq, Chinese hot pot and yam cha, Japanese hand sushi party, French aperitif diner and soooo many other delicious spreads... I felt like those recipes lacked a little freshness and might have been overly complicated like the do it yourself pizza. Unless you have an outdoor pizza oven (that literally only takes 6min per pizza to cook) - the back and forth between batches cannot be much fun, and getting kids to wait after the fun might be not so fun.
A huge amount of effort when into this, but this might not be for my family.

Spectacular spread includes a large selection of meal plans for every occasion you could think of. The book is beautiful presented with mouth watering photos. It includes various recipes to ensure you can replicate the amazing spreads presented. The recipes are easy to follow and do not require a million different ingredients. They are also aimed at the every day cook rather than intimidating those who read them. The book is easy to follow and set out for very easy reading. I will definitely be assembling many of these spreads to entertain my guests. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.

This is a beautiful book filled with beautiful foods laid out in incredible ways. I was so excited when I saw this book. I love entertaining and creating foods. This book is the best of both worlds. So many times you will see a food lay out and they only want to tell you how to make the food. Not only do they give you recipes to make the incredible foods but also help you with how to lay it out. Charcuterie boards are very popular now and this book takes that up a notch. It's not just cheese and crackers it's hardier foods. They give you lay outs for any occasion and for any holiday you can think of. But why wait for a holiday why not create one of these boards for a plain Thursday night with the family. I can't wait to get my copy of this book.

I am so happy I found this book. This is book I have needed all my life. This will be a book that I buy as a gift for so many people that I know who love entertaining or have a lot of family/friends gatherings. Page after page of detailed pictures of entertaining themed food layout tables with recipes, for every kind of entertaining party you might be having. I am so inspired by every page with ideas for food layouts that I never ever thought of. I am going to be the hit of the next family gathering we have. There is even a section on drinks, hot chocolate, smoothie bars.

This book is amazing! Perfect for entertaining! It includes recipes to make with the boards, and the pictures are stunning!

The spreads in the book are grouped into chapters on breakfast & brunch, lunch & dinner, special occasions, holidays, desserts, and drinks. The spread ideas list how many people it will serve, special supplies/equipment needed, recipes, and things that can be made or done ahead. Some of the spreads are more simple (i.e. a parfait bar) and some have lots of elements. The book is filled with lots of great ideas, photos, and recipes. This is a great book for anyone who enjoys entertaining or serving food in a spread style.

What a gorgeous book? Aptly named because I loved the gorgeous pictures. I’m having a birthday party and I can not wait to try some of these gorgeous ensemble of dishes!

What did I like? The book is sectioned by theme or events and all the gorgeous pics are filled by how to obtain that spread. It has tips, tricks, and even lets you know what can be made ahead of time …to save time. I thought many of the ideas were crafty and very cute. I’ve seen people make spreads before but this really is one of a kind!

Would I recommend or buy? What’s great about spreads is that most of this stuff can be easy leftovers. It really has some spectacular ideas! If I ran a bed or breakfast or had a large family. Even easier you can size down the spread for just yourself and your friends. There are so many to try as well. Something really for everyone! Five stars! Really enjoyed it!
