This is an impressive and outstanding book by Dinah Jeffries set during WW[[ in a small French village on the Dordogne in France. The story revolves mainly around three sisters and what happens to them. Theo’s book had me captivated and at times horrified at what was happening, bearing in mind this was just one little village so this shows how everybody was affected during the German occupation. Dinah Jeffries is a true master of her craft at storytelling and I felt every raw emotion when listening to this book. This is the first on a series and I will be waiting for the next eagerly. Stephanie Racine narrates adding to the atmosphere of this excellent audiobook. This is not one to miss. Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins for my gifted copy.
