I love a festive themed book and this was cute and cozy and adorable, perfect for the Christmas season or as a pick-me-up during the year.

A sweet, cute, coz read perfect for the house. I really enjoyed the pact they made and how one extremely fun night led to their happiness.

This is the perfect Christmas book if you are wanting to get into the festive spirit. I really enjoyed it and the events that took place. It kind of gave me 'What happens in Vegas' vibes. They wake up married - but this has been a longstanding promise - and just how easy is it to get divorced from someone you have loved for a very long time.

Thank you Netgalley and Lovett for allowing me this ARC

On Christmas Eve eight years ago Evie and Dan made a pact: if they weren’t married by thirty, they were going to marry each other. Fast forward, they wake up on Christmas Eve (the night before Evie’s thirtieth birthday in Vegas) married. Surely if they just get a quickie divorce, they can go back to the way things used to be, right? Except moving on is easier said than done when you've secretly loved each other forever…

I liked this one! It was less of a Christmas book, and more of a whole year book that started and ended at Christmas. It was super frustrating that they didn’t just talk to each other! The audiobook was well done!

Unfortunately the writing of this really let it down. I found it stiff and hard work and a struggle to finish. Had high hopes but sadly it did not hit the mark.

I love friends to lovers, and I really enjoyed this book. I've not read anything by this author, but I loved it!

I thought the pacing was nice, the characters well-developed, the premise enticing, and the setting endearing!

This was just ok for me. I’m not a huge fan of dual timelines and often got confused at the start of a new chapter trying to remember what was happening and when. I did like Evie and Dan’s relationship however it is verrry slow burn.

A beautiful story, I really enjoyed this festive read. The things we do to preserve our zest for love and life.
It's well written and definitely a recommended read.

One of the reasons I wanted to read this book is because my daughter and her BFF had a marriage pact. If both of them were single by the time they reached 35, there would get married. Well, happily they both have someone they love in their lives, but they are still BFFs. On Christmas Eve eight years ago, under the mistletoe, Evie and Dan made a pact: if they weren’t married by thirty, they were going to marry each other. Neither of them knew or would admit that they really cared about each other. Fast forward 8 years to the night before Evie's 30th birthday. Neither are married or involved, so after a drunken night in Vegas, they wake up married. Both remember the amazing night, but won't admit that it was amazing. They get the marriage annulled and plan to get on with their lives, but can they?

The Mistletoe Pace was told from both Dan's and Evie's point of view. It also went back and forth in time sharing all that they had been through all the years. Dan is the brother of Evie's BFF, so they are often in each other's company, seeing the other with dates, and trying to ignore their feelings. This was a fun story with humor, friendship, fun, and lots of family and friend gatherings adding cheer to the story. I obviously enjoyed this one more than many others. Yes, there were times that the story dragged, but overall, I found it a light and easy read with a second chance romance, friendship, secrets and some Christmas cheer. I would have liked more Christmas, but overall, this was a satisfactory read.

"The Mistletoe Pact" by Jo Lovett is a delightful and heartwarming holiday romance that captures the essence of the festive season. Lovett's writing weaves a cozy atmosphere, making readers feel like they're stepping into a Hallmark movie. The characters are charming and relatable, with their quirks and vulnerabilities adding depth to the story. The pacing maintains a balance between the slow-building romance and the plot's progression, ensuring readers stay engaged. The chemistry between the main characters adds a touch of magic, enhancing the overall reading experience. While the story occasionally embraces familiar holiday romance tropes, Lovett's unique twists and genuine emotion elevate the narrative. The resolution wraps up the story nicely, leaving readers with a warm and satisfied feeling.

In summary, "The Mistletoe Pact" is a recommended choice for those seeking a heartwarming and enchanting holiday read that reminds us of the power of love and joy during the festive season.

This book fell right in the middle of the road for me - everything felt too convenient for this couple.

I enjoyed both Evie and Dan as main characters, but the writing style of this book was not my favorite.

3 stars.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion! This book was a great holiday read. It was charming and a great friends-to-lovers story. There were a lot of likeable characters, even the secondary ones were interesting and I enjoyed them. The only thing I did not like about this were the time jumps, which made things not always make sense. I wish it was a little more linear. All in all though, it was a good read.

I have given The Mistletoe Pact by Jo Lovett four out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was such a fun, romantic comedy story to read mixed with some serious tones as well. Our main characters, Evie and Dan, had such great chemistry however there were parts in this book which I found frustrating to read over as I just wanted them to get together but their thoughts, feelings and certain situations were getting in the way!

I really liked the author’s writing and reading from both, Evie and Dan’s perspectives. Equally, the secondary characters we meet in this book were interesting and well-developed.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and really hope to pick up more books written by Jo Lovett in the near future!

The premise of this book was good. I myself may have indulged in a marriage pact. The writing was okay, but I did enjoy this story. A fun seasonal read (set at christmas, but not too christmasy) but overall it was a good book but not a great book.

My first read by this author and definitely not my last!

Spanning several years, two friends decide to make a mistletoe pact - if neither are married or in a serious relationship when Evie turns 30, they will marry. And they do. On one drunken night in Las Vegas. Only that's not the end of this story. That's the beginning.

This dual timeline, friends to lover story was just what I needed to button up my Christmas reading. Lots of fun with some sweet and romantic moments too. And that's a bit misleading as it seems like this is a Christmas read, but really, there are just a few Christmas elements in the story. Most of the story takes place at other times of the year.

So feel free to read this one anytime. 4.5 stars

This was light and sweet seasonal fare perfect for winter hiatus and a hot cup of cocoa! I ended up checking it out at my local library as I was late to download.
