I have read a few of Tilly's books and this one has been my favourite so far. A heart-warming book with characters that you can relate to.

I was lucky to receive an advance copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review and opinion. This was a fun read that absolutely reminded me of a Hallmark movie. I would absolutely love to read more by this author as it was a feel good story all the way through. Thank you so much for allowing me to read and review this! Keep up the good work!

This is a feel good, heartwarming, emotional Christmas story about Libby and the heartbreak she goes through when her beloved dumps her for her cousin before their wedding day, as well as Libby being chief bridesmaid for her best friend Willow's wedding. At the wedding, they all get snowed in and Libby meets Noah, who charms her, but will she give him her heart? Her ex is also at the wedding. How will that work out?

I enjoyed this story, although sometimes I felt a bit frustrated by it, and it didn't always go the way I wanted it to. However, I still highly recommend it and I love all of the other books I have read from Tilly. This a lovely book to read at this time of the year and all through the winter, while cosy in bed under the duvet, with a cup of hot tea, coffee or hot chocolate.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book, most of it is spent across 3 days which was really well written, I liked the main characters you felt you were in their lives, the setting was well (but on over) described, grab yourself a hot chocolate and enjoy

In Tilly Tenant’s ‘My best friend’s wedding’, Libby has to put aside her heartbreak to attend the wedding of her best friend at the same time as her ex Rufus. There she meets Noah, an old friend of the groom and has a growing attraction to him. Unfortunately a snowstorm leaves everyone, inc Libby and her ex trapped overnight in the wedding venue.

This story had a good start but after a while I feel it dragged on, and then when a plot twist is revealed it was a bit of a fizzle or felt like Tennant has written herself in a corner in resolving it. But overall it was a bit of fun escapism,

This was just o.k. for me. Too much attention was on Rufus' actions and not enough development of the rest of the characters and their relationships. I had such high hopes for this one, but it just didn't click with me.

This book did remind of Jenny Colgan's books. There was a lot of details about the wedding. I am a slow reader, so some times all those details distract me from the story. I did like that the romance which was a slow moving one.

I like a closed door romance, so this one suited me in that way. If you are look for steam and details, this book won't be for you. I also really liked a Christmas eve wedding - just seemed so romantic.

The ending sort of ticked me off - don't want to go into details, but I felt like Libby had two standards - one for herself and one for the guy she used to date.

Libby has had a hard year and her broken heart is mending.
It’s Christmas Eve and her best friend Willow is getting married, Libby is in charge of the three smaller bridesmaid which is fun until the snow comes.
Stranded at Christmas she meets someone but her ex is still intent on making her life unhappy.

My Best Friend’s Wedding follows the story of a girl named Libby. An ultimate betrayal turns her world upside down. A few months later, she is the chief bridesmaid at her best friend Willow’s wedding. At the wedding, Libby feels an attraction towards one of the guests Noah. He is an old friend of Willow’s husband, who now lives in LA.
The characters are interesting and realistic. They don’t seem like unattainable human beings; they are grounded. I loved Libby. She is funny, smart, caring, and organized. She underestimates herself sometimes about the way she needs order in everything because Rufus called her on it, but she remains true to herself.
My Best Friend’s Wedding is exactly how it is described, a feel-good romantic comedy. It is paced well, and there isn’t too much unnecessary drama in the story. It has interesting characters, a cute love story, and a good story. I enjoyed reading this book

A wedding, Christmas Eve and a snowy day come together to form a romantic novel and the story of My Best Friend's Wedding. Libby is going through a very rough time in her life and her best friend's wedding on Christmas Eve is a frightening prospect for her as she is worried that her ex might show up. On the day of the wedding she meets Noah and what happens after that is the story of this novel.
This novel was just an ok read for me. The setting of this novel was so beautiful and I wanted so much more with Libby and Noah. Instead most of the time its about Libby focused on Rufus's actions. All throughout the novel I waited for something to happen but the book fell a little flat at the end.

I really thought I was going to enjoy this one - a gorgeous cover that caught my attention, and a synopsis that made me think this would be right up my alley - but, unfortunately, this book fell flat for me! I really wanted to like My Best Friend's Wedding ... but I actually felt bored most of the time (don't think that's ever happened before).

The writing was nice, but the characters felt very superficial, there was no real depth to them. I had a hard time understanding certain behavior and just couldn't relate at all. The big "twist" towards the end and her reaction to it all ... like what?? The whole situation just felt very unbelievable and inauthentic - especially considering what transpired at the beginning. And there was like no chemistry at all between the 2 main characters. The story consisted of a lot on inner monologue and dialogues that would just go on and on without any of the characters talking about anything substantial. Everything unfolds over the course of a wedding (2 days), and a lot of things felt very repetitive and just dragged on. The plot doesn't really move for most of the book and then at the end ... all of a sudden it's over. It felt very abrupt. I'm really sad, because this had so much potential!! Maybe I'll have more luck with the next book from this author.

Loved how an unexpected encounter at a wedding can change the coarse of ones life. Libby has been struggling since her break up with Rufus, but learns that all men aren’t like that when she meets Noah. She also learns that letting go and living life is more important than living in the past.

My Best Friend's Wedding is set during the holiday season but I wouldn't exactly call it a Christmas book. The main focus is a wedding that occurs on Christmas Eve and the events that happen before and afterwards. The story occurs over the span of three days and forever changes the lives of all the characters involved.

Libby is the chief bridesmaid for her best friend Willow's wedding. And with this comes alot of responsibility and distraction. Libby is grateful for the distraction as she recently had a bad breakup with her fiancé' after she discovers him cheating on her with her cousin. She is also still recovering from the loss of her baby. So any distractions are appreciated for this resilient yet vulnerable character.

Enter Noah. Noah is a friend of the groom, Tomas and there is an immediate attraction between him and Libby. One of those stealing glances across the room types of chemistry. Once the wedding party and guests find themselves snowed in at the inn, it sets up the perfect opportunity to get to know each other better.

Of course within getting to know each other there are still secrets that are hard to reveal. Libby doesn't like talking about her ex Rufus especially when he shows up as a guest as the wedding claiming to be a friend of the bride and room. Noah is originally from England like Libby but now lives in California. He has returned home for the wedding but is secretive about his home life. The chemistry and dynamic between the two characters has a way of making these secrets easy to ignore but of course secrets always have a way of coming out.

The premise of My Best Friend's Wedding was such a wonderful idea. Snowed in with a handsome stranger? Almost sounds like the start of Hallmark movie! Unfortunately, it didn't take long for it to feel slightly repetitive. I enjoyed some of the preparation for the wedding but, felt that too much length was spent on the descriptions of the snow and being stuck in the wedding venue. Trust me, I understand that they were snowed in. I also wished that the character of Libby had been drawn out a little more. I feel like there could have been more depth to her and less self induced pity party. She was so wishy washy with Noah and while I understand given her recent history, it still drove me crazy. I think I was just brunt out in regards to snow and wedding descriptions.

My Best Friends Wedding takes place over such a short period of time but is a sweet story. Although there were some aspects that I didn't fully find captivating, it was an easy story to follow. It ended too abruptly for me as well. I think details could have been better fleshed out especially with the secrets that were dropped. All in all, if you're looking for a book you can get lost in for a bit, I think this might be the one.

Libby lives in a little attic above the tailoring shop where she is the manager. She was engaged to Rufus until she learned that he had impregnated her cousin, Kylie. She and Rufus had been planning their wedding and she was left brokenhearted.

Libby is now the chief bridesmaid for her best friend, Willow, who is marrying Tomas on Christmas Eve. Although Rufus had originally been invited to the wedding, she is hoping he will not show up. The reception is being held at the beautiful Lovage Hall. Problem is, snow has begun falling and it doesn’t look like it is going to stop. Libby is trying to keep the three young bridesmaids from getting into mischief so she has hardly a chance to enjoy herself. Then she meets Noah, a good friend of the groom. He has come from California where he lives and works in special effects in Hollywood. He and Libby enjoy chatting until the electricity goes out from the storm. Many people had planned on driving home after the party but now the roads are clogged. Some have rooms reserved at the Hall but there aren’t enough for everyone even if they could afford it. So now, they have to settle for a blanket and hope to find a comfortable chair until the storm passes and electricity is restored.

This is a clever story about discovering someone new in life that opens one’s eyes to what’s out there. It’s about family and friends and the happiness we all seek. A clean, humorous, little romance with a lot of Christmas thrown in as well. Enjoy, readers!

I have tried to get into that book, but unfortunately couldn't get into it. I stopped reading after 40 pages and never finished the book.

Thank you to Bookouture for letting me take part in this tour and for my copy of this book via Netgalley. I am a big fan of Tilly’s work and have been for a long time so a book with Christmas and a wedding sounded ideal. Sadly for me, this one didn’t hit the mark.

Our main character Libby has had an awful few months. Libby is a likeable enough character. She seems like a lovely girl that just wanted to be loved. I had no real issues with Libby but she just wasn’t someone I easily connected with.

Rufus the Dufus I think I will call Libby’s ex. I think the fact that he turned up to Willow and Tomas’ is pretty unrealistic. If he had been close friends with Tomas or even good friends then I could understand it but for me, this didn’t feel natural that he would turn up at a wedding where he barely knew anyone. This was one of the big reasons this book didn’t work for me.

The book takes place over a relatively short amount of time but the romance seemed very slow burn. It’s very hard to describe. I felt like we just started to get to know the characters and the book was over. I think I would have shortened some of the wedding section and then seen some more of Libby and Noah post-wedding.

There were some really funny and entertaining moments in the book. I especially liked the trio of torment. I find children always add an element of mischief and fun that is so different to that of the adults. I enjoyed all the Christmas elements and the snow too.

While this wasn’t my favourite Tilly book I do look forward to seeing what she brings us next time.
