Another hit by Tilly Tennant!
I really loved everything about this book. The setting for the wedding sounded perfect and everything someone could ask for. I really hope there’s a follow on for this book, I’d love to hear Noah’s story

Another good book by Tilly.

Libby is bridesmaid for her best friend Willow who is getting married on Christmas Eve. The location is one dreams’s are made of, a stately home covered in snow. The snow continue to fall and all power is lost stopping the guests leaving. Libby meets Noah a friend of the groom from America. They have a Christmas Day like no other with Libby’s ex Rufus revealing secrets that can only lead to trouble. Will Libby follow her heart to make the right decision for her own happy ending.

A sweet and solid read. Libby is a kind well organized heroine who has come through a very difficult year. She has lost her baby and then found out that her fiancé, Rufus the heel, was having an affair with her cousin. She is still raw and plagued with self doubt over the break up, but she pulls herself together for her role as a bridesmaid to her friend. At the wedding she meets Noah, a friend of the bridegroom, who now lives in America. and they grow feelings for each over the wedding when the snow strands all the guest at the hotel for Christmas. Things gets a little complicated when her stalkerish selfish ex shows up wanting to reconcile, while Noah seems hesitant about pursuing the attraction between them and Libby is left guessing what is holding him back.

Although this takes place over a very short period of time it feels very much like a slow-burn romance. Everything about the story and the two main characters was very wholesome and grounded. It started out very strong, but because the middle part of the book dragged a little, with too many details of the wedding events, I grew a little fatigued as the story got on. All in all an 3.5 out of 4.

This book was an enjoyable, sweet, romance. Seemed a bit drawn out at times.
Libby and Noah meet at a friend's wedding. Things seem to keep going wrong for the bride and groom - blizzard, no power,_ and for Libby. Her ex-fiance, Rufus, shows up at the wedding and causes chaos for Libby and Noah.
Had a lot of fun moments, enjoyed the trio of torment. At times Libby's character was a bit whiny for me.

I very much enjoyed this book, the story, the characters and it has certainly got me into the Christmas spirit (even if it is only September)! The story follows Libby, a woman who is rather unlucky in love as her boyfriend has been cheating on her with her own cousin. All things aside, it’s her best friends wedding so she has to put on a brave face. At the wedding she notices an attractive stranger. He is polite, funny, sweet, generous and kind - but is he hiding something?

I loved Libby as a character - she was sweet and loyal to a fault. I adored the setting of a Christmas wedding and enjoyed the fact they got snowed in as it allowed for good character development! I particularly enjoyed the snowball fight and thought it was a nice touch.

I perhaps would have liked to seen a little more to the ending as I always want to see more of a happily ever after,. I can never get enough of them! Noah and Libby were a perfect match despite numerous obstacles and things being in the way.

I do enjoy a Tilly Tennant book and I did enjoy this one - to a degree. I felt at times that it was quite long and rambling - Libby's ex is a pain bordering on stalker and the man she meets at the wedding, well he seems to good to be true.

The ending of the book I felt was very abrupt. Especially as I thought I had 36 minutes left in the book (I do always allow 5 minutes for extracts and an authors note but 36 minutes is ridiculous!)

When I read the book description I thought I was going to like it. It just didn't work for me.
The only thing I liked was how Libby finally got to be happy at the end. At least she met Noah, who will probably make her happy. During the wedding I could feel that there was some chemistry between the two, but I was getting annoyed every time about the Rufus situation. I get that Libby suffered a lot and deserves to be happy, but reading all the time about Rufus and how she didn't wanted him there and talk to him was a bit boring.

Libby's fiancé Rufus cheated on her with her cousin. Now, 6 months later, she's in her BFF Willow's wedding and trying to keep it together. There's a cute groomsman- Noah- who catches her eye. When the wedding party is snowed in, they have the opportunity to bond. But Noah has a sort of secret which will factor into her decision about a possible future. No spoilers from me. There really aren't surprises here because Tenant telegraphs the twists. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. It's not my favorite of Tennant's work but it's a good read for a rainy day.

This book took a while to get into. It was a fun premise, but there were way too many chapters of just nothing much happening. I almost didn’t finish it because I was waiting for anything interesting to happen. Overall it ended up being enjoyable enough to finish, but not enough for me to really recommend it.

Plot: Libby is in a stagnant job, and in life, as she helps her best friend prepare for her wedding. Then she finds out her own fiance has been having an affair with her cousin. During her friend's wedding, to help get over her ex, she strikes up a conversation with Noah, a friend to the groom. In the environmental disaster, and consequences to the wedding occur, Libby's ex and friend keep trying to tell her something about Noah, and Libby must eventually decide how to respond.

My Review: Unfortunately, this book wasn't my cup of tea, and I rated it 3 stars. While I didn't hate it, per se, I didn't love it. I typically crave a good love story, and the romance in this book wasn't the main focus, but more of an addition to Libby's character, and nothing exciting/unique. In my opinion, I really spent the whole book just trying to figure out what was happening, and what the point of the story was. Sadly, I got to the end of the book, and no part of the plot stood out.

I experienced so many emotions whilst reading this book, i laughed and cried, i was hopeful and heartbroken. I was gripped from the start and i didnt want the book to end. A really good book.

Christmas! A wedding! An attractive, charming stranger! Snowed in at a beautiful hotel during a blizzard! So much to love about My Best Friend's Wedding, but the execution of all these potential ideas just fell a little flat. Libby is the bridesmaid for her best friend Willow's Christmas Eve wedding at the lovely Lovage Hall. As happy as she is for her friend, she's a bit sad too, since its only been six months since she should have gotten married - instead she's single and a little bitter and feeling a lot sorry for herself. Her fiancé Rufus had an affair with her cousin after Libby suffers a miscarriage, which results in a (false positive) pregnancy for the cousin, who confesses to Libby just before the wedding that she had the affair, she's pregnant, and they're in love. Enter - attractive stranger at the wedding. The wedding that her ex insists upon attending to try, so while she's fighting him off, she's also trying to get to know Noah, who she feels a connection with...

There was a lot going on here... the chaos at the beginning with her cousin and ex-fiancé, which seems to simultaneously be underplayed and yet is also Libby's defining character. In fact, it seemed to be her only personality trait - actually, all the characters lacked depth and development. Rufus was an arrogant and possessive ex. Willow was a selfish, bratty bridezilla. I felt zero connection with the characters and could not seem to find the actual attraction or chemistry between Libby and Noah. The narration was very cut and dry and seems to jump from one thing to another quickly. I might have been able to look past these things a bit, but the real deal breaker for me was Libby's total hypocrisy when it comes to infidelity. For someone who so recently had her heart broken by someone who was unfaithful, she sure had no problem looking past the fact that Noah was actually married. After barely knowing him for a full 48 hours, she is just happy to carry on a relationship with him without a second thought?!?! And then the book just abruptly ends, just like that? I just can't get on board with it...

Another good read by Tilly Tennant. What could be better than a Christmas wedding? Sounds great in theory but a series of events make it somewhat chaotic. The story is written from the point of the chief bridesmaid whose own wedding had to be cancelled a few months previously. Put together her ex fiancé, a handsome stranger, a handful of lively flower girls, snow, power cuts and other things besides and you are guaranteed that you will be well entertained.

I love a Tilly Tennant book, The characters are always relatable and fun and the story is always beautifully written. Loved this one.

This is a slow burning, warming, uplifting romance. I think it’s suitable for all ages and has a bit of everything. It’s quite genteel, possibly suited more to younger adults than those looking for something a bit more adult.

Most of the action takes place over Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day, which could have made the story feel quite rushed, but it was timed perfectly.

The main character of Libby is kind and hard working and loving and loyal, but she is also quite wallowing and one-dimensional. I don’t mean that as a negative comment on the writing or characterisation, but more that she seems to have a one track mind. There are a few main characters - Libby, Noah, Rufus, Willow, Tomas - and they’re all well written and have their negatives and positives.

Libby’s best friend Willow’s wedding is the setting for 90% of this book, and whilst the idea of it sounds good, a Christmas Eve wedding just sounds like a recipe for disaster, regardless of how romantic snow can be. Having said that, I can’t think of any other book that chooses Christmas as a wedding setting, and I felt there was a lot of promise with that premise.

It’s not necessarily the top of my Christmas book list, but it is definitely an enjoyable and sweet light festive read.

This was a short and light read for me and the characters were all okay but overall i was getting bored quickly and i felt like the plot was lacking. Maybe this is one of those books I’ll come back to and enjoy later.

Book Review

I really liked the description of this book, and I thought it would be definitely in my wheel house.

Unfortunately, this was not one of my favorites. I thought it started strong. I felt for Libby. Her fiancé cheating on her with her cousin and the loss of the baby… It really did have me in her corner.

However, even though this book was supposed to be about her and Noah, most of her thoughts still centered around Rufus. It was a bit distracting and repetitive in the story for her always to go back to him. And honestly with Noah, I didn’t really see much chemistry between them. They had a couple of interesting conversations, but nothing that made it seem as intense as it was supposed to be.

I also was a bit peeved at the ending because it turns out that Noah is married, and Libby decides that she can still see him and it’s ok? She was mad at Rufus (rightfully so) but is now alright with Noah having a significant other? I know he said it was going to be resolved, but she also just met him 2 days ago.

Libby spends her day fitting men in tailored suits, dreaming of the day she would get to see her Fiance Rufus wearing one at the end of the aisle. And with the day drawing closer, she can almost hear the 'I do'. Everything is looking perfect and she can't wait to marry her Mr Right - until he leaves her suddenly ... for her own cousin.

She'd tried not to think about weddings, or Rufus at all but now that it's time for her to be a bridesmaid in her best friends wedding, there's no escaping him or the truth. In this beautiful snowy manor, she celebrates her friend finding her own happily ever after while grieving over own... and then she meets Noah. He seems perfect ... but then again, so did Rufus. So when Libby finds out secrets both of these men have been keeping from her, she has to ask herself - what does it really take to live happily ever after?

Tilly Tennant has a way of setting a scene beautifully - this had the makings of a hallmark christmas movie that you'd definitely end up watching while drinking too many snowballs. The entire story took place over just a few days and mostly in one place, so her control of the surroundings were executed perfectly. There was plenty of just-festive-enough feelgood moments, hilarious wedding mishaps and sickly sweet romance throughout to get you in the mood for grabbing the biggest blanket you have and getting out the mulled wine.

However, for me although I definitely felt for Libby and her heartbreak, I couldn't help but dislike the poor choices she made and the questionable justification she had for them. I found her a flimsy narrator in points, spending too long on one thought and found her a little hypocritical so I couldn't ever fully connect with her as a character.
