"Christmas Surprises at Mermaids Point" by Sarah Bennett is a delightful holiday read that captures the essence of Christmas with love, laughter, and heartwarming moments. Set in the charming town of Mermaids Point, the story weaves together the lives of its residents as they prepare for the festive season.

Nerissa and Tom, in their first Christmas as a couple, navigate the challenges of blending their families and creating their own festive traditions. The author skillfully portrays the intricacies of love and family dynamics, making the characters relatable and endearing.

Laurie and Jake, busy running a seafront café, face unexpected twists in their plans when Jake's mom presents them with a surprising gift. The storyline keeps readers engaged with its mix of romance, work, and the magic of Christmas surprises.

Alex's journey, recovering from a past betrayal and keeping a secret life, adds depth to the narrative. The Christmas spirit weaves its magic, paving the way for Alex to open up to the possibility of love sooner than he anticipated.

Andrew's emphasis on family resonates throughout the book, creating a reflective and heartwarming atmosphere as friends and family gather beneath his roof. The themes of love, forgiveness, and hope are expertly intertwined, adding layers to the overall narrative.

Nick's longing for pop sensation Aurora Storm brings a touch of nostalgia and romance to the story. The question of whether Christmas is the perfect time to reach out to the 'one that got away' keeps readers intrigued, adding a fairy-tale element to the narrative.

Sarah Bennett's writing is engaging, evoking the spirit of Christmas and the warmth of community. The characters are well-developed, and the plot is both heartening and entertaining. "Christmas Surprises at Mermaids Point" is a four-star festive treat that captures the magic of the holiday season.

I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Festively charming, an absolute delight!

It wouldn't be Christmas without reading a Sarah Bennett book, would it? I have read quite a few of her backlist and I have to admit that out of all of her gorgeous stories there is something incredibly magical that happens when she pens a new festive romance and this one is just as sparkling and wholesome as every other one I have read.

Christmas Surprises at Mermaids Point is a wonderful quick read, a one-sitting novella which will make you absolutely put you into the Christmas spirit..

I loved the story, I like how it connects the previous book and gives a brief glimpse into what may come, this is just a bridge and will appeal to any reader whether they are seasoned Sarah Bennett readers are new readers, it will appeal to all.

Overall, it's cheerful and seasonal..

I didn't know this was a novella upon requesting, but I really enjoyed it. I sped through it, and thought it a lovely festive read. However, it may have been better to have read the previous books in the series before picking this up for full immersion in the community,

Sarah Bennett books are like warm cosy hugs. Plenty of drama and intrigue to keep you enthralled with a cast of lovely characters you will love.

Christmas Surprises at Mermaids Point heads back to the Point to catch up on favourites from previous books to see their lives moving forward as the make plans for the future and celebrate Christmas.

This is a book that is really for fans of The series as there are loads of references to previous books and the, sometimes complex, relationships between the characters have already been established.

Laurie and Jake are hopelessly in love and thinking about a home of their own. Nerissa is settling into jet role as step-mum. Its her forst Christmas with Tom and they have balance remembering the children’s mother with creating new Christmas traditions. Nick is still heartbroken after his romance with Aurora. And Ivy and Alex are flirting, well almost, and trying to decide if they are brave enough to follow their own dreams.

This a short book and quick read, but it sets up lots of exciting possibilities for the future.

Mermaids Point is full of Christmas joy, hope and community spirit. It’s definitely one of my favourite fictional towns and I have no doubt I’ll be visiting again soon.
