This book might be a surprise. Instead of examining books or libraries as the title might imply, it uses books as a springboard to offer quips, thoughts and commentary. The layout and presentation are certainly clever and very colorful. The book cover paintings are almost childlike, making the book whimsical. Many of the imagined titles are pointed and funny and the scope is broad, yet straightforward. But the book offers these simple statements without a unified theme or cohesive purpose. While it is entertaining and remarkable in its simplicity, one might yearn for a little more.

This really is a book to dip in and out of otherwise it quickly becomes tiresome and unfunny.
It is the ultimate in coffee table books and for me while a few of the illustrations made me smile it didn't every really capture my imagination.

I see no point in this ‘book’. Page after page of naive drawings of book shapes with titles written on. After two pages it wore thin after five pages I was board. It look like it was drawn with sharpies. No imagination, no creativity, no good.

Stunning. I really liked the whole concept of book titles as art and the different configurations. After a while It did get a little repetitive but some of the titles were so clever they made me grin.

This one wasn't for me. A few panels made me chuckle, but ultimately it did not accumulate to much, unfortunately. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

Such a witty, fun, thought provoking book that had me laughing out loud many times. Some of the titles had me thinking “I would read that” or “that sounds like a great book”. A great quick read but an enjoyable one .

I had high hopes for this but was really disappointed. Oh I did chuckle at some of the book titles but overall it just failed to hold my attention. The drawings and lettering are very basic, with only some of them sporting illustrations.

Library combines two of my favorite things art and books. Two Canadian contemporary artist painted books with creative titles. I found my self snorting, giggling and outright laughing at some of the titles the authors/painters came up with. A few were so esoteric I'm not sure I caught the humor. This is the kind of book you can read through in 15-20 minutes or you can go slower and read titles aloud to people around you. This is appropriately in the humor section and it brightened up my day. Thank you NetGalley and Drawn and Quarterly for a temporary ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.

I thought this was just okay. Certainly nothing wrong with it, and there were definitely some very funny and astute observations in their witty book titles, but I just don't see why this is a book. The volume means that any truly worthwhile titles get a bit lost amongst the hoard, and the art is very simplistic. As a bookseller I think it is cool, but I don't know that the average consumer would find much value in it.
