Another great addition to this wonderful series! Jo Bartlett so effortlessly weaves multiple character storylines and interesting delivery stories - you never feel like the different storylines are interrupting one another or just there to fill pages. It's nice to get little check-ins with the main characters from the previous books.

We know from the previous books that Toni and Bobby have had something going on between them and I have been looking forward to finding out exactly what that something was. I understood Toni's reasons for not being open about her relationship with Bobby, but there were so many times I just wanted to smack her upside the head. I would have preferred her and Bobby just fighting it out rather than just giving up and making zero progress. I also found it a little frustrating how Bobby kept going back and forth on what he was willing to put up with - one second he's done and the next he's saying he wants whatever he can get. The redeeming part of all that was that Toni didn't wait to be sure she had a future with Bobby before having the "talk" with her parents and in-laws and that Bobby was able to gain some new insight. I couldn't believe neither of them had ever considered the idea of keeping Aaron's parents a part of their lives earlier than they did, but it made that final scene so much sweeter.

I'm really hoping the next book wraps up Jess's story. I'm so interested in getting to meet her ex and find out more about why he's suddenly so interested in getting back together. And, of course, I have to know if Dexter continues to be a part of her life!

This is the third book of the Cornish Midwives and it was so good as the two others . It was Toni story about the guilt she felt after her fiance died five years ago . For the last three years had a secret affair with her coworker Bobby after a promise to her fiance that she will always be in his parents life she did not want to upset them with her moving on with her life . Bobby was right to want more because he really loved her .
I received this book from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I received an advance copy of, A Winter's Wish for the Cornish Midwife, by Jo Bartlett. There is a lot going on in the Cornish village. A male midwife, is the village ready for that? A lot of secrets and babies in this story.

A winters wish for the Cornish midwife is book three in the series but I read it as a stand alone book and that certainly didn’t detract from the experience!
Based in idyllic beautiful cornwall in a midwife led unit, we are introduced to a varied mix of a team each with their own trials and tribulations. Toni is at a crossroads in her relationship of many years when her fiancée dies unexpectedly, after a period of mourning Toni tries to resume life again but is governed by misplaced loyalties to her fiancees family and year after year continues in this vein despite the detrimental effect to her own personal life and the relationship she has forged with the very patient, loving Bobby a male midwife within the team who has been kept a secret for years! An unexpected finding throws Tonis life into turmoil, we follow her emotional turmoil as she makes difficult choices along the way! Would love to see a follow up from this book.
Thank you netgalley for this early read.

Time to return to Cornwall and back to the Port Agnes Midwifery Unit.

Anna is pregnant and this book looks at the story behind Toni's past. Toni has decisions to make but is her past holding her back from happiness?

Old characters reappear and new faces are part of the midwifery unit.

It's easy to read and perfect for fans of Call The Midwife.

I think this is the best one in the series so far. You can read it as a stand alone. You got a lot more birth and baby details. Gosh you felt for Bobby, being in love and as a male midwife. I don’t know how I would have felt with a man being my midwife. A book that made you think. Toni had so much guilt and it was wrong. The ending was beautiful with the elderly couple. A feel good read

I had not read any of the other books in the Cornish Midwives series so I can safely say this is a standalone book.
After this gem I have now added to my “to be read “ pile !
It is both a heartbreaking and heartwarming read, great location, strong likeable characters and a well thought out plot . Toni and Bobby were the main characters in this book, add in Jess, Anna and Ella’s stories and it was a first class read. I would highly recommend this book, a fantastic read
Thank you to Netgalley, Boldwood Books and Jo Bartlett for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review

Port Agnes Midwifery Unit, as we once again join Toni, Anna, Ella and Jess all midwives, as the story is mainly focus on Toni and her relationship with co worker Bobby and why it's been a kept secret for the past three years as been just good friends to their friends and family, and also to read about the fostering process through Jess. It's a must read.
Oh me I loved it, I didn't want to waste a second of reading this beautiful story as we grow to love all the characters and their support in the job's they do and the added bonus of two also now expectant mother's themselves that will await us in hopefully the next book in this delightful series

I was ever so excited when I was able to pick this up and have the opportunity to read this wonderful story. The cover caught my attention at first even though I am reading this on a day that is extremely hot outside!!
I love the show "Call The Midwife". This often made me think of the show. The Cornish midwives were all compassionate and wonderful in their jobs. They were a great team. They all genuinely cared for each other. But it seemed that Bobby and Toni's secret was threatening all that they have worked so hard to accomplish.

I could have shook Toni many times. She was feeling responsible for things that were way out of her control. I couldn't stand the thought of what Toni could have lost. She sacrificed way too much. Didn't she deserve to be happy?

I am looking forward to reading more books by Jo Bartlett. It was a joy to read.

The Cornish midwife books are fast becoming a favourite of mine. LOVED this one and have already recommended it to others. It works great as a stand alone but I’d definitely recommend reading the others as they’re great too.

I loved this the third book about the Cornish Midwife but what a heartbreaking story. I loved returning to the lifes of Anna,, Jess, Bobby, Toni and Ella. Anna’s pregnancy is blooming and Jess’s progress with becoming a foster mum is inspirational and you want to give her a hug and wish her well. But boy did Toni’s story have you laughing, crying, shouting, I think it bought out all my emotions. I didn’t want it to end and cannot wait for book four so that their stories, I hope all have happy endings and Ella gets the wedding of her dreams with the man of her dreams

A Winter's Wish by Jo Bartlett.

As winter descends on the coastal town of Port Agnes, midwife Toni Samuels’ mood is as dark as the winter clouds that roll in. Toni loves her job as a midwife, but her private life is falling apart. Because Toni is keeping a secret– a relationship with fellow male midwife Bobby that no one can ever know about.I

I didn't know my life was incomplete because I hadn't heard of Jo Bartletts books before !
I love , love love this book and will definitely look out for the Port Agnes midwives series.
