This was a good binge read - it kept me hooked to find out what happened to Greg. However, I did feel that there was far too much going on with the story; that there were twists just for the sake of it. I really enjoyed the last quarter of the book - I did not guess what was going to happen!

It’s been a while since I’ve read a book by Kathryn Croft.but The Other Husband has reminded me just what I’ve been missing.as with all her books and this one is no exception it is well written with short chapters to keep you interested in the story.Abby and Rob move to London and meet Greg and Sienna and become firm friends until one drunken night when everything goes wrong when they agree to swap husbands for the night and secrets are revealed by both Rob and Greg that have far reaching consequences for all of them. And when Holly,Greg’s ex wife becomes involved with Jackson his son things get even more complicated,I found the book an easy read with a great ending which I hadn’t guessed for a moment, all in all The Other Husband is a good 4 star read from Kathryn Croft.

I enjoyed this book, exploring the relationship between two couples and what happens when they decide to ‘swap’ partners for a night. How does one of them end up dead? What happened on that night and who is holding what over who? There are many twists and turns and unexpected developments and the pace moved along nicely.

However it all felt a little bit cluttered - everyone seemed to have a secret and the ultimate revelation was a bit of a disappointment. The reason for the killing was never really explained, nor the aftermath, and the back story relating to Greg’s past misdemeanours appeared to just be a red herring to pad things out / insert a sub plot. It sort of withered and died without adding much to the actual
Story.

The book was well written and overall enjoyable but it wasn’t my favourite of Kathryn Croft’s. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for the ARC.

A solid four star read. Great premise. Well written. Good characters. Page turner. Plenty of suspense to keep me guessing .A twist at the end that I did not see coming.
Definitely would read the next novel. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

Abi meets Sienna at a cancelled exercise class and they soon become friends.
Their husbands, Rob & Greg eventually meet and they all become good friends. One night, Sienna suggests drunkenly they do a husband swop for one night. Whilst Rob is very unsure, Greg is willing to go along with it But Sienna insists there will be no hanky panky.
So Rob, Abi's husband stays with Sienna for the night and Greg, Sienna's husband stays with Abi. The next day nothing is the same again. You are kept on edge wondering what has happened between Greg & Abi as the marriages fall apart and Greg goes missing. This was a very gripping read and I was shocked at the end. Unputdownable. My first book by Kathryn Croft and am looking forward to her next novel.

Abby and Sienna have become good friends after meeting at a missed pilates class. They get together with their husbands one evening to all get to know each other better. After a few drinks Sienna suggested that it would be fun to do a husband swap just for the one night just a sleepover nothing more.
Abbys husband Rob is unsure but Greg Sienna's husband is all for it.
It's only for fun and only the one time what can go wrong?
What happened at the two houses to change things for the two couples?,secrets are told that change their life's forever.
My first read of a Kathryn Croft book and I really enjoyed it, very well written plenty of twists and turns and a ending I didn't see coming.
I will be reading more by this author.

A fabulous and wicked tale of two couples whose friendship suddenly comes to a screeching and terrifying end as a forbidden love affair ensues. A great read!

Kathryn Croft's 'The Other Husband' tells the tale of two couples - equally as unhappy in their marriages, and equally as unwilling to admit it. The suspense begins when one of the four goes missing - and it is clear someone must know who why.

I am unfamiliar with Croft's previous work thus went into this title a little unsure what to expect (for I found the synopsis fascinating), yet I found this a superb read. Mystery is such a hard genre to perfect - but Croft did so with ease, with just the correct balanace of suspense and reveal, red herrings and - of course - a perfectly executed, multiple perspective conclusion to the novel. Each character was masterfully written, flawed and, by the conclusion of the novel, I felt as though they were real people.

Probably one of the best mystery novels I've read this year - the domestic setting of it all allowed you to really understand the characters, for the majority of the book was spent reading from the perspective of the two wives - Abby and Sienna.

An incredible read, an easy five stars and I will certainly be keeping my eye out for anything this author publishes in future. Thank you to Canelo and Netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an unbiased review :)

I had a lovely time with this book and although a few parts were predictable, I enjoyed the ride Kathryn Croft took me on. What are the consequences of seemingly innocent decisions? And how can they turn lives upside down? Gripping read!

This book had me guessing right up until the very last chapter. Told from a dual perspective I could never quite decide which characters I trusted and which characters I suspected. It was well-written, well-structured and fast paced I couldn’t put it down. A perfect thriller!

I really enjoyed this thriller. it was gripping and although some parts were slightly predictable that didnt take away from the genral atmosphere or enjoyment of the novel. The characters were well written and relatable.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Kathryn Croft at her best. She never disappoints. An excellent, captivating psychological thriller.
Stories told from both viewpoints: Abby and Sienna, who meet at a pilates class and as the tension and suspense build, we have no idea what its all leading to.
The anticipation of something dreadful about to happen, had me reading into the night. I was completely gripped and stunned by the ending.
Highly recommended.

Abby and Sienna are delighted to become friends, and soon start to meet up along with their husbands. Then one night at a dinner party, they make a decision that will affect their future friendships and also their lives. Abby keeps a secret of what happened between her and Sienna's husband Greg, and then suddenly Greg disappears. Is he running from his secrets, or is someone else stopping him from sharing them? A gripping thriller that keeps you turning the pages until the shocking conclusion. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. I was super excited when I saw Kathryn had a new book out, but sadly this one wasn't as good as her previous book. I just didn't feel like the suspense was there. Yes there was a twist at the end of the book, but it just didn't feel like much of a twist. I'm not sure what it was. Had this been written by an author I had not known, I'm not sure I would have even finished it.

The Devastating Consequences Of Fun…?
When an idea thrown out amidst the fun and high spirits of a dinner party is taken up by two couples things spiral out of all control and may well have devastating consequences. An entertaining suspense with a credible cast and an intriguing premise and a read which holds plenty of twists that the reader may or may not see coming.

The best thing I could say about this book was that I read it in one day, It is one of those books which you fly through whilst simultaneously trying to make it last by taking your time reading it. The eternal bookworm's dilemma.

Here, Abby and Sienna become friends both needing each other. Abby has recently moved home and has no friends in the local area and Sienna feels excluded from her husband's circle of friends and their wives. Their friendship becomes deeper and their husbands Rob and Greg also become friends.

When a night of platonic 'wife-swap' goes wrong and Greg goes missing, Abby and Sienna's friendship crumbles as secrets are uncovered and lives are torn apart.

The story is told from the alternating perspectives of Abby and Sienna which really assists the storyline seeing how events unfold from both the main characters.

The ending is also fantastic and is a real gut punch for the reader.

Highly recommended, must read novel!

My thanks to NetGalley and publisher Canelo for the electronic copy.

This is an intriguing read. It's cleverly plotted with lots of mis-direction and a sensational twist; it's well-written although all the main characters are really rather "insipid".

The story revolves around two couples: Abby and Rob have moved from Ipswich to London for Rob's promotion, Abby leaving her deputy head job in a school; she has no friends and throws herself into sorting out their new house. She is lonely and is finding it increasingly difficult to engage with Rob - because she has a secret which she knows she must relate to him.
Sienna, previously a medical secretary and married to Greg a consultant, presents a gregarious front to others, but she has low self-worth, knowing that Greg's hospital friends' wives look down on her - she's obviously not suitable for Greg as Holly, his ex-wife, had been. Sienna finds it increasingly difficult to engage with Greg as well as his teenaged son who stays with them over weekends.

Meeting at a fitness class, Sienna and Abby becomes friends; Abby wants Sienna's help with designs for her house - Sienna sees the work as the gateway to a new business idea. One evening all four have dinner at Sienna and Greg's house which results in agreement to "swap" husbands for the rest of the night (nothing sexual - only company). With the benefit of copious alcohol and someone different to talk to, secrets are shared; the consequences of those conversations prove to be devastating.

Then............Greg goes missing and Sienna is convinced Abby has something to do with it.

What secrets are now out there? Did each pair actually only "talk" that evening?

Although I did find this an intriguing plot - and the twist I didn't see coming - I thought it to be a little lengthy for what it was; the narrative became somewhat repetitive as Abby and Sienna battle each others' assumptions.

Worth a read to give your brain a bit of a workout!

Abby and Sienna become fast friends after meeting at a cancelled Pilates class. They start spending time together with their husbands. One night Sienna suggests that they do a wife swap type of thing just to see how the other couple lives. Nothing will ever be the same in their friendship or their marriages.

3.5 stars.

I have liked a lot of this author's past novels. I don't think this was the best. I just felt that there were too many things that were farfetched, starting with the wife swap scenario. I also was annoyed that following the wife swap, they kept eluding to the secrets they were keeping, which is annoying to me. There were twists and turns, and overall it wasn't a bad book, it just wasn't as smooth as some of her past books. I will read more from this author though.
