Colleen Hoover has done it again with this one, Reminders of Him seriously broke my heart!! Definitely have a box of tissues at the ready for this one that’s for sure. I didn’t want this book to end I loved it so much!!
I felt so many emotions reading Reminders of Him it is such a beautiful story that will stay with me. If you love Colleen Hoover’s books you’ll love this one.. I preordered the physical copy a while ago and I can’t wait for my physical copy to arrive as it will be a lovely addition to my collection. Thank you so much to @amazonpublishing @colleenhoover and @netgalley for giving me the opportunity to review a digital arc of such an amazing book

Okay, THIS is the classic Colleen Hoover book I've been longing for her past few new releases!! This one was mature (I find I don't love her books that have overdramatic, angsty teens), heartfelt and so well written. Such a great story of a woman who works her hardest to reintegrate back into society after time in prison, trying to get some time with her young daughter.

Read this if you:
*want to cry your eyes out
*love CoHo books
*want a new favorite book
What can I say about this one?! This was an incredible book about mistakes, consequences, love, forgiveness, sad, loneliness, joy, happiness, and more. This book was raw and real. I had tears streaming down my face at multiple points in this book. I couldn’t put it down. This book lifted my faith in humanity. This was beautifully written. It was truly heartbreaking but also heartwarming at the same time. Forgiving the past and creating a future is such a good lesson. GO READ THIS BOOK NOW.
Thank you NetGalley & Amazon Publishing for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. Pub date: Jan 18

I have loved every single Colleen Hoover book I’ve read. This one is hands down at the top. From the first sentence to the last I could not put it down . A mother’s love is a mother’s love is a mother’s love.. An emotional s story about grief, sacrifice, loss, healing and the power of forgiveness and some steam to add spice to this drama makes for an enjoyable tearjerker .

How did I get so lucky!? 🤗
It truly made my whole YEAR that @amazonpublishing and @netgalley provided me with and early copy of “Reminders of Him” by Colleen Hoover! Thank you!!
*happy dance*
This is another home run from our fave CoHo, no surprise there.
This book was so much more than I think I was emotionally prepared for. It was a journey of a mother trying to reunite with her 4 year old daughter after spending time in prison for a tragic accident. It was about heartache, loss, healing, and starting over.
With of course, an unexpected romance in the mix. 😉
With the powerful and sweeping storytelling we felt and experienced in “It Ends With Us”, I highly anticipate this one to reach readers in a way they will never forget.

Oh Colleen Hoover....you suck the soul out of me with every single book but this was epically hard!
Kenna is fresh out of prison five years after a tragic accident. She is on a mission to find the paternal grandparents of the daughter she had and find some way to be a part of her life.
Along the way she meets Ledger and he is oddly connected to her daughter. Kenna and Ledger struggle to find balance between fighting their chemistry and keeping distance from the family Kenna has lost.
This book is bound to induce ALL THE TEARS!! Make sure you are prepared with tissues for this tragically beautiful piece of art!
Thank you Montlake for the advanced readers copy of this gorgeous book.

Reminders of Him is a new contemporary romance which follows Kenna Rowan, a young woman desperately wanting to regain control of her life. After a tragic set of events and one fatal mistake, she is sentenced to five years in prison and we meet her at the end of her sentence. With little money, no friends, no family but a determined plan, she embarks on a difficult journey to the town where it all began. The only place which can connect her to the daughter she lost custody of. Kenna knows her practically impossible task - to regain trust she has broken, to mend wounds which will never heal, to rebuild bridges which are no longer there, however, her one and only goal is to finally meet her baby girl and become the mother she has always dreamed of. Upon arriving into the town, she bumps into a kind, young man - Ledger Ward, who might be the only person able to actually help her. Too bad they share common history and as soon as he discovers who she really is, things get extremely complicated.
I went into this story completely blind, with little expectations behind the meaning of the title. Reminders of Him is a book about loss, loneliness, despair and redemption where we are put in a very difficult situation trying to find out who has 'right' in a scenario with no 'black and white' sides. This book will make you think and feel helpless, not knowing who to root for or who to blame. It is needless to say that there will be lots of tears- happy, sad, angry but good news is that it has a happy ending!!
Colleen did an amazing job in building Kenna's character - a broken, vulnerable and damaged heroine who doesn't allow anything to stop her from going after what she believes in and proving that there is always light at the end of the tunnel even in the most hopeless situations.
I am so grateful I had the opportunity to read this heartbreaking story before release day so huge thanks go to Amazon publishing for sending me an early copy of this book.

I just think 5 stars will be so less to rate this book. When I first heard that the Colleen was releasing another book, I just knew it was going to be an emotional one.. There were so many emotions I felt while reading book. I cried, smiled, laughed throughout the book. I am so glad I got to read this earlier than expected; all thanks to amazon publishing for sending me an a digital arc. I can’t wait for other people to read this book!!

Colleen Hoover yet again does not disappoint. This book had me hooked from the beginning to the end and now that I’ve finished it, I do not know what to do with myself. This story is heartbreakingly gorgeous and I instantly fell in love with all of the characters. I cannot recommend this book enough!

I cannot get enough Colleen Hoover and so when we had the chance to read an advance copy of Reminders of Him I started it immediately upon download. I’ve said it before and will say it again - I love the real life struggles that CoHo threads through her romance novels. I felt so many emotions while reading this novel and adored all of the character arcs and development. Kenna is a different kind of heroine and our journey learning who Kenna is happens alongside Ledger. As I try to do with most CoHo books I went in blind, and I am really glad I did for this emotional roller coaster. I finished this book, through tears, while on an early morning flight and had the urge to turn back to page one and start again.
Thank you Amazon Publishing and Montlake for the ARC!

I was sent this book from the publisher/publicity team. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review.
I have been a Colleen Hoover fan for years and read everything she writes. I already have this pre-ordered and was excited to jump into the E-book.
This is a romance within a romance within a romance. You are really getting multiple levels of different stories: a former love, a current love, and a mother/daughter/grandparent/child love. The story is really heavy on the relationship between Kenna and her daughter. The romance between her and Ledger does take a back seat to this for most of the story. I really enjoyed it as they built their relationship and we got to know more about them and their relationship apart from Scotty and Diem. There was a nice balance of both.
There were some twists thrown in and different level emotions throughout. I found myself tearing up the first time Ledger let Kenna in to know more around Diem. I also loved the letters Kenna was writing to Scotty. The more I read, the more I wanted to know how everything was going to come to a head and unfold.
This is a very emotional read and I ended up crying the last hour or so of the book. This is such an amazing story around forgiveness: forgiveness to yourself and to others. Colleen Hoover never seems to fail me and this was no exception. I loved it.

Colleen Hoover will forever be an automatic buy for me, and REMINDERS OF HIM is no exception. I seriously loved this book - so much so that I stayed up until 2am two nights in a row to read more. She has a way of making a story where there is pain and no resolution, where bad things happen, but where characters are dynamic and therefore more than a sum of mistakes. I appreciate her ability to tackle these difficult situations and have characters that are so much more than one bad moment. We all are.

I happened to be one of the lucky ones to get an ARC of this book.
I can't stop crying...tears but the best kind good kind..ugly cry...when they stream down your face.
This book touch my heart in all the right spots.
Can never say enough great things about Colleen Hoover drawing you into her books and the characters.
You live them..you are them.
Wow!

4.5 stars
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh...
Does Colleen Hoover live to break our hearts?
Yes.
Do I mind?
No.
It’s rare for me to finish a book in one day. But here we are. I could say so much but just get this one when it comes out in 2022 and find out for yourselves.
One of the best CoHo books.
That is all.

Who is an auto-buy author of yours?
For me, and for so many others, this distinction belongs to the incomparable Colleen Hoover, also affectionately known as Coho. So you can only imagine how beyond thrilled I was to get the chance to read and review her newest book, Reminders of Him, which comes out in January!
This time around Hoover introduces us to Kenna and Ledger. Kenna is a tortured young woman who cannot move past being responsible for the accidental death of the love of her life, Scotty. Sure she’s served her time, figuratively and literally, but memories of that day and the mistakes she made, will haunt her forever. As a therapy of sorts, Kenna writes letters to him ever since he died.
But Kenna didn’t just lose her soulmate that day. Soon after, she gave birth to the daughter she didn’t know she was carrying. With Kenna incarcerated for the accidental crime, her daughter, Diem, goes to live with Scotty’s parents.
Now that nearly five years have past, Kenna returns to town to make amends and win her daughter back. But Kenna is thrown for a loop when she meets and connects with local bar owner, Ledger Ward. Ledger just so happens to be connected to her daughter in more ways than one. Can Kenna find the happily ever after she so desperately desires and more importantly, does she deserve it?
In typical CoHo fashion, this book will wreck you in more ways than one. Hoover has a knack for writing books where there are no easy answers and devastating consequences. Reminders of Him is no exception to her successful algorithm. This book will no doubt appease her legions of fans who will be chomping at the bit to read this…until her next release, that is. 😉

Colleen-freaking-Hoover man. She gets me every damn time. The second Reminders of Him hit my Kindle one Friday evening I promptly waved goodbye to my husband, poured a glass of wine the size of my face, and retreated to my special place (my bed). I only emerged to refill that big ass glass and to retrieve a roll of toilet paper for my tears because somehow in a house full of dudes there are never any tissues, like what are you guys even using them for?
CoHo writes another beautifully complex story of love, loss, grief, and redemption. You will find yourself rooting for Kenna from page one. In the vein of It Ends With Us, Ugly Love, and All Your Perfects you will cry and want to throw the book at the wall, but somehow in the end we all end up thanking Colleen for putting us through the emotional ringer while reading her books like a bunch of masochists. If you haven't read any of her books, what are you waiting for? Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for an eARC of this book.

Kenna Rowan returns to her hometown after serving five years in prison for an accident that took the life of her boyfriend Scotty. She is back hoping to reunite with her four-year-old daughter, Diem. Diem is being raised by Scotty’s parents Grace and Patrick. Kenna ends up meeting Ledger Ward, Scotty’s best friend, and they instantly have a connection. He knows Kenna is sorry for what happened. Can he help reunite Kenna and Scotty's family and keep Kenna in his life too?
This was another unputdownable book by masterpiece writer, Colleen Hoover. I couldn't get through the pages fast enough to see where this story was headed and I was not disappointed. Be prepared for a very emotional read, you may want those tissues close by. I will definitely be recommending this one to my friends.
Many Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.
This review will be posted to my Instagram Blog (@coffee.break.book.reviews) in the near future.

Sensitivity thy name is Colleen! Creator of a Captivating story line that encompasses all the aspects motherhood and redemption. Master of Evocative and compelling prose skills, she manages to keep every story fresh even after a spectacular catalogue in her kitty. Colleen writes with simplicity and stark honesty which resonates with every reader heart all across the globe crossing language & age barriers, her omnipotent power is writing deeply empathetic tales that speak to all of us on a subconscious level.
All the emotions I felt were new, I saw them with new eyes, felt them in a new corner of my soul. this remarkably profound story touched me deep on every level, Being a mother, this story was especially effectual for me.
One remarkable thing to note here is that Colleen didn't turn the story in a favourable direction out of sympathy. She starkly lays out the time line of events, highlighting the imperfections that make human but also manages to elicit sympathy for the characters. All of whom are stuck in the quagmire of debilitating loss.
"It is what it is. A fucked-up situation, with no evil people to blame. We’re all just a bunch of sad people doing what we have to do to make it until tomorrow. Some of us sadder than others. Some of us more willing to forgive than others."
The main story revolves around Scotty whose presence looms large over the left behind people.
His parents, his girlfriend Kenna and his best friend Ledger.
Kenna is THE MOST tragically unfortunate character I've come across in recent years. She is still living the repercussions of a horrendous mistake that wiped out 5 years of Her life and snatched EVERYTHING from her hands. Following her only connection to life, she still returns to a town that has Reminders Of Him at every Nook, cranny & corner. I was in awe of her courage, her bravery, her mettle.
"The girl who smoked the cigarette and didn’t close her eyes during dinner prayer and moaned too loud in your quiet house.
Unremorseful. Uninvolved. Uncaring. Unworthy"
The biggest sentiment front & center is remorse. It effects and shapes each character of the book.
Remorse for actions taken, of being irresponsible, of not closing your eyes at prayer, of not trying hard enough, of just being young, naive and scared. Nothing prepares you for tragedy and everyone grieves differently, is the motto that Colleen hammers home. A lesson to not preconceive any notion about anybody in life, for we don't know how many broken people are breathing amongst us, trying to stay alive one sobbing gasp at a time.
"I think there’s room in a tragedy this size for everyone to be both right and wrong."
The true hero of the story is Ledger. His generosity and compassion is as big as all outdoors. His kindness and reluctant forgiveness form the backbone of the story as he becomes the catalyst for change of perceptions. I mean he did have to bear two jaw knocking punches, a split lip and a proverbial boot in the ass from Roman, but at least he took the first step...thats what counts.
“Sometimes I wonder what Scotty would think if he could see us. It makes me hope that an afterlife doesn’t exist, because if it does, Scotty is probably the only sad person in heaven.”
The entire story is steeped in sadness. I cried from first page to the last. I couldn't read a it fast enough with blurry eyed vision and grieved the loss of these endearing characters when I finished the book.
I remember all the fables and tales I'd read in childhood came with moral at the end.
This tale of unconditional love, sacrifice and absolution comes with a strong one.
Moral : "It proves that time, distance, and devastation allow people enough opportunity to craft villains out of people they don’t even know."
There's a very thin line between Villains and Victims and real maturity is when you can differentiate between the two.
At least 10 Stars for Carpe Diem

i dont think i can adequately describe how quickly i flew through this book. colleen hoover is as reliably good as it gets. she never misses and this is no exception. it was interesting to see how female prisoners experience life after prison and all that comes with it. i also loved lady dianas character and the fact that her role was not simply about her disability but about her personality, which is so important. loved this one so much.

There is not a single Colleen Hoover book that hasn't brought me to an absolute meltdown at some point during the book. The last page of this book unraveled every bit of me, leaving me a blubbering mess. There were a handful of other times my eyes were full of tears, but those didn't come until around 60%. This book was excellent overall, but there was a minute where I wondered if I was going to like it at all.
Obviously I was so eager to dive immediately into this book, so needless to say, there were some pretty high expectations going into it. For the first half of the book or so, it didn't really live up to my CoHo expectations. There were moments I was worried I wasn't connecting to any of it, wasn't enjoying it and wasn't sure if I'd be able to add this to my favourites list. Well, of course, CoHo doesn't fail and doesn't let me down with this one either. I spent most of the book wondering if I even liked the main character, but I realized Colleen Hoover set up the book strategically like that on purpose. She is simply a genius when it comes to writing emotional breakdown inducing stories.
Basically, this is another masterpiece that needs to be read immediately. I would have given it 5 stars, but the first half of the book didn't capture me the way I wanted it to. Bravo, CoHo, for another masterpiece.
