I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book at first, but I truly enjoyed it! A great story about going on a Holiday to try to relax and find yourself and you happen to find just a little bit more while you're there!

An absolutely charming Holiday tale!

T.A. Williams does an amazing job setting the stage for Zoe’s Austrian holiday. I enjoyed the descriptions of the lavish hotel, the picturesque surroundings, and the sophisticated events the friends attended.

More a self discovery, hurt/comfort story than a traditional romance, Dreaming of Christmas is the story of Zoe’s personal journey. Reuniting with school friends, coming to terms with her breakup with her ex, and refocusing her goals for her career come first. With brighter prospects for her future on the horizon, this is an uplifting tale.

Anne Marie Piazza does a lovely job with the narration. There is a wide range of characters and accents, plus a number of traditional Austrian words, and Ms. Piazza keeps the story flowing.

Thank you to Netgalley, TA Williams and Saga Egmont Audio for an audiobook copy of Dreaming of Christmas, all opinions are my own

Well, it had started off nicely with a good audiobook actress. However, the story just dragged on for me and didn't go the way I had expected it to. The characters were hard to root for as well, which makes it hard to get into a book. Perhaps it just wasn't my cup of tea though, as the other reviews are higher rated.

This was my first T. A. Williams’ novel and I absolutely loved it! Thank you NetGalley and Saga Egmont Audio for this ARC audiobook.

The cast of characters was large but the story gave them all a story line that made it easy to keep track. The story was suspenseful enough to keep me entertained. The beautiful setting in that boutique hotel in Austria made me wish I was right there with them..

A group of former flatmates are invited to spend an all-expenses-paid ski holiday in the Alps by a billionaire friend. The Christmas season lends a perfect opportunity for the get-together. Of course, a lot will happen to keep you reading. This is the perfect winter book to read by the fire.

As soon as I saw the cover with Christmas written on it, I knew I had to read it, well, listen to it. It was so fun listening to this book, the narrator was so good and I especially loved how she switched accents. It gave me all the Christmas-y feels and it just made me super excited for it.

Zoe is invited to a holiday with her old friends by one of their old friends who is now rich and able to easily provide a holiday for them all.

When her boss finds out who she is going to be vacationing with, he is determined to have a story. Will his antics work to persuade her to do the story that no one else can get just because they are old friends or will she risk her job to keep his privacy?

Billy is a wealthy entrepreneur with a fondness for the relationships of the past. He and his wife invite several of his old friends for the holidays.

Zoe has to confront her ex while away on holiday. Will her feelings for Grant return or will she find someone new?

All of Zoe’s friends have problems of their own and when Zoe finds out more than she imagined will she be able to handle it or will she crumble?

Zoe and Billy get closer and closer throughout the holiday. They are constantly off skiing together and finding plenty to do together all alone.

Billy has a secret of his own. Will it turn Zoe against him once and for all?

Overall, this was an interesting romance with plenty going on. There are multiple people to keep track of so if that is something you dislike you might want to skip this one but I found it pretty easy to follow. I think this is going to be a cute holiday read. If you like skiing, snow, Christmas vacations, friendships, drama, ex’s and so much more this might be something for you.

Although, this is portrayed as a Christmas story there are not as much Christmas in the story as you might think. There is Christmas Day at the end of the book and there’s talk of presents but overall the Christmas vibe just wasn’t there for me.

I did really enjoy this story and I think Anne Marie Piazza did a great job narrating this book. However, I did think the men’s voices were very similar and kind of weird, even creepy. I do think I would listen to more narrations by her though.

This was an enjoyable audiobook, and book. On the whole a well written Christmas read and full of detailed description of the Alps and the all expenses paid holiday Zoe takes with her old pals from uni. Zoe has been getting on with life since her long term boyfriend dumped her last Christmas eve after dating since uni. When her old friend from uni, now a self made billionaire tech wizard, invites her and their old group on holiday to the hotel he owns in the Alps, she decides to go although her ex will be there. What follows is a welcome break, a journey of rediscovering her passions and revelations from the group... and all before Christmas!
My only fault with this book was how Zoe kept making excuses for enjoying her food, almost with every meal having to make an excuse to eat (blaming being hungry on the skiing or saying she was on holiday so it didn't count). This bothered me as it could be triggering for a recovering ED sufferer and it wasn't needed , it bugged me that the group couldn't just eat without needing to have a reason to enjoy a dessert!.
That aside the story was interesting and the ending satisfying, a lovely holiday read.

If you're looking for a light, romantic, holiday drama, Dreaming of Christmas is a great place to start. I'll admit that I read this a little early in the season and didn't feel as invested as I probably would have been in December. The setting of this book is perfect for a winter/holiday read and the author did an amazing job helping me picture the ski chalet and all of the wonderful Christmas decorations. It was a dreamy setting and made me wish that I could spend a week with friends in the Alps!

Zoe gets dumped by her boyfriend, Grant, on Christmas Eve. She spends the next year trying to get over him and just when she's starting to make progress, she gets an invitation to spend time in the Alps with a group of university friends, all expenses paid for. It sounds amazing except for the fact that Grant will be there. Zoe decides to go and even though there is drama along the way, she tries to enjoy the rekindled friendships, new relationships, fun skiing experiences and Christmas traditions.

I truly enjoyed many aspects of this book; however, there were a few things that I should note. I struggled with the narrator. She had a great voice for the female characters, but when she was reading for a male character, it sounded creepy. Because of this, I didn't like Billy, who was probably actually a likable character. I also kept comparing it to One By One by Ruth Ware which is a thriller that takes place at a ski chalet. I kept thinking that something thrilling should be happening and when it didn't, I found myself disappointed.

That being said, this is a fun holiday read and I think I would've been able to give this a great review if I would've read the physical book closer to Christmas! I definitely recommend it!

Thanks NetGalley for my advanced audiobook!

This year I've decided to get back to my Twelve Books of Christmas Challenge and this book was a perfect novel to start my Christmas reading venture

Dreaming of Christmas is your typical Christmas story. Girl reunites with a boy. Girl falls in love with a boy on top of gorgeous Alp mountains and they live happily ever after. Although, what actually caught my attention are the secondary characters. I loved their stories. Meeting after 10 year period, old roommates who turned friends, excited to show how their lives have changed/improved since their college years. However, the short holiday has turned their lives over again.

Dreaming of Christmas is a feel-good holiday read that will fill your heart with joy, hope, love, and holiday spirit. Thank you, NetGalley, Canelo Escape Publisher, and T.A.Williams for a free copy of the novel.

When Zoe gets dumped on Christmas Eve by her boyfriend for 10 years her world is turned upside down. The following year is hard for her to fumble through her feelings and work. An unexpected invitation for a Christmas vacation in Austria courtesy of her old University mate Computer Billy. He is now William Fischer, billionaire computer company owner and owner of the hotel he’s invited them to. Reuniting with all of her old flat mates is both fun and eye opening for all involved. But the guests include the ex, Grant. Will she make it through this time with all of them in the snow and Christmas festivities?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I enjoyed this audiobook a lot. The narrator was awesome and the story flowed well. The only knock for me was some pacing issues and very confusing relationship dynamics but truly I loved it and it wasn’t as Hallmark-y as I thought 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I'm reviewing the audiobook version and I didn't love the narrator. She was fine for most of it, but her Billy voice just grated on me so much that I found it distracting and I had a hard time connecting to the character as a result. In fact, I think I disliked him because of the voice I was hearing. The story is good, but there were just little things that bothered me and I found somewhat unbelievable. I had a hard time believing these characters were in their 30s, as their emotional / social maturity made them seem more like very early 20s. Each of the members of the group seemed to fit into a very 2-dimensional, stereotyped role - The Nerd, The Beauty, The Flirt, etc. Beyond those roles, they didn't have a lot of depth. The descriptions of the Winter Wonderland of the Austrian Alps and resort were amazingly well done and I enjoyed imagining a vacation to such a beautiful location. I think if I read the book instead of listening, I might have enjoyed it more.

The setting was gorgeous and - living almost right around the corner I can say - rather authentic in its description. I loved the snowy landscape and the christmassy feel.

I especially enjoyed that it's about a group of friends, and those are as important to the story as the romance. Another giant plus was the way Zoe handles meeting her ex. I quite enjoy adults behaving like an adult, and not like a hormonal teen!

Did I mention the cute puppy yet? No? Now I did - and I desperately want to visit that shoe chewing monster.

Going for 4 stars because some of the decisions didn't make any sense beside driving the plot (when other explanations would have made much more sense). Some characters just felt a bit bland and seemed.like "plot furniture" more than actual people.

All in all a quick and fun read that kept me well entertained. Though it wasn't perfect it nicely jump started the christmas spirit!

Dreaming of Christmas
by: T. A. Williams
Narrated by: Ann Marie Piazza
Saga Egmont Audio

In a setting of England and the Alps, this story is one of lost love and reconnections with friends. Narrator Ann Marie Piazza is superb in bringing all of the feelings and emotions that Williams conveys. The book has all of the elements for a warm, inviting winter story, with its snowy setting, ensemble cast of characters, and sparkles of a new romance. The writing is poignant and entertaining.

This book was very repetitive and the narrator made every character sound depressed. Thank you for the audio ARC

A wonderful Christmas story wrapped in a poignant look at the choices we make and the lies we tell ourselves as well as others that bring us to a crossroads in life. Sometimes the choices are of our own doing and sometimes they are the choices of others imposed upon our lives that make us sit up and take a hard look at where are. A reunion of college friends in their 30's helps many of the characters make better choices, while others continue on the path they have already laid down. A refreshingly real cast of characters with a touch of Cinderella gets her prince mixed in. If you like a touching Christmas story, then this one is for you!

Zoe finds out on Christmas Eve that grant has cheated on her and decides he doesn’t want to be with her. She then gets and invitation to Austria to stay at a 5 star hotel with expenses paid for by their old flat mate Billy. Juliet convinces her to go despite grant being there. They spend the net Christmas together enjoying company and one realizes that she doesn’t love grant anymore.
Honestly I didn’t like the wishy washy of Zoe. I do like that she wasn’t a pushover and that she realized Grant was a loser. I loved seeing her relationships with everyone. The Secondary characters are dry well developed. I do think the story could have been shorter. It is a lovely feel good Christmas story. It made me want to learn to ski.

First off, thank you so much to Netgalley for an advanced audiobook of this lovely book! I am a huge fan of audiobooks but you can't beat a Christmas audiobook!

For me, I look at every Christmas book as if it were a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form. This book went above and beyond that for me! I loved this book so much. I loved the complexities of the relationships and the dynamics amongst the friends. Zoe was the most fantastic lead in this book and you couldn't help but fall in love with Billy as the story progressed as well!

If you are looking for a book to add to your Christmas wish list this year or maybe even gift to that Hallmark channel lover in your life this is it! This book was lovely and fun and had so much to it that was unexpected! Do yourself a favor and add it to your own list!
