#Tempest of Bravoure: The Complete Series by # ValenaD’Angelis is quite entertaining. A fantasy series. When you end one novel it’s nice to have the next.
Thank you for the advance copy

This was a nice little fantasy series to read. I do feel it could of been ekked out a little bit more and the plot filled with more excitement. Ahna is a good character but I felt she could have more depth to her I liked however that she was loyal to her friends. I feel if more time was put into this series it could become great just by adding more detail.

This series was decent fantasy but it was not some of my favorite. It did not grasp my attention and it wasn’t one that I had to make myself stop reading.

A stunning read. Ahna is many things but before everything else she is a loyal friend but she doesn’t know if she can leave her home. Kairen needs her friend to come with her to fight with the resistance but will she be able to persuade Ahna to leave this place?
Cedric doesn’t trust the dark elf and he knows that he will need to watch Ahna closely. Their lives are about to became so interesting and Ahna will never give up on Cedric no matter how long it takes to save him from what is coming.
Her role in the resistance will span over my hundreds of year she will lose friends, find a lost husband, save her brother and she will do whatever it takes to save her soul.
A good read so much happened in the series I just couldn’t put it down.
Loved the characters and how they all have a part to play. I was really worried about Ahna & Cedric. It ended the way that I hoped.
I was lucky enough to receive a copy from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I have to admit that I did not finish the book. I could not go beyond the first chapters. Maybe I was not the right target group. Maybe this is a book for much younger readers. Maybe it is getting better afterwards. The main idea is not bad. It is about the uprising against an evil despot. However the whole idea reminded me a little about Star wars ( its fantasy version). The writing was good but it could be improved. The motivation of the characters were not strong enough.

I was intrigued by the premise of the Tempest of Bravoure. While evil overlord with a prophesied hero to defeat them is obviously a very well established trope, the introduction made it seem like this series was going to have a very different and interesting spin on this type of trope. Unfortunately I found pretty much every aspect of the writing to be very inconsistent.

The prose is fairly solid, but word choice makes the tone feel very inconsistent. The characters and dialogue also felt a bit wooden, and at times, even random. A scene may be very serious, then suddenly a character will giggle. This made much of the dialogue seem out of place or just simply odd. Scene and chapter transitions also felt quite clumsy at times, including several earlier chapters where miscellaneous exposition is given and then the chapter just ends.

The characters themselves while interesting to a point, but the inconsistency continues even here. One character has very vehement views on a topic, but then suddenly (due to a random discovery by another character to move the plot along) they completely change their view to the highest degree possible. The story seems to either meander, or very suddenly move forward. Characters make sudden discoveries and immediately either know what to do or get all around agreement to move forward. Plot devices seem to just be inserted whenever the story needs to move along.

I was interested in this series from the description and introduction, but despite me wanting to enjoy it, I kept finding too many issues for me to be able to continue. This is definitely not an author I'm writing off, and I'd be open to trying more of the author's work in the future, but I was unable to get through even the first book in this particular trilogy.

There is a lot of info dumping in the beginning which makes it hard for me to get into the story. But by the end of chapter 3 the pacing is better and the information about the world is woven in better with the story. Also you keep saying Kairen and David are husband and wife but they don't interact with each other. It would be better if you showed them together to get a sense of their chemistry then just saying her husband or mentioning that it's a bed she shares with her husband.

Okay, so I love fantasy and am a fast reader, the story outline was good, the pace was okay the characters had so much potential. The story and world build were great. Ahna was a really good character, my favorite, and was always waiting to get back to her, wanting to know more.

Story line, darkness is coming, Ahan and the rebels come together to free themselves and others from oppression. Very similar to most other fantasies. There was themes that align with our current world and society so that was enlightening.

I will say this, read each book individually and give yourself a break between them, you need time to have the story settle,

I finished a while ago and I would say Ahna was great.

Strong world building that fantasy lovers will appreciate.

Complex, multi layered and flawed characters reminiscent of Camelot. Mages, elves, royal Court intrigue, politics and love build a series of unexpected events into a new society.

Thanks, NetGalley and Publisher for the opportunity to read and review!
The trilogy is a real gem. I truly enjoyed reading! As to my pleasure, the main character is a female dark elf named Ahna and her journey - so very human. We follow her adventure as it starts on the edge of despair and sorrow in a world shattered by war and suffering caused by a member of her own race. Ahna's story includes little, but true friendship, epic battles, the awesome fantasy creatures that we all love in every shape possible as well as the inner struggle to find a reason to live a life that has taken everything from you and a path to walk in a world that hates you. Definitely recommend this series to every fantasy fan!
