This is a beautifully illustrated book. I loved the short stories about each of the gods. This is a great introduction to the subject.

My children enjoyed this book. It was nice to find a book about Greek mythology that had plenty of information but was not overwhelming at the same time. We were able to read sections together and have fun discussing the stories and relating them to our own life lessons and experiences. Would definitely recommend for library purchase.

A fantastic concept, but very poorly executed!

I have always been fascinated by mythology, and from a young age started learning about the Greek gods, goddesses and myths. However, much of Greek mythology contains some pretty mature themes, and whilst my parents always made sure that the documentaries I watched or books I read were appropriate, this isn't always easy to achieve. So do you simply have to ban young people from learning about these amazing stories - I was hoping that this was where this book would come in.

However, whilst the concept behind this book is incredible, the execution is very poor. For a relatively short book, there are no end of errors and idiosyncrasies. These extend to very basic things such as spelling and grammar mistakes which should have been picked up even owing to the copy received on NetGalley potentially being an advanced copy - this isn't the unfortunate but difficult to avoid every few pages small error type problem inherent in the publishing industry, but numerous mistakes per page.

Additionally the intended reader of this book is unclear. Whilst the title implies that it is for children, the registers differ wildly. The stories are well sanitised, the most distressing thing being someone who "did not survive", and are perfect for younger children. However, this contrasts sharply with the language used. Whilst generally short sentences and simple words are used, these are liberally intermingled with words such as progenitor, tyrannically and capricious, and whilst immortal is explained, these much more complex words are not.

I was also really disappointed by the version available on the kindle. The formatting was completely wrong, something that was hopefully altered before it was officially published.

Overall, this book, although I love the concept, is not one that I could recommend, mainly due to the large number of fairly obvious errors and the inconsistent writing style. It is a shame as the number and variety if myths chosen was fantastic and the biographies on the Greek gods nicely and descriptive,.

Great little book for children. I read it to my children and they loved it. Even I learned from the book.

A great wee guide to Greek Gods. The stories are condensed to short, easy to digest, stories with quirky illustrations. I would definitely use with learners (and also for my own reference when teaching this topic!).

Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for giving me this eARC to review.

I think this is a good starter book for Greek Mythology and should be in libraries so children can have access to it because the way this is done is so that none of the gory/more adult details are given so this is a great starting point.

I absolutely loved this book. It was well organized with a great flow of God's and Goddesses. Not only was it written with easy language, but also very informative. It was simple enough to keep a child's attention from wondering and keeping them engaged. I would also recommend this book for any adult who needs a crash course on Greek Mythology. This book is an amazing gateway into more detailed stories and piquing ones interest in other pantheons. Highly recommended.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great book for older kids who are interested in learning about Greek Mythology. There’s a lot to take in, but the information is intriguing and the illustrations were nice throughout the book.

Adorable artwork. Unfortunately, the text is unoriginal. It reads like a wikipedia article. The formatting for the digital version was also very strange; for example, the Grecian pillars which act as a border between sections would often appear all alone in the middle of the page.

This is a great book to introduce kids to Greek Mythology. It was fun and lively and the illustrations were fun. I liked how it had stories, not just facts about the gods/goddesses.

A real introduction to Greek Mythology, whose stories we still use in some sayings. From the very beginning, to their gods and goddesses, and their famous tales on human being in that time, makes this book a nice thing to read. What interes me is in the end of the book, the author wrote that Romans took Greek gods and rename them, including some of Greek Mythology famous personalities.

I think this is a great book for people who have kids interested in Greek mythology or want their kids to branch out in their interests. Even as an adult I feel like this is a good way to learn about it. I find that children's books don't only have to be for children, and it's a nice and fast way for anyone to learn about the Greek gods.

This was a good book. It explained the concepts of Greek Gods really well, but I thought that this book is going to be illustrated, but it was not. It was just the same design and plain text, though it would have helped if it was.

Might be aimed at kids but as someone new to Greek mythology I loved this, would recommend for kids and a great Xmas present too!

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Greek Gods for Kids is a beautifully illustrated guide for children to introduce them to the Greek gods and goddesses of ancient Greece.
The book starts out by explaining what Greek mythology is and introducing it and then goes on to showcase each god and goddess. I loved the short stories about each one too. The book is structured so that you can pick it up and read either cover to cover or at random whenever you want to.
This is a great book to start of learning about Greek mythology, God's and goddesses and encourages further learning by giving a short summary and story of each god and goddess.

Greek Gods for Kids is a wonderful “starter” book for parents to read with their children. I read this book with my 1st grader nightly working through the book by God and then coordinating story. I found that my child was not only interested in the stories but also wanted to dig deeper and learn more which is what every mother wants to hear. I highly suggest this for not only home school moms but also children in public school. Greek mythology is a great foundation for explaining the difference between fiction and realistic fiction as well as how long myths and legends have been around. Elementary age students will love the short stories as well as increase their vocabulary skill set.
Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read an E-ARC of this novel. The following is my honest and unbiased book review.

When I have been teaching the Ancient Greeks to my secondary students I often find they find it hard to grasp certain concepts within the intricate Ancient Greek myths and so a book such as this would help separate the stories that need to be separate or align possible similarities and story lines which overlap.

For example, when I was teaching the story of Hades and Persephone often the students would ask about whether Persephone had to return because Hades looked back when leading her out of the underworld, not understanding the biblical allusion of the pomegranate and confusing Hades' myth with Orpheus. But this book helps separate the two myths that happen to occur in the same setting which would be helpful for students of all ages when learning about the tragic hero and character origins.

A great introduction to Greek mythology for not just my children but me as well, I loved reading some of the classic tales with them and looking at where they had taken place in real life. A wonderful way to begin a love of Greek myths and legends, learning about gods and goddesses on the way

This is a good introductory book on Greek mythology for children. The book explains the major gods and goddesses of Greek mythology. Following each god and goddess discussed, there is a short adventurous tale told about them. The stories are written in a way that children and adults will understand and enjoy. The book flows from one story to the next. The book had simple elegant illustrations to depict the gods and goddesses. Overall this is a great place to start to learn about Greek mythology. I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

The writing is very lucid. The illustrations are nice. A bit old and classy look is presented through the book. The stories and introduction are as usual very interesting and descriptive, apt for young minds. More illustrations with respect to the stories would have made it more eye-glueing. All over it's a nice little book for children and adults alike to gain knowledge on Greek mythology.
