This is a kids-friendly, easy to read, and entertaining book on Greek mythology. It’s clear, concise and presents a Greek god, a hero and a myth related to such god, with the symbols and animals that represented each god or goddess. Wish it had been that easy when I was at school!

This is a book that I'd save as a resource for my social studies /history class. This book is an introductory guide for teaching Greek Mythology for Children of late elementary through middle school.
I love how the level of language is simple and comprehensive for the readers. This is a must read book if the audience are interested in learning Mythology

This book is a great introduction to Greek mythology for kids. It has a very straightforward style in the telling of stories and about the gods. While the art of the book was consistent throughout, and it's a good style, I would have preferred if the pictures with shades faces/bodies just showed the details of the faces/bodies.

This is a good introduction to Greek gods and goddesses, for children but also for anyone. The information is well-written and entertaining. The illustrations are mostly ok, but the ebook form does not enhance them. The print version should look a lot better. Enjoyable book!

A great starter to Greek Mythology fo a person of any age. It is more concise than I had expected but then it is designed for children ....I'd say under 10. I'm sure that the book will be much better as a physical copy so I don't recommend as a Kindle version but buy the 'real thing' to fully appreciate the art work and layout. It makes me want to find out more about the Greek stories, which I'm sure is one of the intensions of the book anyway.

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. I thought it would be fully illustrated but there's only a few images here and there. Even the information seems inadequate for a kid's book.

I have nieces and nephews that are learning about Greek Gods in school and I thought this was a great companion guide to help them learn. More about the history of Ancient Greece a well as the Gods associated with it.

The book opened up with a brief overview of Greek Mythology and then proceeded to go into the profiles of important/key gods and important figures in Greek mythology.
I thought the book was great. The information was clear and easy to understand for young readers. I thought that it would benefit from some more illustrations but other than that it’s great.

I love this book, it has the stories laid out nicely and they aren't super long where a child would get uninterested if you are reading to them. I really liked the illustrations for each God at the beginning of their story

3.5! Definitely a good starter book for children! I liked the format of the book: there was an illustration of the god or goddess and information about them, and then afterward gave a quick story or two of how the god(dess) was important in the mythology. In addition to the Olympus gods, there is also a spot for Hades as well as information at the end about how Roman mythology took heavily from the Greek. A few minor qualms I have with this is that I didn't love all of the artwork (some were nice but some were just okay) and there is no glossary at the end. There are some decently big words in here for a book aimed at children that are unrelated to the Greek names, and I think a glossary of all the Greek names as well as some of the other words would be beneficial for kids.

Thanks to netgalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review!

A cracking way to engage with, and teach youngsters about Greek mythology . Even I learnt stuff too!

My son and I read the book and we both loved it. Instead of facts about Greek gods and goddesses, it was short stories. My son found it easy to read and he learned something new. We also like illustrations but I think more and more kid friendly illustrations will be better.

Thank you netgalley and Ms, Roy for the ARC copy.

i haven't read the book, only skimmed through the pages and i'm not fan of the art style. it might be okay for kids. i probably expected it to appeal to both kids and adults alike. my bad.

[ including the star rating feels disingenuous but netgalley won't let me submit otherwise so.]

As far as starter books go, this one is a pretty good introduction to Greek Mythology! I like that it includes a lot of the stories and not just talking about the gods and goddesses. Despite the small errors here and there, it is very well done and most of the pictures included are really pretty! I wouldn't mind having a small collection of some of the images. There is definitely room to add more to it, and I don't quite understand the layout, but it's a fun read!

I liked the structure of this book. It opened with an overview of Greek mythology and what it meant to the Ancient Greeks before going into profiles of each of the major Olympian gods. Along with each god's description, there is a retelling of a relevant myth in which the god is involved (Cupid and Psyche, Demeter and Persephone, the Apple of Discord, etc.). The language is very simple, almost conversational, which sometimes feels accessible and sometimes feels a bit unpolished.

The book could have benefited from more illustrations. Middle-grade kids can probably manage, but there are several 4+ page stretches that are all text. The illustrations that are included are very striking and beautiful. They would not be at all out of place in a 90's Disney movie. That said, some of the females were sexualized a little more than I'd like (exaggerated Barbie-type figures, provocative posing, etc.) for an audience of kids.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

Definitely some complex vocabulary words in there so it’s meant more for like pre-teens unless you are reading it to your child. Decent stories. Wish there were more pictures
