I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

I don't think that Nora Roberts has ever missed with a single one of her stories. She is consistently brilliant and her characters are strong female and male leads without ever seeming to tip into stereotypes or clichés.
As this is the second in the trilogy you do have to have read the Awakening beforehand, but it is well worth it.
Roberts fascination and delight in Irish Mythology is evident here and she really makes her two worlds come to life.

I am a big fan of all versions of the author's works, with only a few falling through. I was pleasantly surprised when I read the first book of this series since it had been a long time since a book with magic (or, in this case, magick) by the author was out (that I know of).
I would not recommend coming anywhere near this story without having read the first. It is a sequel in its truest form, building upon the foundation set up in the first instalment without repeating many of the facts. This is refreshing for someone reading it in order, but not for anyone else.
Our leading lady went back to her old normal to try and figure out what she wanted to commit to. When her decision was rushed, she unexpectedly brought back her best friend.
This adventure is about showing the world through Marco's eyes. There were a few things that seemed to happen only to add some diversity to the narrative, and although things were happening, it felt like it was being told to us instead of being shown. I do not know how else to describe the feeling I came away with.
There is a lot of community interaction and the introduction of a brand new villain. The plot points were interesting, but the depth felt achievable in even fewer pages.
I only provide these remarks as someone who really liked the first and hoped it would be sooner than one year before I got to the next. The story is set for one final battle in the final book; the interpersonal relationships and the future of those delicate (and some not so delicate ones) bonds lie in the balance.
I would recommend this to people looking to continue with the series, but I have to rate it only after comparing it to the first.
This is an author who consistently delivers, and even if you come away with only a slight satisfaction, the reading experience is easy and vivid.
I received an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience.

This is book 2 in the Dragon Heart Legacy Trilogy. As I had read the first book I wanted to continue the story to find out what happens. It took a while for me to get into the book and at times it felt a bit repetitive. However as the story developed it stepped up the pace and became more exciting. I'll be on the look out for the third and final book now!

I didn’t know this was a sequel so a lot of things didn’t make sense to me, took me awhile to get into. Otherwise it was an enjoyable read, likeable characters and a good plot line.

Book 2 in this new trilogy is everything I love about a Nora Roberts book - great plot and fabulous storyline! This is definitely one of those special books that I will keep on my shelves to go back to and reread.

This is the second book in the Dragon Heart Legacy series - I really think to fully understand the world building and characters reading the first book is essential

This is an excellent continuation of the story , the first book mainly sets the scene for what is to come .
Breen has made her decision and returns to Ireland and Talamh ............. the land of her father and family ........if she is to help defeat her Grandfather's ambitions she needs to improve her magical talents , her fighting skills and how to ride and bond with her dragon .
The book contains all the elements necessary to tell a tale that enthralls the reader - a hero in Keegan with romance simmering in the background and a reluctant heroine in Breen ; battles where family and friends fight to survive and betrayal from an unexpected source ........... who will survive what is to come ?

The Author has written another fast paced , magical book - I cannot wait for the final book in the trilogy
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I don't think Nora Roberts can write a boring book and this one is no exception. She's a master storyteller and her romantic fantasy series are excellent.
This is the second in the Dragon Heart series and I found it gripping and highly entertaining.
It was great to catch up with the characters, there's a lot going on, and the world building is excellent.
I cant' wait to read the next book in this series.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

A fantastic addition to the Dragon Heart Legacy series. Nora Roberts has created an amazing fantasy world filled with magic and adventure and all manners of mystical beings. She has a way of describing scenes so eloquently that as I’m reading I can close my eyes and instantly be transported to Talamh watching the dragons soar overhead as groups of fey children frolic in the woods.

In the Becoming, Breen is learning more about her birthright and is coming into her powers, growing stronger by the day as she begins to believe in herself and her ability to face the upcoming battle. The slowburn relationship between her and Keegan is heating up and together they will make a formidable pairing. I love all of her characters. Their various relationships and interactions give a depth to the story but my favourite would have to be Marco. His devotion and love for Breen is a joy to read and he would literally walk through fire for her although in this case it was more a case of falling through a portal! Everyone should have a Marco in their lives. The protagonists have a touch of the pantomime baddie about them in so much that I feel the need to boo and hiss when they appear on the page but that doesn’t make them any less evil or dangerous.

Yes, in parts this book may seem a bit slow to some readers but for me everything in the Becoming is necessary to set the stage for what I’m sure will be the epic finale of The Offering.

The second book in a trilogy suffers a bit with the pace of the overall story. Returning to the world of magic Breen learns to improve her skills and power being trained by Keegan leader of the Fey. Breen carries the blood of the Wise, the Sidhe, the Gods and Humans. Her Grandfather the Dark God wants this power. This is a journey where Breen meets forgotten friends and one who would become a terrible foe. I feel you need to read the first story or you might get lost with so many characters. Overall this is a book setting up the story for its final act.
I was given an arc of this book by Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I loved the first book in this trilogy, this was just as engaging, Nora Roberts draws you into her storylines and you're quickly hooked! I read this in two sittings, only because I had work the day I started it , I was so enthralled , I ended up late ! I had no idea time had passed so quickly!
The characters are wonderful and you become immersed in the storylines . it's both humorous and entertaining, Everytime I hear the dog's name it makes me smile, you'll have to read the book to see why !
The fantasy and suspense interweave with the romance in this immersive read. I was sad to reach the end of the book, I can't wait to read the next instalment!

would like to thank netgalley and the publishers for letting me read this amazing book

book 2 in the series and we carry on where the first book left off....and boy are you in for a ride....so much happens in this book that i wont even start to try and get my head around it

suffice to say that if you love magic and dragons and fairies and goblins they are all in this book...but its so much more than that

its the beginning of discovery.... of becoming...

there are some entertaining moments and edge of the seat stuff but there is also a time of sadness but i admit to having a tear in my eye for the dragons...that was a lovely scene

but now to await the next book in this series, hope its not to long

The becoming by Nora Roberts.
The Dragon Heart Legacy Book 2.
When Breen Kelly makes a leap into the unknown with a summer trip to Ireland in search of her father, little does she know she will find a portal into another world - Talamh - where she will find magic, family and a destiny beyond her wildest dreams.
A truly magical read. Absolutely brilliant. Loved breen character. Loved the story. Looking forward to the next book. 5*.

The magical, captivating journey of Breen and her friends continues with darkness and light, death and life, hate and love and above all else courage and friendship. Her grandfather, the God will stop at nothing to get to her and ramps up his efforts. Keegan trains her and fights his attraction to her. Her bestfriend Marco, Bollocks her champion and all her newfound family and friends are with her every step of the way as she navigates her powers and the land of her birth. Its exciting, action pact and an amazing second book and I have no idea how im going to wait a year for the conclusion!

As the second part in Nora Roberts' most recent trilogy, The Becoming obviously continues where The Awakening left off.

As expected from any Nora Roberts book, the characters are charismatic and the dialogue written for them is second to none.

Readers are easily swept along with this continuing story but in true 'trilogy' style, there continues to be questions that remain unanswered.

Personally, I feel that this particular trilogy could have been a duet. Having now read the first two novels, there seems to be little progress in the main story although there are sub plots peppered throughout.

For Nora Roberts fans, this will be welcomed and enjoyed... Maybe not so much for new readers!

All in all a welcome addition to this author's catalogue!

Thank you to Netgalley, publisher and author for a copy of this.

I do enjoy a good Nora Roberts fantasy series and this doesn't disappoint. My only problem is that they don't get released fast enough.

5/5

Another fantastic novel from Nora Roberts. Haven't read the first book in the series but this totally works as a stand alone novel. Full of wonderful characters, magic and fantasy, what more could you ask for.

I haven't read the first one but it is still classed as a stand alone, but things have been left unfinished so I assume there will be a third, not really my "cup of tea" but a nice read and I am sure there are people out there who will love it
