I think I am having writer's block on this review. I have thoughts that I want to make sure to mention, but they're not in any particular order. One thing's for sure though, this book didn't disappoint. It's exactly as advertised.

As this is book 4 in the series, there's already an established timeline of events. I am not a fan of when a book repeats the same timeline, but it's told from a different point of view. I feel like it can be a bit repetitve, and as a reader, I want something new. I didn't realize that the beginning of this book is the same timeline as the beginning of Bloody Union. I was a few chapters in when I started to put it together. Once it all clicked, I was impressed with the creativity. This is Denis's story from the beginning, and that doesn't change. However, in order to advance the timeline, Brooke uses the highlight events from the first three books. For example: Denis tells Callie that he has to head to the US because his sister is getting married to an Italian. Even though the wedding is off the page, it's instantly recognized as the bloody union.

From the get go, there's always been tension in Denis's marriage. Zoe makes the wicked witch of the west look pretty tame. Each book has at least one scene dedicated to her nastiness. She also doesn't discriminate on who feels her wrath. Denis does the best he can in keeping it together, but he's failing. Everyone is miserable. They say that the best things come at the worse time, and that's when he meets Callie. Their relationship is like night and day to his marriage. There's chaos and strife at home, but with Callie, there's only peace and harmony. Life is pretty good, but Callie doesn't know he's married. If you're not a fan of any form of cheating, this is not the book for you.

From a reader's standpoint, you want to like the characters and believe in their relationship. That's definitely the case between Denis and Callie. It makes you wonder what would have happened if they had found each other sooner. I probably would have given this one a 5 star rating, if there hadn't been a few character flaws that I couldn't overlook. In my opinion, Denis is a weak man. He talks the talk, but I think he could have walked a little sooner or even stronger. I feel like he takes a more passive approach when his character screams for aggression. On the opposite hand, Callie is almost near perfect. It doesn't matter what the situation is, she knows exactly what to say and how to navigate through the tide. It wouldn't be so bad, but most her accomplishments are followed by the description of her age. I understand that Brooke is trying to show how much of an age-gap they have, but there's no way that Callie is that perfect. She doesn't have the life experience. These issues could have been overlooked, but they were noticeable to me.

Still a fan though, and I am glad to see that there might be a few more of these stories.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SHATTERED UNION" WOW!!!! Sit back an enjoy this intriguing, riviting intense drama, angst, steamy scenes, twists that make this a very addicting page turner.
Dennis Gallagher is leader of the Clan in Ireland, Northern Ireland, his father leader of NYC, his grandfather is the one everyone answers to, his younger sister is head of East Coast of US, his son's run UK & Spain, his daughter married to grandson of Capo Dei capa for Italian Mafia who is the underboss of Connecticut's Irish-Italian Mafia, Denis's wife Zoe is pure evil he's had enough.
Callie & Denise's journey isn't an easy one but he's still married to Zoe but they haven't been together for 10yrs, will he & Callie get their HEA or will she walk away you have to get this book to see what happens.
I definitely recommend to get well written story different unique romance it won't disappoint so well worth the read Brooke Summers did a great job writing this book the characters were well developed interesting, entertaining it a must read for sure.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the first time I've read this author so I can say, I think it would have been enjoyed so much more if I'd read the rest of the series. This a second chance, age gap, mafia romance and book four in the Made series.
This story is about Callie O’Hara and Denis Gallagher. He is second in the Irish mafia or Clann in Northern Ireland. There is around a 40 year age gap between them. There isn't much storytelling regarding them falling in love and I would have loved that. He is married but to a hateful, conniving, unfaithful and deceitful woman. He hasn't been with anyone sexually in a decade. When he meets Callie, he realizes she is the "one". He takes forever to be honest with her so when she finds out he's married, she does not take it well. For her to be only in her early 20s, she has really built a successful life for herself throughout Ireland. The strength within her is also admirable. She is his equal in many ways.
I'm really dying for more of this world. There is a lot going on but it kept me fully engaged and on the edge of my seat. My mafia addiction was well fed. The characters and storyline were well developed and entertaining. I definitely recommend it but I highly suggest reading the previous books first. Also, please don't get hung up on the "married" part because it is in name only. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

This book had everything I love in a story. It was heartbreaking, emotional, dark, suspenseful, entertaining and enjoyable to read. The twists kept me glued to the pages of the book. The romance made me root for them. Another great story to add to the series. I requested a copy of this book and am voluntarily writing a review.

I received this ARC for an honest review:

On to the fourth book in the series and you have a gap book. Which is done well. There might be a few things wrong here and there but overall this is a good story. Denis Gallagher is with a younger woman Callie O'Hara, who believes everything is good between them only to find out that it is not. He has a wife who meets her and then threatens her not once but twice. Telling Deni that they are through it is now up to Denis to finally end things with his wife who has been sleeping with numerous men including their enemy. Once that is done he must work at winning Callie back which will not be easy for there is nothing easy about her she is strong and runs her own crew in the U.K. you find out just how strong she really is. A very good story to go along with the rest.

Fabulous read! Wonderfully complicated characters with brilliantly twisted minds but very big hearts. They may be dangerous but they love wholeheartedly and Dennis and Callie are the proof that love can bring a family together, no matter how dysfunctional it appears.

Denis Gallagher is the boss of the Irish Mafia, the Clann.
He meets Callie and the attraction is fast and strong.
Callie has had some difficult experiences regarding love and she doesn't trust in men easily.
But she falls head over heels for Denis.
What will she do when she finds out what he was hiding all the time?
I really liked this book. It's true that Mafia books are one of my favorite ones. And this one didn't disappoint me.
The characters, the plot full of twists.. It will suck you from the beginning.

I went into this book blind, not realising it was Denis’s story. After reading previous books, I could understand him needing a HEA. He may be the father of previous characters, but his wife, their mother, is pure evil. I thought Denis had the patience of a saint putting up with her.

When Denis meets Callie you can feel the chemistry between them. Callie is the total opposite to Zoe. She’s got a heart of gold and the perfect match for Denis.

Can Denis finally put a end to his misery? To maybe have chance of happiness?

This series just keeps getting better and better. I’m totally hooked and can’t wait for the next instalment.

Wow.

Another story from Brooke Summers in the Made series, that is a great read and doesn't disappoint.

A fast paced, sexily written romance, with family and mafia involvement. Not so keen on the included violence but still well written.

Would like less of the violence and more of the sex. But still an enjoyable story.

Can't get enough! Denis is the head of the Irish mafia. His wife is a horrible, mean woman and their time is over. He's been a great father loving all his children even the ones he finds out he didn't father. While still married Denis meets Callie. This is an age gap story. They chemistry is off the charts, but can they have a future. This story is an emotional rollercoaster with secrets, truths, surprises, drama galore that had me crying and cheering to the end.

I loved knowing of Denis from the previous books in this series. This gave me some insight into who he is. Callie is the exact woman Denis needs in his life. I want to be her when I grow up!
They are put through so many tests and their journey through it kept me at the edge of my seat.
It is a must read!

I enjoyed this story and am enjoying this series

I am an avid mafia story fan and this was a little different.
A man not the father of children his wife had from affairs, but raising them as his own, is seldom seen in this genre.
His own infidelity that leads to the love of his life was a nice turn of events.
Having a leading lady that would not be the other woman no matter the heart break it caused her and Denis respecting her wishes makes you root even harder for them.
The solution to the betrayal of his "wife" I thoroughly enjoyed. I really wanted her gone.

*Thank you to Victory Editing, Brooke Summers and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Shattered Union is the 4th book in the Made Series. I have read other Brooke Summers novels and have enjoyed them, but this one threw me off. I have not read the first three in this series, so maybe knowing the background of some characters would have made the book more enjoyable for me. Definitely, the first scene was confusing. When the author describes her grey hair, I thought she was much older and we don't learn her age until a couple of chapters in. In fact, we learn little about her or their relationship until 3 or 4 chapters in. I thought that Denis, as a mafia boss, seemed unrealistic, as he didn't seem to do many mafia things. I also found the scenario with Zoe a bit unrealistic as well. He did not seem the type to be celibate for over 10 years. She also accuses him of not knowing that most of his kids are not his, yet they haven't been intimate for a decade.

This is a significant age-gap romance; he is 49, and she is 25. This book kept me interested from beginning to end, though some parts were out there in space. Shattered Union had violence, limited steam, family drama and cute kids.

This was a highly anticipated book for me in The Made Series. Denis and Zoe’s story has been part of all of the books so far, but this was their full story, and it did not disappoint.

Denis Gallagher is the Boss of the Irish mafia in Ireland and he’s a powerful man. He may not be the top ruler, but he’s next in line and has the power. His marriage is a sham but the only good part of it is the six kids he has. He loves them all and will do anything to protect all of them, even if it destroys his life.

Callie O’Hara is a businesswoman and is connected. She owns multiple bars in Ireland and is expanding to London. She’s beautiful, single, independent, smart, and has fought her way out of a bad relationship. She’s careful now about putting her heart out there, but when she see’s Denis for the first time, something makes her brain go haywire and she has no way of stopping what happens next, but the only problem is that Denis can break her like no one else would ever be able to.

I love The Made Series, it’s full of powerful, sexy, possessive and protective men. The best part about this series though is that the women are just as powerful, protective, sexy, and possessive. They can fight alongside their men and the don’t shy away what needs to be done to protect those they love. When Callie is faced with the truth of who Denis is, her heart is broken and she’s sure that nothing will ever be the same again. I loved Denis and Callie’s story. Denis deserves to have someone in his life that he can trust and have by his side, that will love not only him, but his kids too. Callie has a big heart and soft demeanor that has most people thinking that she’s weak, but when someone goes after her or her family the claws come out. This makes Callie a perfect fit for Denis. I am happy to finally read Denis’ story and for him to find the woman that was made for him. I love the characters in this series, and I am looking forward to Flynn’s story. I give this story a 5-star review and if possible, I would give it five more.

I loved this book Shattered Union which is the Made series about Denis and Callie. Who we're meant to be but due to Denis's wife and her blackmail of their son Danny. His wife did everything to destroy Denis and Callie's relationship by confronting her and then trying to kill her. It was a love that would surpass the test of time and through every danger. Poor long-suffering Denis, who knows his wife Zoe has been stepping out on him and is devastatingly cruel to their children. All is revealed in his story. I was cheering for Denis and Callie, and that almost 20 year age gap didn’t mean a thing. Callie is clever in business, instills loyalty in dangerous friends, and sticks up for those who need a voice. She is fearless, until she meets Denis, and feels fear on so many levels. Callie’s strength and Mafia savvy are indisputable.

Shattered Union us book four in the Made series by Brooke Summers. Having read the first three books I was really hoping that Denis would get a book. Denis and Callie's story is a wild ride. Normally I don't read books with cheating but everything that Denis' wife has put him through, I had to condone it. I can't wait to see what's next for this series.

I really liked this book. The storyline was full of drama and the relationships from Denis/Callie to the children to the siblings pulled it all together.

This is a new to me author so I knew I might miss a few things jumping in on book 4. Holy hell there are a lot of character appearances/mentions. I wish the author’s website was active and had a family chart to keep it straight. Although at times it frustrated me it also got me excited to read the rest of the series. I am confused about Malcolm and how his book is scheduled after next one. So much is already developed and reads like the timelines are parallel. Denis would be gone a week for something that appears to have happened in another book and at times it broke up the flow.

I’m excited to go back to book 1 and looking forward to reading more about this world. Once I’ve read those I may need to come back and edit the above.

Set aside a full, long day for this ADULT Irish Mafia romance set mostly in Dublin between 40-year-old Clann Boss Denis Gallagher and 22-year-old pub owner Callie O'Hara. I had an ARC from NetGalley and this voluntary review is my own opinion.

Shattered Union is book 4 in Brooke Summers Made Series. Told in dual POV, we are FINALLY getting Denis and Callie’s story. Technically, this book can be read as an interconnected standalone, but you will lose so much back story and context that really makes this story an amazing read. I have been impatiently waiting for this couple and Brooke did not disappoint. I was surprised by the lack of “Mafia Stuff” for lack of a better phrase. The other books in the series, while centered around their specific couples, still focused on The Clann or The Famiglia and all of the politics that come with being a part of the mafia. Yes, Denis is head of the Irish Mafia, but we learn that Callie is quite connected to The Life even if it is more of a six degrees of separation type of situation. The characters are dealing with the fallout that happened in the previous books, but this is definitely more of a contemporary romance with Mafia Trope undertones. The vibe of Shattered Union wouldn’t have worked as Book One in this series, but being the fourth book - it really works. Callie and Denis have very complicated lives, but I absolutely LOVE them together. All of the Zoe stuff is heartbreaking and that woman is infuriating. Brooke did a wonderful job bringing the couple full circle. Callie and Denis’ passion and chemistry was off the charts, and the love they have for each other was fun to read. I really enjoyed the kids and the storyline that went with it. I really loved this book and the series just continuously gets better. I definitely recommend this book even if the mafia trope is not your usual cup of tea.
ARC graciously given by the author via Netgalley by The Next Step PR. All thoughts and opinions are my own

This is the 4th book in this phenomenal series and is Denis and Callie’s journey. Denis is protective, domineering, and a devoted dad who is the head of the Irish mafia, and his children are his life, not to mention his toxic wife who is the catalyst of so much drama and heartache. Callie is smart and fierce, and Denis is determined to get her back into his life, and when she becomes a target, he will do whatever he must to protect and keep her safe. This is a well written flawless story which is an emotional roller coaster, which is action packed, and filled with heartbreak, intrigue, danger, suspense, drama, lies, twists, violence, truths, and love, which leads to an entertaining and riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
