I knew this book would be great just by seeing Robin Stevens name on it. My daughter has read and loved all her Murder most unladylike books.
A very merry murder club is a great read packed full of mystery and adventure. The thirteen stories all written for the festive period. This book has something for everyone, each of the different authors and their individual stories make sure of that. I know my daughter will love it and will make a great stocking filler. It would also be idea book to read with my year 6s at school.
I just want to add that I love the illustrations too. The picture pages, the top secret file covers for each story even the little footprints and magnifying glasses help make the book look great.

Shoe Dunnit by Elle McNicoll is a brilliant little murder mystery with an instantly endearing neurodivergent main character. A sparkling wintry setting & a tantalising trail of clues, all wonderfully woven together.

I received an excerpt from the book, so this review is based on that one story. The short story, Shoe-Dunnit by Elle McNicoll features Briar, a young neuro-divergent girl. When all of the guests at her parents' Scottish ski lodge are trapped in by snow, tempers start to fray. When one of the guests, a ballerina, is found dead in the snow outside the lodge, it is down to Briar and her trusty dog to solve the mystery.
This was a fun read and, if all of the stories are of a similar quality, this will be a great book to have on my classroom bookshelf.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the advance copy.

With only a taster of this to go by, it's very hard to judge this title overall, but fortunately for all involved that taster comes in the form of a short story by the fabulous Elle McNicholl, which I greatly enjoyed. The murder itself is not gory or particularly brutal, and will therefore be well received by all but the most sensitive of readers. This, in addition to Elle's trademark inclusivity in the characters within the story, will go a long way towards this being a hugely popular read .with its target audience, many of whom will be familiar with most - if not all - of the names of the authors whose stories are included. I really enjoyed it, and can't wait to read the rest of the book.
