Postcards from South America is the travel adventures of a middle aged couple taken after Alistair loses his job. It is about taking risks and doing things out of your comfort zone. If you plan a trip to South America or just love to read about travel adventures it is a good easy read book. The style will take a bit of getting used to and sometimes you wish it was more about the place itself than the small details and conversations that sometimes pad it out. But overall a good easy read and a great armchair escape in these times of restricted travel.

A good adventure overall of the travels of Alister and Fran. Took me a bit to get into the style of writing though, as it felt a little choppy at times. I liked it and would recommend it as I do like travel books.

I enjoyed reading this vivid travelogue. It’s a superb read if you plan to visit South America some day… gives you an idea of what you might want to see and do and what’s avoidable. If hair-raising adventures are not your thing, this book is an excellent way to indulge in some armchair travels.
