Another great book from Carolyn Brown. I was not disappointed. This story is about family and a long drawn out feud. Its how people can learn to love others for themselves and not what their family may have done in the past. Amelia Loves Nick and he loves her. Liddy (Amelia's aunt and Matilda Nicks mother) have a very troubled past. Their family does not want them to be dating each other and have threatened to disown them if they do. They must decide what is more important....the feud or the family. The love of a supportive family is everything!! They let you make your choices and support you even if it becomes a negative choice. They love you no matter what. That is what this story is about to me. I loved it. I wish i would have seen Matilda change her ways but some people are too self centered for their own good. I'm looking forward to more Carolyn Brown Books!!

Not for me, I did warm to Liddy and her brother Paul and his wife. But Liddy and her sister in law kept going on and on about this Matilda. Could she really be this horrible? Let me admit I don't want to know after reading the first 8%, it feels petty.

The Bluebonnet Battle is a joy to read. Author Carolyn Brown has an absolute lock on feisty older characters who have lived long enough to amass great wisdom that they don’t hesitate to share. This story is about couple meeting and falling in love in spite of the long standing feud between his narcissistic social climbing mother, Matilda, and her mostly sweet aunt, Liddy, who is more like a grandmother to her. Readers have to wonder who Ms. Brown might have known to inspire a character like Matilda who is so unlovable, but described so accurately with great humor. Aunt Liddy is generous to a fault giving to her community except for her unrelenting anger, with good reason, towards Matilda. The story is sweet, the dialogue most entertaining and the secret pie recipes begged to be made! I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.

The Bluebonnet Battle is a wonderfully written emotional story about a family feud and when sparks fly between a couple who is caught in the middle.
The characters were so likeable & engaging, the plotline was so unique I loved every minute of this, Carolyn brown knows how to grab the attention of the reader, I could not put this book down.
Gosh the writing is remarkable. There hasn't been a book I haven't read of hers that I didn't like.
With vivid descriptions and stunning surroundings I was absolutely captivated throughout.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Montlake through NetGalley.
