I liked this, but it wasn't my favourite poetry book I've ever read. I didn't relate to all poems so this is probably why. However I did love that it was a very hopeful, uplifting poetry book. There were so many aspects of loving yourself in this one that I just loved!!

Poetry is so personable, emotional, and vulnerable, which is why I love and appreciate so much. To know you relate to someone or multiple people on various levels is aspiring and makes life less lonely. Elodie’s writing is purely enjoyable and honest.

This is a collection of Elodie Parthenay poems.
It includes an easy to connect and sincere view on Love, Loss, Longing and Self-Love.
I really loved the collection in general because of how it is structured and the simple writing.
Some of the poems are really a piece of art but in the whole they get lost.
I think that if your looking for an easy conection with a beautiful collection of poems, this is for you.
I look forward to reading more of her poems!
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for this Book in return of an honest review.

🌅 #BookReview - The Sun Always Knows Where To Find Me 🌅

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you so much to @netgalley for giving me early access to this collection of poetry. ❣️

I bloody adored this one. It had themes of self love, self acceptance, difficult/traumatic relationships, finding yourself in love and life AND mental health. I screenshotted about 7 favourites - I can’t get enough. 🌅

I’ll definitely be getting myself a physical copy of this as I know it’s one I’ll go back to time and time again. Simply stunning x

If you’re going through heartache, mental health troubles or experiencing a rough patch in your life or relationships, please read this. And tell yourself that “the sun always knows where to find me”. 😘🌅❣️

A brilliant debut poetry collection from Elodie Parthenay!

Main themes range from: loving others and self-love, lust, loss, and longing.

Elodie's raw, beautiful, and simplistic writing style made her poems easy to connect with and understand. With some pieces resonating more than others.

I truly believe that many people will be able to relate to her poetry.

I look forward to reading more of her works!

I agree with another reviewer that poetry (and all literature) is rather subjective, and there wasn't a real wow factor with this work, overall. Individually, there were some poems that were beautiful, heartbreaking, and felt like a punch to the gut. However, as a cohesive work, it wasn't my favorite compilation.

Thank you, NetGalley for this ARC!

While I understand poetry is really subjective, I didn't think there was anything special about this collection. This would have been better suited to Instagram or tumblr!

This poetry collection has love, heartbreak and growth all in one and I truly believe that there is something that everyone can relate to in here.
Only wish it was downloadable to kindle

First of all thank you for Netgalley and the publisher for providing me an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

I want to say that poetry is very subjective, liking one and not the other is akin to taste in music, you can’t please everyone.

This was a miss for me. The writer created a beautiful collection of her work and the way the book was structured was super clear.
My issues lay with the poems not resonating with me and the fact that the blurb of the book indicated something different from what I’ve read.

I don’t want to say anything negative or rate this book negatively because, again, this is a very subjective opinion.

This was such a lovely collection of poetry. The poems focused on love, relationships, self-love and self-care. It is separated into sections and my favorite section was titled “forests”. I liked the structure of the poems. There were a few poems that I didn’t relate to or really liked, but overall the majority of the poems were great.

A big thank you to Net Galley for providing me with an arc in exchange of an honest review. "The Sun Always Knows Where to Find Me" is Elodie Parthenay's debut poetry collection, which mesmerised me with its' bittersweet approach to discuss topics such as love, loss, embracing yourself and relationships. Parthenay's writing style is very raw and simplistic, which made it easy for me to connect with the poems. I believe that everyone will be able to relate to this book, at least partially. The only thing that I disliked is that some of the poems feel a little rushed, but overall I like the stricture, I just think that some of the poems needed a little more work. The trigger warnings include grief, loss, heartbreak, etc. An awesome read for everyone who loves deep yet simplistic poetry!

although I couldn't connect with and love all of the poems in this collection, the ones that resonated with me.. really resonated with me

just a beautiful work of art.

I feel like this would be a little hidden gem for a lot of people, I will share some of my favorite parts below.

constantly finding the light in the shadows, not to hoard it but to light others' way.

my mind is a wonder, see how it turned the pain of having lost into gratefulness for having known.

the sun always knows where to find me.

I would include more but you'd just have to pick up this collection for yourself :)

I’m mixed on this one. There are some poems I absolutely loved and identified with. While there were others I struggled to follow. Maybe that just means there can be something for everyone in the collection. Either way it is a beautiful expression of emotions and experiences.

Thank you NetGalley for the free ebook.

It just didn't work for me. I enjoyed a few poems, but I didn't like most of them. This doesn't mean they are bad, but I don't have a feeling I'll remember them as I do some I've read before.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This book was absolutely beautiful. The poetry was touching and used lovely language. I also really appreciated how the poetry takes the reader on a progression - it’s as if we are sitting beside the author as they process through everything and go on an emotional journey. Absolutely beautiful book of poetry that felt very grounded.

The Sun Always Knows Where to Find Me is a collection of poems by Elodie Parthenay. These poems discuss relationships, loss, and love.

There were very few poems that I felt connected to. Some pieces were very vague and I couldn’t relate on an emotional level. That being said, it doesn’t mean that others will feel the same. Poetry is very personal and there will be certain works that don’t speak to you. Thank you to NetGalley and Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

1.5 stars

This read like 2014 Tumblr "deep" text posts. There were a few that I did actually enjoy but overall this collection read very teenage angsty and wasn't very enjoyable for me.
