Girl meets boy, boy leaves girl but they never forget each other until they finally are reunited years later. This really isn’t something I would typically choose to read, but since I truly DO like pina coladas, I couldn’t pass it up! The main characters, Charlotte and Jack, have their own flaws and issues to work through, but they realize they are worth the work. The story was really predictable and cheesy, but who doesn’t love a feel-good rom-com? Especially after I just finished a heavier read. Plus, where I come from, St. Patrick’s Day is a pretty big holiday so the book starting off with that was very relatable for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the copy in exchange for my review! I will be posting this review to my Instagram blog (books_by_the_bottle).

I received a copy from NetGalley and was so excited to read this book since the author and some of the book takes place in my home town. Charlene and Jack are the main characters in this Traveling Companion required novel. The majority of the book takes place in the Azores and the setting and description of the island is greatly depicted with the beautiful vibrant colors of the island. The love at first sight from 6 years before was a little far stretched and the book developed their feelings for each other a little too quickly to be believable.
I was hoping this was a 5 star book for me but unfortunately it was more of a 3.5 Stars.

She likes Pina Coladas is a romantic comedy. This is a fun story based off an old song about ` an ad placed in the paper about loving pina coladas, and taking walks in the rain. Charlotte spent one night with a man that she had a strong attraction with. They had a great night but she left before he got up so he did not get her contact information,. She searched for him for years and compared every man she met to him. one thing that she knew about him is that he wanted to travel to the Azores. After breaking up with her boyfriend she decided to place a wanted ad for someone to go to the Azores with. She doesn't meet up with the person that answered her ad until they meet at the airport. The man that answers her ad is Jack that she has dreamed about for years. Jack is a fighter pilot that has been out of town in the military. They have a very interesting vacation in the Azores. I highly recommend this book.

Everything about this book felt juvenile, the writing style, the character development, the relationships. What almost 30 year old woman needs her best friend to fly across the ocean because she can’t communicate with the person she allegedly loves and is going to marry. We couldn’t come up with a more descriptive word than Sassy? I wound up skipping to the very predictable end because I couldn’t stand reading the same 5 descriptors over and over

This was a fun, flirty, and fast read romance. I liked it a lot. Jack and Charlotte met once, 6 years prior. To Charlie, he was the one who got away, and to Jack, she was the sad thing. They meet again after Charlotte decides to travel to the Azores. Her best friends Pat and Steph insist that she go with someone, and Jack, who is friends with Pat, wants to go after he recognizes Charlotte from 6 years ago.

I liked the second chance romance trope, but Charlotte’s indecisive behavior got frustrating at times, as did her dependence on Steph’s advice. Still, she grew during the trip and I liked seeing that.
This is a cute read. 4 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Pina Colada Song... still like it. And I liked the premise of this book.

Six years ago Charlotte met THE guy she is still comparing everyone to. They had a great night (she was a bit drunk) but when she woke up he had left.
Jack also still remembers Charlotte but he had reasons why he left that morning. When he gets the chance to meet up with Charlotte again on a trip to the Azores he grabs that chance!

The story started out great. I loved the fact both Charlotte and Jack are still thinking about each other after six years. What are the odds - their best friends are married! and Charlotte has moved in with them after her ex boyfriend stole her apartment.
I liked the easy connection they had, the fact they were both so smitten. After six years... finding each other again.

So what happened? Why did Charlotte start to be so difficult when they had everything they wanted in their grasp?

Charlotte meets the man of her dreams, the only problem is she was drunk and he had disappeared when she woke up. Six years later through some conniving on Jack’s part they end up on holiday to the Azores together. I understood Jack being scared he would hurt Charlotte, but found it a bit annoying how often he yo-yoed between wanting to make things work and leaving her for her own good. I don’t think I would have been as understanding as Charlotte, but then again it wouldn’t be a good book without some drama. I liked the addition of Jack’s family and Charlottes best friend being brought on the holiday. I took me a while to understand the name of the book, but got it eventually. I believe this is the first book by the author so I will be interested to see where this series goes.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The title of the book is what drew me in. Who doesn't love the Pina Colada song? It's great right? Well except for the whole both partners were planning on cheating on each other, and then saw it was the other and laughed and laughed.... Yeah. No.

Anyway... I digress. Story was interesting - Girl meets boy - boy sneaks out in the middle of the night - both spend 6 years obsessing over their one perfect night.

Flash forward - they're both living right under each other's noses.

The rest of the book is what happens next.

It was cute. Annoying in some spots. But cute.nonethrless.

Worth a read.

'She Likes Pina Coladas': 4⭐

(Unpaid Review: thank you to @netgalley, @brittaneenicole and the publishers for allowing me to read this eArc copy in exchange for a review.)

Such an upbeat story! Written in Azores, Portugal (me being a portuguese girl, I really appreciated this), this was a steamy and very emotional romance story that brings such warmth to your heart and soul.
I think that, if I had to choose book characters to hang with or befriend, I'd choose the ones from this book!😍

A fun summer read with a sprinkling of steaminess - there was nothing more I wanted from this book to finish off the summer holidays. I think I might re-read this on a dreary winter night ...

Thank you NetGalley, Brittanee Nicole and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the copy of She Likes Pina Coladas. This is my personal review.
This is the first in the series Bristol Bay. This is the start to grabbing the next in the series as soon as it is out!
Jack and Charlotte and meant to be together. They must endure a few bumps in the road, but the journey is so worth it for them. This was a fantastic heartwarming , emotion filled, laugh out loud at times, second chance romance novel that left me filled with so many emotions as I read.

Looks like I'm in minority here but I didn't enjoy this book very much.
What first drew me to it was the blurb. It sounded exactly like something I would enjoy greatly. It started off good but then the more I read the less I liked it and about half way through I started skimming just to get to the end. Based on the blurb I was expecting more. On top of that I had a hard time connecting to Charlotte from the get-go. And the chemistry between Jack and Charlotte, I did not feel it, at all (the 'love at first sight' nonsense didn't help at all) - but, they were sweet together in the end. I really disliked how unrealistic this book was. Seemed so unbelievable that these two people connected so quickly, and with the way they first met. I just found it unnatural and forced. I enjoyed some parts of the book anyway. But other parts were a catastrophe for me and I didn’t enjoy them at all. It was disappointing because it was either really good or really bad. There was no inbetween. I also feel like the plot was not flowing. That's why the book dragged and I had to push myself to finish it. And on top of all that, the writing style didn't suit me.
Oh well, I loved the concept but I don't think the execution was the best.

This debut novel hits all the right notes, its funny with a side order of romance and a bit of steam too, I just fell in love with the writing, I know loads of chick lit gets a bit of a bad rap but I'm all here for it, I can't get enough and its not your typical romance novel.

It started with a simple message from the man known as Pina Coladas: 'Message me and Escape.' After dumping her apartment-stealing boyfriend and rooming with her best friend’s dog, the promise of fruity drinks, dancing in the rain, and maybe even a midnight romp, leaves her singing a familiar tune, excited to travel to the Azores with the stranger who answered her wanted ad.

Its so cleverly written there's so many will they won't they moments but actually touches on some serious subjects too so you will be laughing and crying. This is by Brittanee Nicole and its her debut novel, I just can't wait what she releases next, she one to watch that's for sure.

Such a fun and sweet read!! This book has it all - a sweet and sexy romance, beautiful setting, and hilarious characters. I loved Charlotte and Jack’s story, usually I’m not a big lover/believer of “love at first sight” but the author somehow made me believe in it for Charlotte and Jack. I sometimes thought that Charlotte and Jack’s emotions/actions were all over the place and hard to follow and while that is definitely understandable given their whirlwind romance, as the reader, I wish I was clued in a bit more. Nonetheless, a lovely lighthearted read that I would definitely recommend. The setting of the Azores was perfect! Personally had never heard of it before reading but now it’s on my Travel List - I loved that the setting wasn’t a more mainstream location that we see overused in novels. Another strong point of this book was its supporting characters!! I loved everyone from Steph/Pat to Jack’s Great Aunt and adored Belle. I found myself wanting to read more about her and her chance at love so was thrilled at the end to see she has her own book coming out soon! I’ll be reading any books that follow this one for sure!

Special thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and author for the digital ARC. Congrats on a great debut novel!
