This was a really interesting read. I found it super easy to read and the time changes made it great to see how things had changed.

A heartwarming story of growing up, family, love, heartbreak and coming back home. This is the first I've read by Rachel Elliott - I enjoyed the book and will be looking for more by this author.

When Eve and her son Daniel move in to the house next door to Sherry and Leslie and their daughters, the families strike up a close relationship. Years later, Daniel is homeless and struggling through life but he's sure that a return to Norfolk and to the house where he and his mother were happy will get him answers about his past and his mother. This story of found family incorporates kindness, queerness and hope in an Ali Smith-esque novel about a relationship between two women, which is beautiful to witness.

A very unusually written form for this read and one it took me a while to adjust to. But I liked the sentiment and the portrayal. A good take on love, pain and much much more..

Heartfelt and honest.
