OMG! This is an ADORABLE shojo manga. I wasn't sure at first where it was going but I ended up loving it. I love that Madoka is so cute and scared of how Shikura treats her... but somehow they are starting to form a friendship. I am very intrigued by what Shikura's backstory is. Why is he living alone? Why do all the girls stalk him?

Can't wait for more in volume 2.

Thanks to NetGalley for the digital copy.

A extremely cute manga, it starts with Madoka who loves cute guys from shojo, and when she went to work she “hit” by accident with Shikura, a really handsome guy who started to work as the same restaurant she works.

He really have a tsundere personality caused by the trauma of girls stalking him, but she notices she is not like them and slowly by slowly he opened a little to her, showing his cute and shy side.

I really ended wanting more and when volumen 2 is out I will totally purchase, it’s a romance shojo about high schoolers you never get tired, it’s sweet and slow burn, with an amazing drawing, I totally loved this volumen.

Thanks to NetGalley for the digital advance copy of this story.

I just reviewed You're My Cutie, Volume 1 by Nakaba Harufuji. #YoureMyCutieVolume1 #NetGalley

Once again I am here reading shoujo and crying because it's too cute and I just love shoujo - Madoka is very relatable as a heroine because of that.

There's nothing very special about You're My Cutie, at least not so far, since it's just an usual high school romance, but I liked a lot that this time it's the heroine taking care of the love interest all the time. He's clumsy and really really cute and the pretty art translates very well the ~dreamy love-like vibes the story has.

The only reason I can't give full five stars is because I feel like things developed a bit too fast??? The final chapter here seemed to skip over quite a few things but we'll see how it goes. I want to read more of this author lol

This manga was a much needed and welcome reprieve from some heavier recent reads! It was really sweet and I enjoyed it so much!

The setup isn’t quite enemies-to-lovers, but there is definitely a dynamic including mutual dislike at the start, which makes for fun tension as well as an interesting relationship arc — much more interesting IMO than tropes like “friends to lovers” and such.

This dynamic is handled well here and has a fairly original approach, but the emotions are still very relatable: there is mistrust on one side, and annoyance the mistrust and assumptions on the other. The shift isn’t as gradual as it might have been, but it worked well, and also involved a gradual unveiling of a surprising side to Shikura-kun’s personality, which doesn’t match his looks not the first impression he gives. I enjoyed that we as the readers find that out gradually at the same time as Madoka does, I think it helps us build a connection to both characters.

Overall this was really charming and sweet, featuring likeable characters and an interesting dynamic; the characters grew on me very quickly, and I’d love to read the next installment!

Definitely recommended to anyone who likes shoujo manga!

Madoka enjoys shojo manga and when she isn’t at school she has been working at her family’s restaurant due to being short staffed. While working she bumps into Shikura, he gives her a cold attitude even when she tries to hand him his phone back. Then her father tells her he will be working at the restaurant (he did it thinking he was helping her) and she was to train him. Shikura keeps his guard up, due to past experiences; going as far as making sure Madoka is not falling for him. Although he is discovering that he is comfortable around her and doesn’t mind her learning more about him.

As it progresses, I enjoyed it more and am curious about the direction it will go moving forward. I will admit that at first I thought that throughout volume one Shikura was going to have a cold attitude toward Madoka and glad we are seeing different sides of him. I also love the fact thather father was basically trying to be her wingman and hired someone he thought she would like since he felt bad for having her at the restaurant all the time.

This shojo manga is too adorable and the artwork compliments the plot pretty well. The female lead, Madoka, works at her father's restaurant until the male lead, Shizuka, starts working there as a part-timer. He is someone Madoka would see in a shojo manga; gorgeous, sweet, kind. But then in reality he has a bad attitude. Little did she know that after standing up for him and declaring that she doesn't like him, a romance starts to develop between the two of them.

Each chapter has a scenario where the characters are unsure how to interact with each other and eventually they want to get to know each other even more by communicating little by little. It was interesting to see Madoka help Shizuka open up a little, especially when his personality is not always as it seems. Since this is the first volume, there is still room for the characters to grow and develop their relationship. Regardless, it is a promising start! Recommended for those looking for a fun and light cheesy romance

Ok, I fell in love with this book. Shikura is just so adorable, and I love Madoka's personality. I felt that the writing and the plot made this first volume a very quick and engaging read. I love romance, especially cheesy romance, and I was just happy to read another cheesy romance with somewhat normal characters. I think this manga is so far describing a light-hearted friends to lovers, which I find to be refreshing from the enemies to lovers trope. I think I recommend this series to manga readers who love hallmark tropes and anime like kiss him not me. I am totally going to buy this book and then read Volume 2 when it comes out.

I received an e-arc copy of this manga through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I tend to say no to romance stories and I prefer books with as little romance as possible. It’s actually not quite true. I like romance but it has to be hyper cute and adorable. Like so cute you want to scream…😅 And it has to make sense for me, no instant love please, true feelings take time and effort…😉
And this manga was super adorable! I liked both Madoka and Shikura and their slow-to-start romance makes so much sense with his predicament. Although what kind of girls does he meet in his life?!..Seriously amazing and creepy if Madoka’s sensible behaviour is so rare…😂
The first volume ended in a cliffhanger (not surprising) and I would love to read more about Madoka and Shikura in the future!😊

I'd like to thank NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for sending me You're my Cutie, vol. 1 in exchange for an honest review.

This was an incredibly sweet, light-hearted manga that describes the blossoming of an unlikely romance.

Madoka, our protagonist is obsessed with shojo manga—specifically manga that features younger, innocent guys who fall for their Sempai. However, she starts falling for a guy that's totally opposite of that. A rude guy starts working at her father's restaurant and drama follows.

She's a girl that knows what she wants and is not afraid to speak up. I liked that she stood up for him when he was "attacked" by fans.

Both of them have to step out of their own comfort zones. And it's very fun to read about that.

Overall, the story was simple and easy to follow. In my opinion, there wasn't much going on.
The art on the other hand, was ✨ gorgeous ✨

A fun read with lots of cute moments!

I enjoyed the story and blossoming romance, but the male lead is a bit too standoffish for my liking. He comes across as an extreme jerk in the beginning and while I understand where he is coming from, he's not exactly swoonworthy.

However, I'm hopeful that the series gets better and I'll be more emotionally invested.

You're My Cutie was a very sweet book! At first, I wasn't so sure I would be able to like Shikura, but he grew on me. I was glad to see that Kawahara didn't just put up with Shikura's bad attitude, and it was cute to see both of them open up as the book progressed. Molly Karinen's translation was effective and read smoothly, and Juan Marcos Rivera's lettering complemented the art well.

I'm glad to have found a new shojo manga, and I'm excited to read more.
