Wow wow Wow. An outstanding twisted gem of a read. This one just absolutely blew me away. Couldn't put it down. Just wow.

Many mother’s like Ginny, in Missing Daughter develop postpartum depression when they have children and don’t know how to bond with their baby. Now that doesn’t mean that Ginny loves Skylar any less, right? It doesn’t mean that Ginny would do anything to harm her baby girl, right?

Cameron, Ginny’s husband and Skylar’s father has to believe she has nothing to do with her disappearance, right?

However…does Ginny really believe she has nothing to do with her daughters disappearance? Surely she locked every door that night after Skylar’s birthday party.

The twists in this book will definitely not disappoint. Kiersten Modglin is absolutely the QUEEN of twisted endings!

This is a story about Ginny, Cameron, and their daughter Skylar. The day after Skylar’s third birthday party her mother realizes Skylar didn't wake during the night and goes into her bedroom to find her missing. There is no evidence of a break in, so how has she gone missing?

Told from two points of view, the book delves into the lives of Ginny and Cameron and their relationship with Alex, the therapist Ginny is seeing for help with her post natal depression. The characters are well drawn and although I guessed the kidnappers identity early on there was enough in the story to have me doubting myself. The ending was fast paced and satisfying and I recommend it to readers of domestic thrillers.

Another amazing thriller by the queen!! This was fast paced and so well written. I loved the jump in timeline and changes in perspective. While I hade my suspicions on who did it, I never suspected why and was definitely surprised by how it played out!

Huge thanks to Net Galley & Bookouture for a copy in exchange for an honest review!

What an emotional and interesting thriller. I was hooked from the first page, walking through each pages with this domestic thriller which was written very well.

I’m a sucker for psychological thrillers and this was a great read for me. Books that alternate between the past and the present makes the whole plot intriguing which I loved. A wonderfully emotional book!

Wow! My first book by this author and I will definately be looking for more. A 4-year old girl goes missing after her birthday party. Everyone seems to suspect the mother, who has severe postpartum depression. I did not see the twists and turns coming that this story takes, especially the ending. Wow.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kiersten Modglin for this E-ARC in exchange for my honest feedback and review.

Ginny is a mom and a wife who is struggling with post-partum depression. She had a rough childhood which does not help with her abilities as a mother. On her daughter's third birthday her daughter vanishes. Where is Skylar? We have this story from the point of view of Ginny, her husband Cameron, and Alex her therapist.

Kiersten Modglin hits the mark every time. This story had me gripped and wanting to figure out what was going on and where Skylar was. My guesses were no where near what was actually going on. This story kept me on my toes.

A pleasant read. Kierstin knows how to tell a story. With suspance and slow burning. But unfortunately I can not say I like this book a lot like her others I read till now.

First I was afraid was difficult because of missing children. But that is not in the primary plot. There is a mother who is depressed after the bird and needs help. She is confused and searchibg for a way out. She gets to know a therapist on the playground and become friendly with her. She is confused and very depending on this therapist. And she also sleep a lot after the sessions. She is trying, but her husband also doubt her, that she is really trying, he does not trust her. And both have a lot to regret and forgive each other.

Maybe I could connect more to her than him. I liked the end they stood together for the cause. Predictable but not annoying.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture publishers for this Arc.

When 3 year old Skylar goes missing, everyone is a suspect. Could her mother Ginny have done it? Could doting father Cam, or therapist Alex? In a must read Modglin hits this out of the park. In a way, you know who did this, but not the twist at the end. I thoroughly enjoyed this read!

This story centres on a little 3year old girl called Skylar who goes missing on her birthday. Her mum Ginny has been suffering from postnatal depression and struggling to bond with her. She strikes up a friendship with another young woman she has met in the park who also has a young daughter. Alex tells her that she is a therapist and Ginny begs her to counsel her. This is something that Ginny will soon live to regret doing. Alex has a plan and this one won't end well for Ginny and her husband.
I loved this book from start to finish and read it within 2 days.

'Missing Daughter' by Kiersten Modglin was a mixed POV domestic thriller that just kept getting twistier with every chapter.

Ginny and Cameron are a couple with a three year old daughter Skylar. They have a loving family who dote on the little one. Ginny has been through Post Partum depression and has her good days and bad days. The day after Sky's third bday she goes missing from her home. The family is devastated but then the skeletons start falling out of the closet.

I couldn't zero in on one character whom I loved dearly... All of them were troubled and struggling in their own way. Every chapter would lead me to feel that they are right. The story progresses as a three POV story. Each character progresses the story in their own way and keeps the reader hooked.

I loved the unexpected ending and the why of all the characters. If you love who dunnit with a compelling why then you will love this story.

I thank Bookouture and Netgalley for approving my request to read and review the book and all opinions expressed are solely mine.

Always trust a mother’s instinct, especially when others tell you otherwise. A wonderful psychological thriller from Kiersten.

Another amazing thriller. I sorta knew who could of taken the daughter but then I thought if a few different scenarios......I could relate to Ginny a little bit with her PPD and how she thought. The husband I hated and kinda of then understood him at times. But the constant cheating is a huge nope. Especially while his wife is struggling and with the therapist really? Lol I did not trust Alex. Something was off about her but glad my instincts were correct lol. Oh and I definitely need a second book to this because what!!!!! The ending!!!!!

Kiersten Modglin is a writing machine- she knows the formula, she has great plots, well developed characters and knows what we expect of her - and she always delivers. This time, the story is told from three POV’s after a child goes missing after her birthday party. We know not everyone is telling the truth and although one person is definitely struggling with mental health issues we can’t jump to conclusions. This one takes time to develop, stay with it, it’s worth it.

BOOKWORMS REVIEW:
When Ginny and Cameron awaken to find their daughter Skylar is missing,it's their worst nightmare realised. The Couple have been in therapy and the start of the book, focuses on this and on Ginnys depression and suspicions of Camerons infidelity. The second part of the book moves at a faster pace and even though I figured out who the culprit was I was keen to find out why...and this book delivered.
I'd definitely read Kierstens books again.
With thanks to herself,Bookouture and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for my review.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW

Review for 'Missing Daughter' by Kiersten Modglin.

Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Kiersten Modglin, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous

Publication date 8th November 2021.

This is the second book I have read by this author. I have previously read 'Just Married' which I highly recommend.

I was originally drawn to this book by its beautiful eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that 'Fans of Gone Girl, Behind Closed Doors and The Stepdaughter will be utterly gripped.' I am a huge fan of 'Gone Girl' and 'The Stepdaughter' so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I am also a huge fan of Kiersten and if this is half as good as 'Just Married' it is sure to be a page turning read. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).

This novel consists of a prologue and 41 chapters. The chapters are short to medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

This book is based in Tennessee, USA 🇺🇸.

This book is written in first person perspective with the main protagonists being Ginny, Alex and Cameron. The benefits of books written in first person perspective are as long as they are well written it makes you feel that you are being spoken to by the protagonist and it can create more of a bond between yourselves and them. If there are several protagonists you also get to see more of what is going on.

OMG!!!! WHAT DID I JUST READ!!!! I DID NOT EXPECT THAT!!! MIND BLOWN MUCH!!!

Wow!!! This book is fantastically written and had me hook, line and sinker from beginning to end. The descriptions were so in depth and vivid that the hair on. My arms was standing on the ends and I could here the trees in the woods rustling throughout. The synopsis, title and cover were perfect for the storyline.

I was absolutely absorbed throughout this page turner. It is filled with tension, suspense, lies, secrets and omg the twists!!! I DID NOT see any of them coming!!! A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS Kiersten!! It is getting harder and harder to shock me but by God you did that over and over and over!!! What an ending!!! One of the most gripping unputdownable nerve wracking psychological thrillers I have EVER read!!! You lady have one hell of a talent and I cannot wait to get hold of your previous and future books. I cannot remember the last time I was so hooked by a book but you managed that big time!!! Clear your schedule before you start as I read this in one sitting as I could not put it down!! Practically every chapter ended on a cliff hanger so no way could I put it down!! Absolutely hooked!! I would absolutely love to see this turned into a movie!!!!

It is set over multiple time lines. When books show what has happened in the past and what is happening in the present I find it really helps the reader (if it is well done) understand why things are happening and what has lead to the present activities and decisions. It also shows the bigger picture.

I was completely invested in both the storyline and the characters. Gunny, Alex and Cameron were all such realistic characters and just wow well I just didn't see ANY of that coming. I can't actually say anything else about them without giving anything away!!!

This is exactly why you are in my top author Club Kiersten and your book is one of the best psychological thrillers I have EVER READ!! Bring on the next one!!! I cannot wait!!! Here's to the next success 🥂

Overall an absolutely heart racing, never wracking, unputdownable addictive psychological thriller!!!

Genres covered in this novel include Thriller Psychological Thriller, Mystery and Suspense amongst others.

I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans of 'Gone Girl' , 'Behind Closed Doors', 'The Stepdaughter' and absolutely anyone looking for an explosive page turner including you!!! What are you waiting for?!?

326 pages.

This book is just £1.99 to purchase on kindle via Amazon or free on kindle unlimited which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!

Rated 5/5 (I LOVED it ) on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon UK and Amazon US and on over 30 Facebook pages plus my blog on Facebook.

I quite enjoyed this book , thought it was a bit slow getting going . Not much tension but the second half was definitely better . I loved the story though , even though it was quite obvious she wasn’t going to turn out to be a therapist. I loved the ending . Worth 4 starts just had something missing for me . I would recommend a read of this book though

Ginny is a mom struggling with post-partum depression while trying to survive each day with her three year old daughter and husband Cameron. The day after Skyler’s third birthday Ginny and Cam wake up to find her missing. Of course the police focus on the parents as the main suspects. But who really did what and why?

I was excited to finally get my hands on a book by this author. It was challenging to like the characters at the beginning. The initial third of this book was a bit of a slow burn but then I could not put this one down. I kept pulling it out to read when I was supposed to be doing other things. I did have my suspicions about the kidnapper but further twists and details I could not have guessed. I enjoyed this one and can’t wait to read others by Kiersten Modglin.

Thank you to @netgalley and @bookouture for the ARC copy of this one! This one came out Monday!

This wasn't really for me. I find the writing style just doesn't have enough hooks to get me to be as interested as I should be.

This is my second book I have read of this authors and I have come to the conclusion that her work while it is okay just isn't for me.
