Wonderful read to share with children, a lovely story with even more beautiful illustrations. The story is humorous, holds your interest (and the child’s which is the important thing) and is well written, I loved this and so did my girls, it made us laugh and smile , we love all animals , but cats are their favourite so a big thumbs up from us

Me and my son read this book together.
We got a cat just before Halloween and it is my sons favourite time of year so he really enjoyed reading this.
Beancat really is a great little fur character we loved investigating on this adventure to see if the witch was real or not,
The series is great too they are just so much fun and light hearted.

Furry Purry Beancat wakes up into one of her nine lives and finds herself slap bang in the middle of a witch-hunt in a completely unfamiliar time period where King Charles is dead and Roundheads are roaming the forest. This is an entertaining adventure for Furry Purry Beancat as she aims to prevent an innocent healer from being labelled a witch with the help of another cat, mice and a toad. The illustrations by Rob Biddulph set the scene perfectly.

An excellent addition to the series about the amazing Furry Purry Beancat and her nine lives. Philip Ardagh has once again given us an exciting story for the younger reader, whilst at the same time giving a real sense of the period the book is set it and the dangers that were faced by herbalists and healers. This works both as an adventure and also an introduction to Stuart life, that is not based on the nobility, but on the lives of ordinary people.
