Summary:

In a world where heroes and villains exist, how long do you think it would take before they start falling in love with their opponents? It's bound to happen, right? Enter Fudo Aikawa, aka Red Gelato of the Gelato Five, and Gekko, Desumi Magahara.

They live on opposite sides of this war. One is a hero, the other a queen among villains. Will their love survive? Can they keep it hidden? What will happen should their love come out into the open?

Review:

Okay, Love After World Domination, Vol. 1 is a seriously funny and cute series. You'll probably enjoy this series if you love forbidden romances with a sense of humor and an overall light touch! Given how many dark series are out there, I appreciated this lighter read.

My only regret about this series? It starts with our two leads already in love. I would have adored the chance to see them meet and fall in love. That will have a lot of opportunities if you ask me. However, I understand and appreciate what the author is trying to do here by throwing us into the middle of the romance.

This is a series to look out for, as it will likely be worth following. I'm not sure how long they can keep things a secret – especially in a more comedic telling. That alone means that somebody is going to mess up at some point. Can't wait to see how it goes.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for the opportunity to read and review this manga. This manga is one that I am confused about but at the same time I am curious about at the same time. This is because the romance is swoony adorable plus its forbidden similar to Boarding School Juliet (so if you guys enjoy that series, I highly recommend this one). My problem though, is that I am confused on the world. I can tell there's two sides to these people but what kind of jobs are the people doing? Are they superheroes and supervillains? or they are secret agents like Kim Possible??? I am not sure, but I am hoping as the series goes on, I understand more. Overall, though, I am rooting for this couple and excited to see how this series turns out. Because of these points, I have to give this manga a 4 out of 5 stars

This was a surprisingly sweet, awkward and goofy romance between 2 fairly clueless, star-crossed lovers. Will be interesting to see how far they can carry the joke before the whole good versus evil conundrum becomes a problem, but so far they're mostly ignoring the concept.

I really didn't get a chance to read this manga but I still want to read it when we get it at my library. I know it is getting a anime so it might be popular.

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher/author for providing me with an e-copy in exchange for my honest review.

It was such a great story. I would say give this one a try. I will continue to follow this author. Way to go to this author for not letting me down.

This was a very funny volume. I didn’t expect much from this manga but I was nicely surprised. It is classified as a shounen but I would say it is more a shoujo than a shounen.
Indeed, we have a romance between Fudo, the leader of the hero team, and Desumi, the leader of the villain team. It reminds me a bit of Romeo and Juliet in that, they are from opposing teams and cannot tell people about their feelings. However, this doesn’t prevent them from trying to date and see each other. It creates really funny situation. I enjoyed it a lot.
I recommend to people looking for a light and funny manga. Also, it is adapted in anime and I haven’t seen it yet, but I believe it will be good.

I unfortunately decided to DNF this manga. I got a bit into it and I just know I won’t enjoy the rest of it - but it seems to have positive reviews, so it seems to be mostly my taste.

I wasn’t a fan of the character design of the main female character - her clothing was revealing and she was scantily clad, and she was also designed with a large chest and very low cut clothes. The design was really unnecessary.

The world was also hard to understand, and as a reader you were just thrown into it so I found it confusing.

Thank you to Kodansha Comics for providing me with an eARC of this volume on NetGalley!

This was a very sweet, carefree story. We're following our two protagonists in a world where superheroes exist, and they're divided into the good the bad side, constantly fighting. If you let go of all world logic and just enjoy the ride, seeing two young people figuring out how dating works in this weird setting is very fun to enjoy! Just don't try and think about why they're fighting, or how they fell for each other in the first place. Did I mention their mortal enemies!?

I definitely recommend this series if you're in need of a fun read you can turn your brain off and just enjoy :D

A fun light-hearted read but can fall a bit on the cliche side, however that doesn't stop the book for being an enjoyable read with some truly fun moments,

Love After World Domination is a romantic comedy with classic superhero tropes. This is what makes it so special. In this review, I’m sharing my initial impressions before and after reading the manga.

What I thought of as just a hero-villain manga has a complex feeling into it. The story of Love After World Domination revolves around Fudo Aikawa and Desumi Magahara and their separate surroundings.

# Who are these two (and why they fell in love)?

Fudo is Red Gelato, leader of Gelato 5, while Desumi is the Reaper Princess, one of the leaders of evil organization Gekko. Both are high school students who fell in love with each other. Together, they keep their relationship a secret from everyone.

As I read through the first chapter, I unravel the start of the relationship between the two. The pacing is well enough for the typical reader to absorb it. What’s catching my attention is the cuteness of Desumi herself, provoking us to stare at the panel and simply admire her.

# The contrast between the hero and the enemy

Desumi’s a beauty who loves cute things, while Fudo is a health buff who keeps himself fit. Desumi lives in the Gekko dorms while I see Fudo living in the Gelato 5 headquarters.

In contrast, while Desumi is drawn thoroughly, Fudo is drawn way simpler. This gives us a signal to focus more on Desumi. Still, you can put them together for a combination that is just right.

Each romantic moment is such a tease. In most instances, their lovey-dovey relationship gets interrupted. Being a hero and a villain from opposite sides sure is hard, but loving each other and keeping it a secret between their respective organizations? It takes some mental gymnastics to get away scot-free.

To top it all, both are starting to get into terms about love, and loving each other. This is a story of a forbidden love, set in a world where super heroes save the day.

As mentioned, Fudo and Desumi are drawn and designed differently as characters. This gives off a wide gap, making the two easily recognizable.

Also, the way the story is weaved is enough for the reader to appreciate the environments these two have.

Overall, Love After World Domination is a must-read for fans of the Super Sentai series who want to be blessed with some romantic-comedy goodness.

Quick, breezy read, but predictable. I'm not sure this would fit with the regular manga readers at my library, but libraries with a very large manga collection could add this title.

One of my favorite mangas I've read this year. This romantic comedy takes place in a power-rangers like world where the villain and the hero have actually fallen in love and have to keep it secret while pretending to fight on the battlefield. Red, the hero, is a muscle head guy with passion for getting stronger but not much social experience. Reaper Princess, the villain, is a girl who secret loves all things cute but puts up a facade of being the tough girl. This is easily a funny idea to start, but the jokes all hit well and leave me dying in laughter. This is a manga that has all the potential to be a cult classic if it hits the right audience.

Rating: 3 🌟
First and foremost, I'd like to express my gratitude to Netgalley and Kodansha Comics for providing me with an e-ARC of this manga.
At the end of the manga, I had mixed feelings because I didn't adore it, but I also didn't dislike it. Personally, I found the second half to be more engaging than the first. With several engaging scenes between the key characters, it was improved. Some of the scenes were rushed by me since I thought they could be taken more leisurely.

Amusing twist on familiar genre. The handling of some of the events were clever (without giving spoilers) for how the couple hides their relationship. Not a lot of character development so far, mostly just going along the lines of Romeo and Juliet style of story. Pacing is good and doesn't drag, but there's not a lot of story, it's mostly just focused on the couple being funny/awkward and working around the conflicting sides that get in their way.

This was a super cute forbidden romance story about a hero falling for a villain and trying to date whilst fighting each other. It was absolutely ridiculous really and a bit jokey at times but it was a lot of fun. These two were very unlikely lovers and both completely useless at dating and had no idea what romance really means but they made it work.

Being on opposite sides of the battlefield means that they can't be seen together unless its fighting so they pretend a lot. We do see them go on dates and making excuses to see each other. The main characters were cute and I liked that the girl was a total badass villain and everyone thinks of her as evil but at home she is a girly girl and is happy that this boy sees that side of her. The boy is a total gym nerd and oblivious to all his adoring fans.

Overall this was fun, quirky, super cute and had really great artwork. I would definitely like to continue with this series and see where it goes next!

I personally LOVED this story and want to read them all. As a middle school librarian, I would not chose to add this to my collection for the main reason of the illistrations, particularly the combat outfit of the main female character, but it is not marketed for middle school. I would think high schools should be fine to purchase. The storyline is so amusing I burst out laughing multiple times. The characters are awkwardly adorable and romance lovers will quickly fall for their ridiculous "forbidden love" love story. I highly recommend a read for romance manga lovers, though it is formatted in traditional English graphic novel left-to-right.

I nearly died laughing on the contents page of this book, so I went into this book with much higher expectations then I would normally going into a manga.
Even with my already high expectations this Manga blew me into the stratosphere with how much joy it brought me.
This is the first RomCom Manga that I have picked up in a long time that made me genuinely laugh. While also making me love and root for the couple.

My one nitpick is that it is titled "Love After World Domination" and Desumi is definitely still on the road to World Denomination.
I did enjoy that Gekko leadership is made up of three girls and a bear, and nearly everything in regards to the Gelato 5 is incredibly humorous to me.

Will I be continuing this? YES
Will I be watching the anime in 2022? Most Defenitely.

This super cute forbidden romance manga completely warmed my heart. Love After World Domination follows two young lovers: Fudo Aikawa, a.k.a. Red Gelato and a hero of the people, and Desumi Magahara, a.k.a. the Reaper Princess, a villain of the shadowy enemy organization. Neither have any experience with relationships, on top of the obstacles they face from being on opposite sides.

The chemistry between the main couple was adorable, and it was impossible not to root for them as they tried their best to be together. The art style was just as cute as Fudo and Desumi, and I'm really looking forward to volume 2 after that little cliffhanger!

This title was really cute but had a lot of unnecessary shots of the girls scantily clad. Reaper Princess is a part of an evil organization. Red is part of a hero organization. The two fall in love on a mission against each other and turn subsequent missions into dates. The story between the two seemed sincere but their goals within their organizations weren't revealed so that was pretty flat. The two of them are trying to keep their relationship a secret but after a mission to an amusement park they may have been discovered by one of Red's colleagues.

Thanks to NetGalley and Kondasha comics for letting me read this story in exchange for an honest review.

3.5/5

This comic was not my first from Kondasha comics and not the last one for sure. I really love reading their stories so I often look out if there's any more they have posted.

After finishing this story I had mixed feeling, I wasn't too sure about my opinion on it. It had great illustrations and I really liked the idea. It's not so often we get heroes stories.

Love After World Domination was a comic that had romance, action, enemies to lovers (tho not exactly) more like lovers pretending they are enemies. So the main characters are Red, whose real name is Fudo Aikawa, and the Reaper Princess, or Desumi Magahara. Fudo is the leader of Gelato 5, while Desumi is the leader of Gekko, evil organization.

The two of them should be mortal enemies, but their relatioship takes a bit different turn. They start to like each other and some time after they start to date. Both of them are not sure how does relationship and dating life looks like, so there's many funny pages/chapters with them trying to figure things out.

I really love their relationship, cause Fudo lets Desumi feel like a normal girl, while many look at her like she's a killing machine. Deep inside she likes all the girly stuff, the color pink and other things.

Only reason why I rate this books 3.5/5 it's cause I don't like heroes stories as much, but it was a great story for sure.
