This was such a cute manga and I loved the art style! These characters are so socially awkward it's easy to relate to them!!

I loved the idea of this, two fighters on different sides who fall in love and have to hide it! It's such a crazy but funny scenario with the two trying to date and be normal whilst having to pretend their mortal enemies!

Honestly a light-hearted and fun read!

Thank you so much to Kodansha and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

ARC Copy...I'm split on this so far. One side of me feels its just like any light novel fantasy style but other half of me feels, it's interesting when Power Ranger-eques Hero falls in love with the Villainess and goes on cute stealth dates with her.

Thank you to Netgalley for approving this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'm honestly not sure what I was expecting going into this one. I have to admit, I enjoyed it way more then I thought I would.

The romance was super cute, the characters were adorable, the action is pretty good, and there's a cat. What more could I want?

The only negative for me, is it felt like there was a bit of over explanation, especially in the beginning. The reiteration of the 2 main characters relationship did get a little annoying.

I'm definitely excited to pick up the next one and see where this story goes.

I was not expecting to enjoy this story as much as I did! Following the cute romance of two characters on opposite sides of good and evil, Love After World Domination was light hearted and surprisingly very wholesome! I'm very interested to see how the rest of the story plays out, especially since at a certain point the scenarios the plot lines may get redundant.

Fudo, also known as Red Gelato, is the leader of Gelato 5. Gelato 5 is a force that fights to pretext world peace against the secret organization Gekko. Desumi, also known as the Reaper Princess, is the leader of Gekko. Although they are "enemies", Fudo and Desumi are dating and use the battles to secretly meet each other while the others are fighting. Due to a battle at an amusement park, one of Fudo's teammates discovers a photo of Fudo and a girl on one of the rides. Was their relationship discovered?

Desumi is misunderstood by others but Fudo knows so much about her before they even started dating. Neither have dating experience but their interactions with one another are sweet. At first I wasn't sure about this one, but after reading it, I enjoyed it with some funny moments. I love the fact that Desumi and Fudo happy doing what the other wants to do, especially the chapter where Fudo plans their first date. I will be looking out for volume 2.

Thank you Netgalley and Kodansha for this e-ARC

Love After World Domination. I did not expect the twist at the beginning HAHA. So technically Desumi & Fudo are in love but they're supposed to be enemies. So they act like enemies in front of their troops but lovey dovey behind them. A FORBIDDEN LOVE TROUPE! Desumi is the Reaper Princess of the evil Gekko organization and Fudo is a Red Gelato, leader of the Gelato Five. I love seeing how both of this character tried to maintain their relationship despite being in a different faction.

This manga is very light, it do have some action in it and forbidden love story. I am looking forward to see how these two hide their relationship from everyone. It cracks me up whenever they're being lovey dovey but being interrupted by their teammates and they go all out acting like they're fighting with each other.

When they wear normal clothing, I'm totally speechless. DESUMI IS SO PRETTY. I mean with her costume she's already gorgeous, but with casual clothes, my love for her spikes up! But their date is hilarious, they did extraordinary stuff that couples don't usually do. Desumi is such an angel. I'm really loving this manga. Looking forward to read the other volumes!

[Thanks to Netgalley and Kodansha for an advance copy in exchange for an inbiased review.]

Desumi and Fudo are dating, which would be fine except she’s the Reaper Princess of the evil Gekko organization and he’s Red Gelato, leader of the Gelato Five, a heroic sentai outfit. Love is a battlefield, but even moreso when it’s ON the battlefield. Then again, what’s a weapon-toting bear between friends?

This book didn’t start out like much, but it keeps hammering the charm button so much that by the end I have to admit I was totally won over by these two goofballs. I mean, you just have to kind of hand wave Desumi’s outfit, which is of both its genres, but this story works out in the end.

Part of it is that the book totally commits to its bit and then iterates on the joke it’s telling rather than strictly rehashing it. At first Desumi and Fudo are telegraphing their moves to one another (well, except at the end, where Desumi turns out to have poor coping skills), but eventually they’re flinging maps around to plan out date spots.

I don’t think it’s a laugh out loud book, but the sense of fun and abundance of cute really proved irresistible. The best laugh is probably when Gekko is planning another assault and Desumi keeps trying to suggest date locations as potential targets (I would have loved to see that aquarium fight).

It has a wry sense of itself even as it has dumb stuff like the Gelato Five (although Fudo’s teammates are thus far amusing hinderances). I loved watching the second date where they sneak off and get out of their costumes only to put on different costumes to get some time to themselves. It just feels like a book that knows what’s up.

Then you have an adorable cat and an evil talking bear who makes me laugh just by his devotion to his job. What more do you want? These two aren’t the most original - Fudo is a huge workout buff who can’t technology to save his life (their first phone call was great), while Desumi is really sweet and heavily into cute things.

What makes this work is that these two are funny and the scenario is comedic, but the story is not dumping on them or making them constantly the butt of the jokes. It bothers to write these two as something other than a gag (though they do get dunked on occasionally) and in selling their relationship sells the rest of the volume as well.

When Fudo thinks he’s utterly ruined a date, it turns out that he just got bad advice. And he, in turn, sees Desumi as more than just an evil villain and appreciates her cute side. They’re actually good for one another - half the shojo I read can even manage that!

I mean, yes, you have that outfit of Desumi’s (and all the evil princesses, bar one) and there are a few less than pure jokes but they’re not the point of the whole thing. This is just a fun read that has a romantic beating heart and I appreciate that.

3.5 stars and I can’t genuinely round this down because it was so enjoyable after a wobbly start, even if I don’t think it warrants the full four. I had such a good time watching these two and I will definitely keep with this series until the joke gets stale. A very pleasant surprise!

Review to come in a few days to blog/goodreads.

I received this book from Netgalley/Kodansha in exchange of an honest review.

OK, this was even more fun than I had expected. It was just so hilarious and cute, and funny, and I loved it. I need more of this series right NOW!

Meet our two lovers, Red (or Fudo) and Reaper Princess (or Desumi). These two are in a very forbidden relationship, because well... they are the leaders of two factions/two sides. One is the side of good, Red and his other Gelato Rangers. And then there is Reaper Princess who is part of the evil faction. There are constant battles between good and evil with them in the spotlight. For some reason Fudo/Red fell completely head over heels with Desumi. I don't blame him, she is adorable and her Instagram account is filled with cute things. I just absolutely loved seeing these two try to figure out how to maintain a relationship and date while being part of two different sides. Not an easy task given how much of a spotlight is on these two leaders. So we see them try to have a fun time while their minions/fellow peeps on their side are battling (yes, really) and then having to engage in fake fighting when someone pops up near them. Which just had me in stitches.

I had such a big laugh in the beginning when we found out how Fudo/Red asked Desumi/Reaper Princess out/told her he liked her. She didn't believe him until he started summing up all the things she likes and does in her free time. XD And then came the first hurdle... both had no clue how dating or relationships worked. Yep, these two are so into the battles and trying to have a life around that (with High School stuff as well which I didn't expect given how old both of them looked) that they just haven't had time to do dating stuff. Well, then again, Fudo is pretty clueless. Whereas I could see Desumi just date, I don't see Fudo do that. But these two found each other. And I am rooting for them!

This was just too much fun to read. Dates, infiltration missions, telephone numbers exchanges, and much more. I loved how Desumi at one point managed to make the next mission to take place at the amusement park she and Fudo wanted to go to. Girl, effort, but I love it!

Given the ending of Chapter 5 and 6... I am curious how this will go on... Give me the next volume!!

That bonuschapter was just the cutest! Thanks for adding it author, because I love it!

All in all, I will end it here though I would love to chat more about this fun manga, if you are in for a superhero/supervillain manga in which the two leaders date and love silly situations and great art, be sure to check out this one!

Just a cutesy manga about a fated couple who are in a forbidden love because they are mortal enemies. There wasn’t much it could offer but only the art….
