The time period of this book made it especially delicious! The author takes us back to 1989 and to a small town, where a new college graduate is trying to make her name as a reporter.
At the beginning of the book, some of what was happening defied belief, but as I continued reading, I was drawn into the story and what first seemed like unbelievable corruption, began to take shape as reality. The story is both humorous at times and dead serious in other ways.
The ending seemed a little weak to me. Readers will want to know what happens next since the characters are at odds with what they want in life. Perhaps a follow up book is coming?
