Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher/author for providing me with an e-copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book was exactly what I wanted it to be! I loved it. I will make sure to check out other books by this author. When I requested this I was just intrigued by the concept of it and I loved how it turned out. This story had a great plot and if you have read this and enjoyed it, This was so much. It was such a great story. I would say give this one a try. I will continue to follow this author. Way to go to this author for not letting me down.

Thank you to netgalley for allowing me to read books ad give critical feedback to authors and publishers. Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me to read the eARC of this book.

Apologies for the late review of this book.

This is a short easy book to read in a few hours in the evening so I sat and read it all in one evening, I have never read anything from Emily Whartynne before. I liked the book overall but it didn't seem to draw me into the story, there seemed to be a block between me and the story but I don't know if that me or the story.

I’m going to be completely honest, I’m not sure what I just read. Arasyll loses her father after he reveals a huge secret. She’s shipped off to an academy, there’s some magic but not by the students. I think there was werewolves that only were discussed when one character needed to be shot and then not die? Arasyll had visions and talks to ghosts. She’s looking for her mother but that plot line got dropped halfway through. It’s like this book had so much but also resolved nothing at the same time. I’m confused on what the world was supposed to be? Honestly this book seems like a disjointed draft of 3 different books

Interesting read. Definitely gothic feeling in it. Intriguing characters. Novel which can make you think what humanity is capable to do, how far some goes with manipulating other people minds.

I can not express enough about the plot. The plot is so interesting that you will find yourself gasping everytime you find something new. Thank you so much netgalley providing an arc!
I really like the worldbuilding, and how the author can create a world that has the capability of making us vicariously live through it. I feel like the introduction was a bit too slow-paced for me. The characters are fairly interesting.
Henceforth, it was quite a good read.
