Pub Quiz by Eric Saunders - I found it a bit frustrating reading this on kindle that the answers were all at the end.

This book is EXACTLY what is needed for quiz night. With over 4000 questions we don’t need to worry about running out of questions before we are ready for game night to be over! The only thing I don’t like is that this book has the answers at the end of the book so it makes it difficult to keep jumping back and forth especially if you are reading on a kindle. It’s probably best to buy this book in physical form.

This is a great guide for fans of trivia and those wanting to start their own pub quiz/trivia night. The first part of the book details how to organize, market, and profit from an event, with tips on insurance coverage and what supplies will be needed. The questions are organized in clear categories making them easy to find and refer back to as needed. There were several that were repeated but as long as you choose your sets beforehand you can read through and make sure you don't use them. This is the perfect resource for planning your own event and preparing for ones run by others. I'll definitely refer to this often before I attend trivia events.

Wow! Loads of trivia to keep everyone entertained for hours. This book covers lot of subjects so everyone can get a chance to answer and score a few points. I am pretty sure the book can be used anywhere, not just the local pub. Kudos Mr. Saunders.

Calling all trivia buffs and quiz hounds! Great resource for pub trivia nights with over 4000 questions, most of which are quite difficult. There are pages at the front to also help you set up a trivia night event, even taking into consideration insurance, so the night is a success. This is also good for catch ups over zoom and a bit of fun while in lockdown or separated from loved ones with lots of varied questions broken down into different categories. Great resource and handy to brush up on knowledge.

Definitely by this book in paperback. This would be so much more useful if the answers were only a page or two past the questions but the links that are supposed to take you back and forth were difficult to use. Much easier flipping in a real book.
With an outline of how to set up your quiz nights, this book prepares you to host for your friends or even for locals down at the bar. There are hopefully going to be some edits because some of the questions aren't phrased well but overall a nice collection of questions. Just make sure you read through each of your lists and make sure there are no repeats.

I love a good quiz and especially a pub quiz, this book is perfect for anyone trying to create their own quiz, wether for a pub night, a family night or with your mates. It’s well organised into topics ranging fromTV, Films, history to General Knowledge. I did think the explanation of how to have a quiz wasn’t really needed, but the questions are really good and not too easy, a really good knowledge level.

Who doesn't love a quiz?! This book is brilliant for times when your quizmaster yet have no new questions to ask, what you need is this brilliant book, it's crammed with thousands of quiz questions. Truly brilliant and easy to read. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Hubby and I are trivia hounds. He was on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in the first season and has always been the go to go for any trivia events our friends are attending. This is the kind of book we like...we can interact and question each other as we learn new things. We'll be spending time reading through them all as we prep for our next trivia event. Hoping for more of these over time. :)

As an Qmericqn with two best friends that live in Cambridge shire, this book is a total treat. I've always heard of the great British pub quizzes and now I have an entire set of multitudes of questions to host either a pub quiz might or a trivia night. A fun resource to own

Quizzes are all the rage these days. Even before the recent early lockdown craze for Zoom quizzing, the activity had already become a regular feature of pub life before the end of the last decade.
And this book aims to be the perfect guide for anyone planning a pub quiz of their own.
Basically, there are a few perhaps slightly unnecessary chapters explaining how to do the quiz, then a selection of several hundred questions on a variety of topics. These topics range from the obvious (General Knowledge, History, Films and TV) to the more specific (The Simpsons, Science Fiction etc).
The questions are generally good. On average, most are on the hard side. The movie questions seem to disproportionately favour films from the 1990s. Ultimately, my main criticism would be that some questions (or very similar versions of them) appear repeatedly throughout the book.

I do a monthly Trivia & Coffee at our local library. It's always good to have another source to turn to when I run out of ideas. I loved this book. It will be a great reference for me.

Pros: My family and I had so much fun reading this book on a road trip. One of our favorite pastimes is playing trivia games, so this book was a great way to pass the time in the car. This book worked wonderfully in kindle format as the answers popped up as a footnote. Everyone was able to guess at the answers without them being spoiled by being on the page.

Cons: This isn’t a con but more of just a note to readers that this book is more for a British audience than American. Some of the questions were easier for Americans and others seemed like questions Brits would definitely know but Americans would know nothing about the topic. Most of the questions however were for a very broad audience.

There are a great variety of quiz questions. However, in my opinion, the General Knowledge questions are a little too difficult (but that might just be because my general knowledge is poor!)

Right now Matt Amodio will walk away from Jeopardy with over one million, two hundred thousand dollars. So, clearly trivia can be both fun and profitable or maybe both together. In any event, those who enjoy challenges will enjoy this title.

The author includes over 4,000 questions. So many categories are covered; to name some: General Knowledge, Movies, Music, Science, Religion, Geography, Classical Music, Art, Mythology and many more. Luckily the answers are also provided!

I found the questions to be challenging and discovered I knew much less than I thought. Still, I will have fun dipping in and out of this title to test myself.

The author also offers a lot of practical advice on how to run a quiz night. This was quite helpful.

All in all, an excellent resource for its audience. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title.

This has a great intro that details how to organize and run a pub quiz. It then includes 400+ rounds of 10 questions each, each organized around a particular theme. Answers to each of the rounds are in the back. The themes are pretty straightforward (e.g. Science, Literature, General Knowledge). If you're looking for a big list of trivia questions, this is a great find. However, if you're looking for a quiz book that goes a bit beyond with fun categories (e.g. Before and After), this doesn't do that.

Want to host a quiz night? This is the perfect book for you. Not only does it have really interesting questions (and not common) and answers it has everything you need to know to start planning.

I do wish the answers were at the end of each section instead of all at the end of the book but it was easy enough to flip back and forth. I thought I was good at trivia before this book so I will definitely be studying this book before trying my hand at bar trivia.

This would have been the ideal book for me for over the lockdown.
With family members “meeting up on Zoom “ each week for a quiz we struggled for questions , and meant one of us was left scratching our heads for inspiration .
Hopefully, over Christmas when we are all able to be together 🤞,we can use this book and all participate.
I obviously haven’t read too much of this, but from skimming through it appears to have a good range of suitable questions for all the family.

This is a great pub quiz book which not only comes with a great range of questions and answers but even provides a great step by step guide on how to put on a quiz night/charity quiz. From how to organise, people on hand to help, how much to charge, venue, microphone and sound all the way to feeding your hungry quizzers. The introduction covers everything! You will be prepared when the time comes! That is ofcourse your arranging a more professional quiz!

Ofcourse the questions are also great if you just want a bit of fun with family. All the questions are arranged into smaller themed rounds and it is easy to have a small quick game or make a longer game of it. With over 4000 questions and answers it will keep your entertained for many hours!

Definitely recommend as a stocking filler for any quiz lovers at Christmas!
