Anna and her husband John decide to use a private sperm donor when they discover they cannot get pregnant on their own. When Anna becomes pregnant, she is over the moon! This is everything she's been hoping for, until something happens that makes her question whether or not her and John made the right decision...

Spoilers below! I loved the premise of this book - it sounded like it would be a solid psychological thriller. However, I felt like the plot was not as developed as it could have been. It was also very difficult to believe certain aspects - such as Anna jumping on a plane to visit a shady psych hospital in Spain. This relates to my other disappointment, absolutely no explanation of why Uri was there or if she was somehow involved in the murders. Again, I really liked the concept but it just fell a little flat for me.

Ohh my god this book!! What can I say! Its so well written and researched. The Story had me constantly on the edge of my seat. Even when I assumed I knew what would happen in the end there was then another twist which had me second guessing myself. I really enjoyed this story. It was out of my normal genre of books but I am so glad I give it a go. Read this book and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. I certainly wasn't.

I can not express enough about the plot. The plot is so interesting that you will find yourself gasping everytime you find something new. Thank you so much netgalley providing an arc!
I really like the worldbuilding, and how the author can create a world that has the capability of making us vicariously live through it. I feel like the introduction was a bit too slow-paced for me. The characters are fairly interesting.
Henceforth, it was quite a good read.

I loved the premise of this thriller- a woman and her husband, seeking to get pregnant enlist the help of a donor who may have a dark secret.

I was a bit underwhelmed at the author’s attempt to add a “twist” by introducing a potential suspect in the form of an old roommate and disliked how he relied on female jealousy and the character’s bipolar diagnosis as an explanation of motive.

I read this book in a single sitting as it was quite captivating, though I do admit it was fairly predictable. I did enjoy the sprinkling of psychology throughout the novel and the exploration into “nature” vs. “nurture”. I found the couple’s predicament (do we want to give birth to a child that is potentially the child of a serial killer? What, if any, impact will that have on the child? Will they be vulnerable, themselves, to violence?) quite interesting and one I continue to think on after finishing this book.

All in all, I did find this a very enjoyable and quickly paced read and would enjoy reading other books by this author.
