Cute little Halloween story for younger children that my daughter enjoyed reading to me!
Lovely illustrations too - very eye-catching.

I like a nice corrective to the whole Halloween brouhaha now and again, and this is a perfect one. A field of pumpkins have already been carved into beastly shapes before they're chosen by the public, but one is a gormless-looking grinner. A cute, happy-with-itself, gormless-looking grinner. The only child to pick that would be a shy lad, not keen on the whole spook-fest and vaguely afraid of being in a large farm field at dusk with nothing to choose but a gurning gourd. Luckily, such a child exists – and thank the heavens for all our differences. No, I shouldn't normally convey the whole plot and the whole message, but it's such a welcome and yet such an obvious one, and my readers aren't the ones who will judge these pages – kids will easily love this bright and colourful story without my impetus. I've made it patently obvious what you're getting, which is a successful book. I'll leave the real surprises for the night itself... Four and a half stars.

Halloween is approaching, and people are going to the pumpkin patch to pick a scary looking pumpkin! But, oh no! What about the one with the happy smile?

This is a short sweet one in the vein of the teddybear whose smile was sown on upside down. It's a cartoon I vividly remember watching, about the last one to be chose, and will he find a forever home?

While I love all the things creepy, it's nice to have something non-creepy for the chilren. Let's draw them in with happyly smiling pumpkins, heh.

This is a cute and uplifting book that follows a Happy Pumpkin, who is teased and left behind for being 'different'. I really enjoyed the lessons it teaches such as being apologetically yourself, that it's okay to be different, and that everyone has their own likes, fears and preferences. The illustrations were delightful as well.

A meaningful and lovely read that's perfect for all children.
