Told in altering timelines of today and from her college days, this is the PERFECT stay up all night thriller that'll keep you up these long winter nights. It'll draw you in and keep you guessing until the very end. One of the very best thrillers of the year!

College. It’s supposed to be a fun time. Time to learn, grow, experiment with things, and meet your best friends for life. It seems like such an idyllic time, until it isn’t. Things happen, secrets once shared are buried, and you’re left with a legacy that tarnishes the fun memories that you tried so hard to build. Such is life as we know it for Juliana (Jules) and her friends in Deadly Little Lies.

From the first page, I was hooked. Ms. DeCarolis’s beautiful prose captivates you, luring you in; yet it’s her pacing that keeps you on the edge of your seat as throughout the novel, she unravels a tragic game played by mean girls that could have been scripted by the girls from Heathers. Setting this game played out in fictional Westbridge University against bucolic (and downright gorges) Tompkins County is a masterful stroke in contrast, as the forest becomes a backdrop for murder.

Finding out who was behind the sinister game of cat-and-mouse had me up all night. I needed to know who was wreaking havoc against Juliana (Jules), Tori, and Nessa, threatening to shatter the life that they desperately tried to build after one fateful night.

This was my first read by Ms. DeCarolis and I can’t wait to see what she has in store next.

Five out of five stars. Highly recommended.

A twisty thriller about old friends. It wasn't quite the book for me, but I enjoyed it and would recommend to others.

I am afraid that this was anything but an edge-of-my-seat thriller, it was a rather collection of women hiding a secret from their college days. The subterfuge and dishonesty really irritated me, as I am a totally honest person and will not tolerate anything but that.
The idea of causing martial problems due to the dishonesty really should not be necessary, a marriage is two minds coming together to solve problems and that should be the basis of any relationship, without that you have nothing.

I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley for the e-copy.
Very gripping, exactly what you'd look for in a beach/holiday read. You have to suspend disbelief a little, and it goes on for a bit too long in the middle, but overall enjoyable! A well written murder-mystery thriller in the standard college-girls gone bad format. 4 stars.

I really wanted to enjoy this book, but unfortunately it did not work for me.
I'm usually a huge fan of dual timeline but here I only enjoyed the "now" parts as they were quite fast. The "Then" parts were boring and it took FOREVER to get anywhere really.
It's basically a book about privileged white women pittying themselves against each other for the attention od a mediocre white man. Yawn.
What I hate the most are dim characters trying to cover up their lies and secrets so much that it becomes ridiculous. I swear, one honest convo between the MC and her husband would have resolved everything. I swear, the older I get the more I get annoyed with people who just refuse to talk to each other like they were 14yo teens.

What I enjoyed about this book was writing which was compelling. The book wad a fast-read, although i admit I've done a quite a bit of skimming at times.

Wow was this thrilling! A drama stemming from the good ole college days. Each friend with a secret that could upend their whole life. And what a great twist! While one character is predictably terrible, the others have really tried to better themselves as they aged.

A great thriller that shouldn’t be missed

This book is written from a very Eurocentric viewpoint, a Eurocentric view of what beauty and perfection is, excluding most of the world.
The feel to this tale was very antiquated, full of sexism and misogyny. Women pitted against each other to get the attention of a man? I don't know any friendship groups like this, and can not relate. The writing style is rather predictable and a little dull. I quickly lost interest in the differing descriptions of hair colour and clothing.
I don't feel that I am this writers target audience, I prefer my stories to be of strong, intelligent, independent Women with the emphasis on what they think rather than what they wear..

Having kept a secret locked inside for the last 10 years after the death of a student on her campus, she starts to get strange emails from the dead student and so do her friends from back then.

It a story that flits between the present and the past, an easy enough read. Enjoyed it and like the twist at the end.

I received this book from netgalley in return for a honest review.

This was a good thriller. I was hooked from page one and loved the characters and the dynamics between them. It lagged in a few places, focussing on the POV's relationship with Jason--uh, I did not grab this as a romance novel--rather than the enticing and intriguing happening between her and her old college girlfriends.

This was a good read that kept me engaged until the end. The characters are all great and the plot was really good. There are lots of secrets that would prefer to stay buried but will we uncover them? The story goes from past to present so the reader can really get a good back story. I found the main character was easy to relate to. There are a couple of twists and I did work out who the offender was before the end but I still enjoyed the story. The ending is dramatic and full of suspense. It was a really good read, one that I would recommend.

Thanks for the opportunity to review. Never read any by this author and it was ok. Didn't grip me but also didn't make me close and pick up another book

This was a decent read but didn’t feel super memorable. The story centers on Jules, who receives a vaguely threatening message from a former college classmate who she believes is dead. Turns out the rest of the girls in her friend group received messages as well and they set out together to their college reunion to figure out what really happened. The story goes back and forth current time and 13 years ago when they were in school.

I didn’t find any of the characters in this book to be super likable, and was regularly frustrated with Jules for not talking to her husband about her problems. The stuff that happens when they were in school felt mostly petty to me, and even the meanest stuff just made them look like shallow college kids versus criminal masterminds. There were some surprises at the end and I did enjoy the unveiling of the villain and the wrapping up of the entire story.

Overall, decent read but didn’t really stand out that much for me. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What an amazing read I was totally immersed in it from the beginning. College days should be fun but for four friends it turned out to be anything but. The story centres around friends who share a most terrible secret. When they start getting text messages years later their life will change for ever. Who is sending them and why.
I loved this storyline and the ending is brilliant.

Juliana becomes part of a clique of girls at college, always striving to be liked which means joining in some of the bitchy things girls do to one another. Fast forward thirteen years when a text message brings the group back together all except one, Jenny. She is sending the messages but Jenny is dead! The past is being dragged back into the present and life is about to be turned upside down.
Fabulous thriller that kept me guessing until the last page.

Wow, this was a roller-coaster of a ride. Cleverly written in the past and present it tells the story of a four girls who meet at college and form a tight bond. They go their seperate ways, marry have childen and then each of them receive a chilling text from a girl who died 13 years ago at the college. This is a brilliant psychological thriller which is hard to put down. What really happened and who do you believe? As the girls come together for a college reunion the truth starts to emerge.
The tension and suspense kept me on the edge of my seat. A truly great read.
