Finished this is one go last night and really enjoyed it!

While the ending was predictable, I was still very entertained by the writing and would recommend this

This action packed thriller pulled me in straight away. Four women, five secrets. Each woman has their own secret but they also share a secret. Years ago, Juliana and her friends had covered up a secret, Now, they have all received a text message and the women meet up.

I was hooked. I needed to know who had sent the text messages and why. The pace is fast in this gripping read. The story is told in the then, thirteen years ago, and now format. Juliana, Tori, Nessa and Emily come from different backgrounds and had moved on after the death of their friend Jenny. This well written story held my attention throughout.

Nice and neatly written with thoroughly i likeable characters-in a good way.

I did want to keep reading to find out what happened and found the ending satisfying.

Although I found the book readable and reasonably enjoyable I didn’t feel it stood out from the many similar books that have flooded the market over the last few years. After an initially quite exciting start it plodded along until the very end and then everything was wrapped up a little too neatly.

At times predicable but it didn’t really matter as was a great read with a wide range of characters and was written really well,enjoyable and will definitely read more by this author

Deadly Little Lies is one of my favourite books of 2021 so much so I have given it five stars.

It is a gripping thriller that had me hooked from the get go and I absolutely devoured it.

Juliana (Jules) Daniels is living her best life in New York with her attentive husband, she’s climbing the ladder at her firm as an attorney but she’s harboured a dark secret which she thought was long buried in the past until an email threatens to destroy everything she’s worked so hard for.

How can Jenny send her an email, she’s dead?

What ensues is a trip down memory lane that Juliana would rather not happen but if she doesn’t confront her past how can she have a future?

It definitely has Pretty Little Liars and Mean Girl vibes.

The plot is told in alternating chapters that go back and forth between Jules' college years and the events in the present.

We get to see how Jules crumbled under peer pressure at college desperately seeking validation and approval of Mean Girl Queen Bee Emily and losing sight of who she really is.

The tension builds as Jules reconnects with her former best friends from her college days as they are all being targeted with these emails – can they confront their past and protect their futures?

The final few chapters see the four former friends confronting more than just their memories when they return to College and are faced with impending peril.

Thoroughly enjoyed Deadly Little Liars despite not really liking any of the characters at all!

Wow!!! This novel was,amazing, didn't see the ending coming! So many twists and turns just when you think you've got it, it changes direction.
The premise is friends who share a secret, but also have bigger secrets of their own. Which threaten their carefully orchestrated lives in the present day, none of them can afford to let their secrets get out it would ruin their careers and possibly their marriages. Jules is the main character as it is her the novel focuses on, told in last and present narratives.

Can they save themselves ? Find out who is sending the threatening 'remember me ' emails as well as,sorting out who is telling the truth and who is lying? Are some secrets bigger and more deadly than others?

It reminds me a little of the series Pretty Little Liars. Thank you to Net Galley for letting me read this novel and will be looking out for more from Stephanie in the future. One to highly recommend to friends and family. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!

This was an easy read. I did feel the characters were all pretty unlikeable and did not really come to life for me and to be honest I didn’t really get fully engrossed in the story. I felt the ‘then’ element dragged somewhat and the ‘now’ jeopardy and suspense side was underdeveloped. It was an easy read but unfortunately didn’t wow me. The identity of the blackmailer did fool me though. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read an advance copy.

Not my usual type of genre but I think it’s good to read things outside your comfort zone and I am so glad I did! Was a brilliant book that I couldn’t put down!

This was definitely a good book. The action and thriller starts right away. 4 grown women with 5 total secrets. Each has their own, but it is the one that they have in common that is the doozy. This was getting to be a very good thriller until it became predictable. Such a shame, I saw the big twist coming. Still good reading and writing.

If this author writes another book, I would read it but please, leave the predictability out. Still recommended.

OK, so I liked this book... I might b have c liked it a lot more if I hadn't read 'The girls are all so nice here.'...

Here is a sample of the review I left for 'The girls are all so nice here...if you substitute the name Ambrosia for Jules (who is the main narrator in deadly little lies) the premise is very similar...

Interestingly, the narrator of this book was one of the 'mean girls' which did give you a sense of compassion towards her at certain points. Ambrosia was pulled into a toxic friendship in college which resulted in said drama! She is invited to her college reunion, she doesn't want to go, but her husband Adrian thinks it sounds like fun...Ambrosia knows it will be anything but, especially as someone is leaving cryptic messages for her relating to Ambrosia's time at the college.

I am still giving it 4 stars as I enjoyed it, I just felt I'd already read it.

Suspenseful and disturbing, Deadly Little Lies shows how the past is always with you, even if you try to run far, far away. That is what Juliana “Jules” Daniels has done. She’s a lawyer on partner track and married to Jason, a loving husband. However, she’s haunted by her college behavior years earlier. When she receives an email from Jenny Teller, she knows her past has found her. Jenny can’t have sent the “Remember me?” email because Jenny Teller is dead and Jules knows why.

Her three best friends from Westbridge University have also received that email. As the emails become more threatening the former close friends reunite, trying to solve this puzzle. How can a dead woman now have the power to ruin their lives by disclosing the deep, long hidden personal and professional secrets they have kept. Who would know and who would want to punish them in this way?

The story moves skillfully from past to present, slowly revealing what happened to Jenny and how they all were involved. A dramatic conclusion at a reunion brings a shocking and totally unexpected conclusion to this thriller. 5 stars.

This book instantly grabbed my attention and I was so anxious to know the truth about what happened on the night that their friend died. They’ve kept it a secret all these years, but secrets can never stay buried. There’s so much suspense and you’ll be trying to figure out who is behind the threats. Such a fast paced thriller that will have you turning the pages so fast! When all of the secrets of that night start spilling out you’ll be shocked! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it! This book gave me Pretty Little Liars vibes which made me love it even more!!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a copy of this new read by Stephanie DeCarolis. This was a hard one for me, I liked this book, but felt it was drug out a little long. I felt like it took a really long time to get to what actually happened. I was shocked when I found out who was behind everything, so I was happy about that!! The characters were okay, the storyline was decent, I just felt it was a little long. I’ll be ready to read the next by Stephanie though.

I loved The Guilty Husband and enjoyed this one too. Four college friends are hiding a secret about the death of another you g woman in their group and all have put it behind them except for Jenny, the one who died. How? Texts to the four women years letter threaten to reveal what really happened that disastrous night and what role each of them played. While the plot was clever and the writing top notch I wasn’t really invested in any of the characters and wanted someone to room for, even if it was the bad girl.

Fantastic read. Kept you guessing until the end. Really enjoyable book, couldn't put it down. Four college friends, perfect lives and an email from the past!

A diverse group of girls meet up in college coming from different classes in society. That however is the superficial difference, under the surface of friendship boils feelings of jealousy, inadequacy, intimidation and one - upmanship. A decade latter, having moved on and up in social circles and careers a tragedy from the past comes back to haunt and disrupt their lives. Forced to meet up again, with little trust or feelings of closeness with each other their lives start. to fall apart . We the reader are not privy to what catastrophic incident caused such long term trauma affecting each of them but someone certainly is aware of the circumstances and is ready to get revenge. The premise of a first class mystery is hindered to some extent by implausible situations that often seem unbelievable and incredulous. When the events surrounding the serious incident are revealed the scenario is overdone and far fetched leaving the final denouement one of disbelief rather than a timely conclusion.

INSANE! Un-freakin'-believable!! 😳

I CANNOT believe what I've just read! I NEVER saw that ending coming a mile away. I'm absolutely floored. The who-dunnit was just mind blowing! I lapped this up fast & furious.

Deadly Little Lies ,by Stephanie DeCarolis is a book about the sins of the past resurfacing years later for a group of rather unpleasant individuals.
Juliana Daniels is a high-flying attorney on the verge of being offered a partnership in the legal firm that she works for. Her excitement is tempered by her promotion seemingly being dependent on her committing a crime , and not least receiving an e-mail supposedly from a girl who died when they were at school together. With the mystery e-mailer seeming to know all of Juliana's carefully hidden secrets,even to her work problem that she'd told no-one about, she reaches out to her former closest schoolmates ,who it turns are also experiencing the same thing. Whoever is pretending to be the dead girl has the power to destroy all of them with their in-depth knowledge of the tragic event they were involved in at school as well as personal contemporary ones.

The book ramps up the tension nicely in the 2 timelines,the present where the former friends face ruin at the hands of their tormentor and their schooldays when they were Queen Bees of their college and ,to be blunt,quite horrible individuals. The reader knows they were involved in something very bad but all is only revealed after a slow build up.

This is a good story but I didn't find the ending very satisfactory, just a bit too neat and the characters went from being rather nasty and obnoxious students to rather nasty and obnoxious adults who I had trouble sympathising with .
That aside it's an entertaining read with a clever plot-line and a good way to spend a few hours.

A fairly typical story building from something bad that happened to a group of friends at uni many years ago and the secret coming back to haunt them.
The group of friends are a, slightly cringy, mean girl scenario with questionable behaviours and moral codes and their complex relationships during their college years. They are lead and influenced by a queen bee type character who rules the roost and is very controlling. The boat is rocked, in the present day as we get to know the various characters and their reaction when they start to receive messages from someone they thought was ‘gone’ and seemingly at the centre of the dark memories from the past. This evolves into thoroughly spooking then blackmail as the tension builds.
I quite liked the way the book flicked from past to present and both parts of the story progressed stealthily and fairly slowly because this added to the tension. I found it fairly hard to form empathy with any of the characters, however, or find any of them very likeable. This was compounded by the way some of them kept secrets from their, seemingly, close husbands and felt unable to share their worries, concerns and pasts with them. I also guessed the ending and am always a bit disappointed when this happens. Still definitely worth a read and I’d recommend.
