I had lost my reading mojo, it had been a few months since I picked up my kindle and was drawn in to a book so much I couldn’t put it down.
Then I stumbled upon an ARC for Deadly Little Lies.
The first few chapters held my attention, something that had not happened for a while, and I was hooked.
The story follows Jules, Tori, Nessa and Emily. It’s told in chapters over time periods of “Then” and “Now” Then being during their time at college and now being 13 years later.
Each of the female leads are from different backgrounds and have their own lives in the “now” having moved on from the death of a student during their time at college.
I can’t say that any of them are likeable characters, but they shared a secret, kept hidden from their husbands and lives in the present day which intrigued me enough to overlook the unlikeable characters.
Overall it was a good story, written well enough to hold my attention, and hopefully give me my reading mojo back!

It took going deep into this book for me to care at all about these characters.

Why? Because quite frankly they sounded like (and acted like) privileged white women. Juliana, who is the primary character, is also depressing as hell, always worried about her husband finding out the dirty/deadly little lie from her past. When the past comes up to bite her in the rear, instead of just telling him, she pushes him far, far away, which pisses him off. And rightly so. It's one thing to keep a secret in general. But this is the guy you wanted to spend the rest of your life with, and you don't tell him anything at all?

Not the mysterious text that says "Remember me?" from a college classmate who died. Not the sense that someone has been in your apartment. Not the point you realize it's fact that someone's been in the apartment, not the threat written in lipstick on your bathroom mirror. Not that you never gave your school your address, email or physical, and how the invitation to the reunion showed up. Not the fact that three other women you went to school with all have the same mysterious things happening.

Truthfully, I wanted to chuck it after the nth time Jules starting moaning about her cushy little life with a secret instead of doing anything constructive about it.

The narrative flashes between now and then ("then" being their college days and the bitchy little clique they formed). I had much more sympathy and like points for the men and women they stomped on.

The four women all go to the reunion like idiots, blithely following a note that tells them to be somewhere at a certain time, without any of them letting their husbands know. There's suspension of disbelief and then there's this.

The premise was good. I simply did not like the execution.

This was a well-written story with a half-decent plot, and although I finished it I can’t say I enjoyed it. It didn’t thrill, interest, or excite me in any way. I think it was because the narrative was unbelievable and very predictable, and I just couldn’t like any of the characters even when I tried. They were mainly rich, spoiled, spiteful and silly. I’m sure lots of readers will love the book, but sadly I didn’t. I've given it 3 stars because it's worth more than a 2, and it's not the author's fault that I didn't enjoy it much. Silly thing to say but I think it might have something to do with my age!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish and couldn’t put it down.

I loved the storyline of an American group of girls, a queen B and a death all in one.

This had me hooked and every twist and turn and kept me reading on and on.

It was well written and really captured the audience. I look forward to reading more by this author.

It took me a while to get into this book, as I didn't like any of the characters, and didn't really care what happened to them. However, as the story progressed I found it more compelling, and became completely drawn into the lives of the (still awful) characters. This is a good story, which barrels along full of twists and turns. It isn't particularly well-written and if you are expecting another Secret History (as I was) you will be disappointed, but it's a gripping thriller, which keeps the reader's attention to the very end. I would recommend this.

A solid four star read. Good premise if a little disturbing at times due to storyline. Great characterisation. Plenty of suspense to keep me guessing. Would definitely read her next offering. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

Just read it. You won't regret it and there's no way I can begin to describe how enjoyable it is or how many twists and turns it has. My jaw literally dropped on one occasion! It will have you dipping back into it during every spare second that you have. It's just really easy to let yourself get lost in the story and was a really enjoyable read.

Loved this, what a deliciously twisted tale this was. A terrific thriller that had me turning the pages as fast as I could. Makes you reflect on what it is like to be young and how we all wish to fit in with our peers. It is also reminded me how cruel people can be and it reminded me of some parts of my teenage years although of course not to this extreme. I have not read any of this author's books before but I will definitely be reading more in the future. 5 stars and highly recommended. Slick Suspense…
Swiftly moving, slick suspense. A seemingly perfect life becomes upended when the past comes knocking. Told in a successfully implemented dual timeline with a fast moving storyline and a plot populated with a credible cast and a realistic narrative. A gripping, edge of seat, one sit read.

Juliana has it all, she has the life anyone would envy. Juliana has an incredible career, living in the hottest spot in Manhattan and married to the man of her dreams. The thing is Juliana has some secrets she wished would stay buried.

Juliana receives a message from her past " Remember Me?"

Jenny is dead, it cant be Jenny messaging her? right?

After reaching out to some old college friends, Juliana discovers all of them have received the same message. Only the 4 of them know what happened that fateful night. No one wants to dig up the past.

Is someone lying? Are one of the four out for revenge? After being blackmailed with secrets, things start to escalate.

What happened to Jenny all those years ago? Who is out to resurrect the past and pit these 4 old friend against each other. This is a deadly game and someone is about to get played.

This novel was absolutely incredible! Highly recommend to all my fellow suspense/thriller lovers. Anything short of 5 stars would not be doing this book or Stephanie DeCarolis justice ! I cant not wait to see what DeCarolis comes up with next!

Talk about a thriller that hooks you right from the beginning!

Deadly Little Lies is a fun and fast paced thriller with great characters. This book reminded me a little bit of Pretty Little Liars with the whole "remember me?" text from a friend who was supposed to be dead and I loved that! haha

I loved the dual timelines ... present day trying to figure out what is going on and the past when they were all at college together. Both storylines were equally entertaining! No skimming one part to get back to the other here.

Overall, great read! Highly recommend!

This book didn’t work for me. It’s too fast. And yes this is coming from me, who hates slow thrillers. There’s just no buildup here. It just starts right away.
After a point I just couldn’t continue. Maybe it’s just me. I picked this book because it gave me the “Pretty Little Liars” vibe.
Give it a try, you might like it.

I thoroughly enjoyed Deadly Little Lies, easily a five star thriller! It is a gripping read about a group of estranged college friends who are forced back together when a dark secret of theirs is threatened to be shared. The chapters alternate between Juliana's current time (10+ years after college) and her time in college. The book is fast paced, and I could not put it down. There are a lot of unexpected twists, and the reveals are well-timed and exciting. The characters are well-developed, and I found myself making comparisons to my time in college and the people I met. I highly recommend Deadly Little Lies to anyone looking for a "can't-put-down" thriller/mystery.

Deadly Little Lies is a gripping thriller that had me hooked from page one. This is a I Know What You Did Last Summer meets Mills and Boon type of book, not bad but full of clichés.

An Ivy League university is the setting, and the main characters are rich and to varying degrees, very spoilt. Along comes a newbie, admitted on scholarship, who wants to join in the fun. Jules gets on well with two of the girls, Nessa and Tori, but the queen bee, Emily, is a difficult nut to crack. To impress Emily, Jules starts to forget her roots and becomes a player, treating other lesser mortals like she was once treated.

Needless to say there is tons of intrigue, spitefullness, and general mayhem.

Written across two timelines, 10 years apart, the story follows the main protagonist when she starts getting messages with veiled threats from a dead girl. She then meets up with her old friends to find that they too having been getting the same type of messages.

The story goes back and forth until all is revealed with the longest denouement (snoooooze), until all is clear and sorted. All those years of worry can now be put behind them. Phew!

Whilst I wouldn’t normally read this kind of book, it did keep me entertained on a cold, miserable afternoon, and my only problem with it was that it was far too long.

For a good, light hearted read I would recommend.

This book drew me in at the very beginning. It’s expertly written and the many characters and overall plot were both very interesting. A great thriller novel with nail biting suspense and tons of twists and turns until the very end. I look forward to reading more from this author, highly recommend!!

Wow. You know a book is worthy of five stars when you need to stay up to finish it as there is no way you could sleep without knowing how it ends.

Juliana is a successful attorney, beautiful house, loving successful husband and what appears to be the perfect life. However one text message from an old college friend, Jenny, makes her question everything.....why? Because Jenny is dead and has been for a long time.

This book is told in two timelines as we move between the present day where Juliana and her college friends try to work out who is responsible for sending these messages and also work out how this person can know so much about their lives.

We are also taken into the past when Juliana and her friends are at college and we are led tantalisingly towards Jenny's death and the role which Juliana and her friends played in it.

The pacing of this book was excellent and DeCarolis moved the story along perfectly, teasing out both the present day and past incidents but not dragging it out like some authors can do.

For me, books like this live or die by their ending and this ending delivers in a big way. Everything leads towards a final showdown which will leave you breathless and desperate to find out what happened back then and what is going to happen now.

Get this book but not before clearing your day as you are not going to want to put it down once you start.
