Well! Excellent! Certainly a book for insomniacs- I sat up all night reading this one, just couldn’t put it down. Kate went for an interview which started off as all interviews do, but quickly changed into what was to become an nightmare for her. Joel her interviewer was not quite as he seemed and the interview took longer than Kate had thought!

If you are looking for a fast paced, edge of you seat style thriller then look no further !!

Kate has an interview at 5pm on a Friday. She’s nervous but determined to get it her best shot, as it would be her dream job. When she arrives everyone has left for the weekend so she is alone with the man interviewing her.

Suddenly the interview takes a turn when Kate feels she is being asked inappropriate questions. But this is her dream job, is it a test to see what she will do ? What is the right thing to do ?

I don’t really want to say too much more as I feel it is a book best going into with little knowledge of the plot. What I can saw is that it’s a very fast paced, claustrophobic, edge of your seat style thriller. Not to be missed !!

Wow! The Interview is a heart-pounding, action-packed and propulsive thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I was hooked from the first page and found myself not wanting to put the book down.

I love the author has woven such an intricate and compelling story based on such a unique and seemingly simple premise. The events of the book unfold in less than half a day, allowing for a gripping and perfectly-paced read.

The characters are well-developed, with Kate as a strong and smart protagonist. No frustration or suspension of disbelief over her behaviour and actions at all; she thought of so many things I would have never even considered.

There was also twist after twist, some of which left my jaws dropping because I totally didn't see them coming. I love how tiny details that seem innocuous at first end up playing a significant part in the story.

A thrilling ride from start to end!

This is my first book by C.M. Ewan and I can't wait for more. He might just be my new favourite thriller author.

When you pick up a novel by C.M. Ewan you know you are in for a frenetic read! The pace in unrelenting and it is fantastically enjoyable.

It's late afternoon on a Friday in central London. Kate Harding is rushing to an interview for what she thinks is her dream job. Joel White is an interviewer with some very special skills. As the, rather odd, interview commences and the office empties of staff, Kate begins to feels that something is really not right. To say much more about the plot would create spoilers; suffice to say Joel wants some information and nothing will stop him trying to obtain it.

The plot is clever, the action is really rapid, perfectly suiting the story-line. The characters are well created and the atmosphere is spine tingling.

The Interview is a real roller coaster.

So catchy and I was really intrigued with this novel. We meet the main character Kate who is called in to be interviewed for her dream job. Kate has a tragic past and I really warmed to her as a character. In this so called interview is where the story really takes grips and the reader starts on this non stop journey.

A really great novel that is edgy and fast paced.

Wow this one was pretty awesome! Gripping and kinda claustrophobic in parts it takes you on a rollercoaster journey and doesn’t stop, I think it would make a great movie or Netflix series and I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!!

Take one former air hostess, trying to make the big time in publisity. Aiming literally, for the skies. And, an interviewer with more than just the job vacancy in mind.

An plane manufacturer, in disarray. Following a fatal crash, and more than one claimant looking for compensation due to ill health and a possible link to the cabin pressurisation.

Skip forward, Kate is interviewing for what she thinks is her dream job. The ‘interview’ is being held in a glass cube. The questioning starts normal enough. But things soon start going south for her. As her dead husband, and his role, regarding the planes and crash that are being questioned.

Lets just say, that nothing quite goes to plan, for all parties involved.

Managed to read this in three sittings. It really keeps you wanting more, needing to know just what is going to happen next. Fast paced, and very well written. The pages, really do almost turn themselves.

You can tell from this book the author is a brilliant writer and has a wicked imagination, on that note alone I would like to read something else form this author.
The plot itself was a little to different for my liking and not what I thought it would be.

I haven’t read anything by this author but loved this sound of this book so was so keen to read it. I am sorry to say that I really struggled as I found it dull to read. I wanted to enjoy it, but I just couldn’t get into it and it left me feeling flat. The ending did redeem it slightly

I think most of us will have had a difficult interview over the course of our careers, but CM Ewan’s “The Interview” takes the interview process to a nightmarish level!

This is a mind-blowing psychological thriller and then some. I really couldn’t predict what was going to happen and the pace and raising of stakes made it one of those of books I just couldn’t put down.

Kate arrives at The Mirror building, a new office tower in the City of London, for an interview for her dream job at a leading PR Agency. On arrival she is told that they are running late, then she discovers a different person is interviewing her, which would unsettle some but she takes it in her stride. The interview starts well enough and believes a rapport is developing between herself and the interviewer, Joel. Then comes the psychometric test which starts off conventionally enough before turning into a very different beast where upon the interview deviates from the traditional process. I can’t say much more about the book without spoilers, suffice to say it’s an edge of your seat thriller - buckle up and enjoy the read!

CM Ewan is an author that I’m not familiar with, but based on reading “The Interview” I will certainly look out for his other books.

Wow this would make a fantastic Saturday night movie . This book is not what you think it’s going to be but it is gripping read. You do maybe need to suspend belief just a bit, but it’s a real claustrophobic rollercoaster ride of a thriller that kept me engrossed. I read this in one sitting and loved every minute of it and what a fabulous twist!

The blurb of this had me gripped. Just what could the interview entail?? This book is nothing like you'd think, and for me that was a let-down. Whilst I know it's fiction, it was just very unrealistic and at times frustrating. Great concept, but I think a prequel is needed

The term psychological thriller is perhaps overused but that’s an excellent description of this chilling tale.
The premise is very original and inventive and the plot intensely clever and satisfying.
Interviews are tense and heart racing at the best of times but the way the ordeal of being interviewed was twisted into something so much more intense and frightening was sublime. I worked in recruitment for large companies for many years and so the psychological profiling aspect also really appealed to me. I thought the backstories of the characters worked really well and built up stealthily over the chapters. We were quite a way into the story before I had any clue what might be going on but the suspense was masterful and made the reading experience compelling and exciting. During some scenes my heart was pumping away and I hardly dared read the next sentence but I just had to find out what was going on. The descriptions of grief and other life events were also really insightfully and sensitively written and showed real compassion and understanding. There were also plenty of surprises and shocks. Overall a stunning and thrilling ride of a book, top notch, thank you.

This is a truly action packed and fast-moving thriller. It starts with Kate Harding arriving at The Mirror, an office block in London. Having suffered some personal, and career, traumas, Kate has been working for a small PR company. However, after being approached by recruitment agent, Maggie, she is convinced to try out for a role as a senior account manager at the leading PR agency of Edge Communications.

Kate starts on the back foot, as she arrives flustered and slightly late. Impressed by the vast new building in Central London, she then finds that the interview is being taken by someone unexpected. Before long, she sits across the desk from her interviewer and, from then on, it felt more like an action film than a novel, as things get seriously out of control.

The reader has some flashbacks and gradual understanding of why the situation that Kate finds herself in is happening, as she is forced to confront her past. If interviews push you out of your comfort zone, then the lead character will find herself having to deal with something far worse than awkward questions and embarrassed silences….

This is more than a little implausible, but if you enjoy books that hurtle at speed, with non-stop action, you will surely enjoy this. I received a copy of the book from the publisher, via NetGalley, for review.

This book made me very anxious and claustrophobic. The writing was good and fast paced, although it was a little far-fetched at times. There were moments when I felt that for someone who was meant to be intelligent, she was a bit slow, although I guess we never know how we would react in a tense situation such as this.

This author certainly knows how to tell a story and keep the reader gripped until the very last page. Full of twists and turns and so much tension and suspense. The only negative thing was the story as it comes to the conclusion goes a bit left field and gets quite unbelievable and bizarre. Almost four stars.

The Interview by C M Ewan will definitely make you think twice before you make your next job application!

The storyline is fairly far fetched but moves at a good pace and keeps you fully entertained with nothing being what it seems.

Highly enjoyable

I'm not sure what you would make of this if you rea looking for a job at the moment. This was a fun read. Think of The Apprentice on Acid with a bit of the Taskmaster thrown in. That's just the start.....
The kind of book you can't say much about without giving a spoiler so I would prepare for this book the exact opposite of preparing for an interview in that you should just go in blind.

A thrilling and messing with your mind of read!
