I loved that everything in this book had a beautiful, full color photo. The book did seem to struggle between being a guide on how to put together a board of pre-purchased items and a book of recipes that might happen to go on a board. The pages focused on putting together a board of purchased ingredients would be helpful to someone just starting out, but people who have done boards before are looking for more.
After covering the basics, chapters are Let's Brunch, Let's Snack, Let's Feast, Let's Indulge (desserts), Let's Celebrate, and Let's Entertain.
I did really enjoy the chapter on celebrating/holidays - there were some really cute and creative ideas in there.
Good book for beginners, but if you've done boards this may be too basic.

I love a good food board, and this book gave me even more options. Exciting to try some the next time i'm entertaining.

I read this book because recently I wanted to make a charcuterie board for me and my boyfriend and was lost at the store of what to put on it. It was a very basic meat, cheese, and crackers board. Luckily, I was able to choose interesting enough cheeses and meats that even this basic board was still super tasty! And this book has shown me how to up my game next time. It has lots of different arrangements to base your board off of, including holiday themed ones. Surprisingly, actual appetizer recipes such as shakshuka and chicken wings. I thought this addition was a great idea because I was wondering how they were going to fill an entire cookbook with just cheese boards. Although, I will say the last chapter proved me wrong on that point. There was about five different boards dedicated to Halloween each one standing out from the last. This book is a great guide for making your charcuterie boards more inventive.

If you thought food boards had to only offer cheese and meats you are going to be blown away by the selections in this book. They have covered it all - from breakfast boards, to sweet boards and everything else in between!

Each board is beautifully photographed which gives a perfect visual for setting out your boards. They also come with an ingredients list (and I love that the measurements are included in cups and grams). Some boards even include a recipe so you can make some of the items at home rather than purchasing pre-made.

This book is perfect if you are planning on hosting some get togethers over Christmas, if you have been signed up to bring food for the office party or any other events during the year that would benefit from nibbles.

While this book does contain some recipes, you will mainly find it to be a composition of ideas, a spring board of possibilities. Anna is clear to remind you that there is no right or wrong way to put the board together, and to simply be encouraged by her recommendations to make your own bits and bobs into something as beautiful as they are delicious.
This is a great book for cooks who are new to or hesitant in the kitchen, those looking to learn how to rely less on a recipe, those who need to get out of a dinner rut, and for everyone who loves when their food looks as delicious as it tastes.

Fabulous Food Boards is a beautifully photographed cookbook detailing a trendy topic in entertaining and food presentation. Inspiring ideas for all types of events. My only negative feedback is that not all of the ideas are food boards. at least half of the recipes are simple meal or appetizer ideas that are served on a board or tray. I was expecting more charcuterie ideas.

Fabulous Food Boards by Anna Helm Baxter is so much more than just charcuterie boards. There are so many different kinds of food boards to try out and this book explores than in great detail. The photos are stunning.

This book had a hard challenge ahead of it. Had it been the first book of its kind to come out it would have been great, but I personally found a lack of creativity in the recipes and ideas. That being said I am a huge cookbook addict and nerd who sees one after the other of creative cookbooks in a row. If I step back and I look at this cookbook for exactly what it is, it's perfect for somebody who doesn't really enjoy in depth cooking, but who loves to entertain and wants simple, easy ways to do that. It did have one idea that I really loved that I had never heard of before which is creating a crepe board. That was a smart idea for a handheld delicious meal for entertaining for breakfast. Overall I felt it just had a lot of basic ideas in it which there's nothing wrong with, but it was not for me. I tend to be the person who wants to go crazy in the kitchen. If you're looking for some basic, but great staples, this is the one. If you already have that cookbook and you want to find something that shows things you've never seen before, this is not the right cookbook for you. That being said, the pictures in the layout of the book was very nice.

This is a fun book and was around 3.5 stars for me!

There are beautiful pictures of aspirational food boards. This book is a little different than other grazing board books in that there's not a super in-depth dive into what's on each board and a lot of the breakfast boards are things like pancakes with different toppings or a bagel with different toppings which is really just one thing a few different ways.

That being said they photograph great and there are some fun sweet and savory ideas in this book!

Fabulous Food Boards is a delicious Book that inspires and teaches you how to create all different kinds of food Boards. Whether you are entertaining guests or just want to try something different it has it all.

The book is made up of the following food chapters;
Let's Brunch, Let's Snack, Let's Feast, Let's Indulge, Let's Celebrate and Let's Entertain.
There really is something for everyone.
Not all of the pages are recipe based some are telling you what ingredients to buy to put with other food types to make up the Boards.
I especially loved the Halloween Boards as it's coming up and gave me some inspiration.

The photographs accompanying the food Boards are mouth-watering and certainly eye catching. It's nice to get a visual idea of what to maybe aim for, or as a guide to give the Boards your own artistic flair.

Overall Fabulous Food Boards is an exciting, innovative and inspiring food book that offers a twist on conventional food preparation. I will definitely be having a go at some of the ideas.
If you love food or know someone who is a foodie then this is the perfect gift!

Stunning and appealing! This is a nice mix of both recipes and assembly instructions for various kids of boards. All items have photographs and they're beautiful. The standout is definitely the themed holiday boards--they're very colorful and look so delicious.

This would be great inspiration for anyone who likes to entertain, or even someone who just wants to make a special meal at home for loved ones.

This book was beautiful. The images are gorgeous and I loved that there was an image to go with each recipe/theme board. I appreciated the lists at the beginning (what is needed, tips to succeed), and I found that the book was less about the recipes and more for inspiration and ideas for the making of delightful food boards. I particularly enjoyed the sections for themes based on seasons or holidays.

This book is fantastic! I love all the different ways it shows you to make a food board. Bring a lover of charcuterie that’s typically what I think of when I think food board. This book is so much more! I loved the suggestion that this could get kids excited about eating as I have a picky eater who loves charcuterie! There were some really cute arrangements and recipes in here. I can’t wait to get my copy!

You would think with COVID that food boards would be like a fad …but they seem to really be sticking around. Whether it’s two or twenty food boards are an inspirational way to eat.

What did I like? It’s an unorthodox way of eating. Pickety bits….or snacking with a flair. Food boards suggest a party atmosphere but it can just be two people watching television. The boards themselves are all about pairing foods and are illustrated by great pictures!

Would I recommend or buy? This book delivers a variety of food boards for an array of occasions. I enjoyed looking at the different variations of boards. I would definitely recommend for people looking for this type of decorative food.
