This was so so great. It felt really holiday and Christmasy so again something that could start us off as it’s coming closer and closer to the festive season. Loved this more then I was anticipating!

This book started a little slow and felt juvenile at first. I was a little concerned but I quickly realized the book was written in the perspective of a young girl and I enjoyed watching her mature as the book progressed. It didn't take me very long to get sucked into this book. I had a hard time putting it down. I found the main character to be a bit frustrating but at the same time I was routing for her and Will. I would be interested in reading another book by this author.

This was such a sweet read. The story follows Cat who lives with her father and brother at a marina her dad owns. Will and his family spend their first summer at the marina in 1984 when they are both 11 years old. Cat and Will form a connection right from that first summer and every summer thereafter. Each chapter is a new Summer and the chapter headers set the scene of what's popular that year.
I loved reading about Cat and Will's complicated relationship. This would be such a great book to read during the hot Summer months whether you are by a lake or not.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book for review.

This was such a lovely read. It starts with almost 12 year old Cat in 1984 when she meets just turned 12 years old Will at her father's marina. We watch their friendship grow to various depths every summer from 1984 to 1999. I loved the pop culture references for every year as I am only five years older than the main characters. This is a book of many genres coming of age, young adult and romance to name but a few. I loved how Camille Harte was able to voice an adolescent girl as well as a boy so easily and I loved how each chapter was a different summer by year...I also found the way the author chronicled the year the chapter was titled by what was going on then, it was a really interesting and enjoyable way to start each chapter off. The writing really put you in the story and there was such a nostalgic feeling of time and place. This was a really delightful and entertaining book and I had so much fun reading it...I highly recommend it.

Genuinely enjoyed this! There were a lot of grammatical errors but i loved the atmospheric writing and learning about their slow bound summer after summer
