This is the latest book in the Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan and I did not feel it as much as I usually do the other books in the series. This book started slower then the others and dragged on for me. I did not get into it as much as I usually get into the Josie books. It was good but not great.
I am only giving The Drowning Girls Four out of five stars.

I am delighted to be catching up with the latest happenings in this great series featuring Detective Josie Quinn, written by Lisa Regan. In this thirteenth instalment, Josie from the Denton PD, Central Pennsylvania is gutted when a member of her team, Amber, a Press Liaison Officer, goes missing. Josie is watching tv with her family when there's a knock at her front door; it's Detective Finn Mettner and he's asking for her assistance. There's a body in a dam nearby, but it's not Amber...

Although I dived into this series at book nine, there was enough backstory to really enjoy this novel, The Drowning Girls. It was captivating, and a briskly-paced police procedural with more than enough action taking place to retain my interest. Once hooked, I was glued to the pages and it was a ride of surprises. With its stylish and tense plot, this is crime thriller was an intriguing and emotional mixing of Josie's personal and professional lives. The story effortlessly flowed and there was never a dull moment as the plot beelined for the finale. Josie makes a tough, determined and admirable protagonist and once again, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her. The Drowning Girls contains drama, suspense and tension by the shedload and I highly recommend this immersive novel which will delight all readers, both series stalwarts and new readers. I am eagerly anticipating what Lisa Regan has in store for Josie Quinn next!

I really enjoy this series and I can't believe that number 13 is still as fresh as number 1. This is another great plot and filled with plenty twists to keep the reader engrossed. The developing characterisation is excellent and we see Josie learning to live with the loss of her grandmother and finding strength in her marriage to Noah. Definitely one of the best series around at the moment. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

The Drowning Girls is the 13the book in Lisa Regans series and yet it’s still going strong. Detective Josie Quinn is with her family for the holidays when a member of her team Detective Detective Finn Mett comes to inform her that his girlfriend Amber Watts is missing. Josie is led to a female body that she tried to pull by the hand in the water that ended up not being Amber’s. Josie can’t sleep until she knows where Amber is and who is responsible.
Through twists and turns and clues she keeps finding she is left searching and sleepless. The family seems to be involved in some way but how?
Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen or who did it there was a major twist. The writing is amazing and the plot was so well thought out. Each character was deeply involved. I haven’t read all of the series but I do plan to go back just off of the ones I have read. I’ve missed a few.

This is my first time reading this author, I know it's #13 in a series, my bad.
The story plotline stands alone, though I realise I've missed all the character growth. 2022 will be my year to go back to the beginning as I'm hooked. Detective Josie Quinn is quite well known so I'm guessing she's solved some high profile cases. She and her husband were such likeable characters. I want to know more about them. The story seemed so fresh, so I'm guessing the previous 12 books were just as good. I loved that I had no idea whodunnit or why and the author wove this tale so well.
Great story, I highly recommend it.

Somehow Josie must find a connection between the family’s past history, a mega church that is being renovated, a man who committed suicide and information that was found in Amber’s diary. Josie will have to piece the puzzling clues together if they are to find Amber alive. A very complex and fantastic mystery with an ending that took me by surprise. Loved it! The Drowning Girls by Lisa Regan sees our heroine, Josie Quinn, in a good place. He marriage to Noah Fraley is working well and she is emotionally better than she has ever been. She is recovering from her grandmother's death and beginning to accept that is was not her fault. She has friends and family in her life, although she still has challenges: she can't successfully microwave a bag of popcorn. Her friend and co-worker, Finn Mettner, arrives to ask for her help. His girlfriend, and their co-worker, Amber, seems to have disappeared. He asks Josie to come to Amber's house with him, where he has already broken in and discovered her purse, phone, and coat. He is worried. After lecturing him on the rules he has broken Josie agrees something is off. Then they see a message etched into the frost on her car window, leading them to a local dam, whish is, of course, all locked up, so the drive to the opposite side where they can get closer. There they see Amber's red hair floating in the water. As they try to get to the body, Josie sees a hand waving. She tries to grab her but is not able to hang on. By the time anybody can get to her, she is gone. But, it is not Amber, but someone who looks kind of like her.

Tons of twists and turns make this a Josie Quinn novel. Regan keeps the reader on the edge until the end and them she throws in something extra. It is an excellent police procedural and would almost be believable if these bizarre things didn't keep happening in the same small town in Pennsylvania. Regan draws an excellent character, allowing the read to get to know them in pieces, slowly, almost like one would get to know a new friend. Families come in all shapes and sizes and Regan is a master at developing family relationships than can become good or that can destroy people. She is a terrific writer who writes to hold the readers' attention for the entire book; the entire series. Can't wait to see what's next.

The more they investigate, the more questions they have. What were the number etched on Amber's car windows? What is the list of numbers found hidden in her desk? Who is the dead woman? And why doesn't her boyfriend, a detective himself, not know anything about Amber although they've been dating for a year? Why does everything that Amber did scream secrets and lies?

Josie and her team are going all out to find Amber, find who took her ... and hopefully keep anyone else from losing their lives.

As all books in the series, this is a well-written crime fiction/police procedural. The character development shows the reader a credible, realistic protagonist with emotional depth. The author's characters never disappoint. The plot is somewhat complex, intriguing, and the story line is riveting. The conclusion was explosive ... unexpected and surprising. Although 13th in the series, this is easily read as a stand alone.

The Drowning Girls by Lisa Regan is the first of her books that I have read and I am hooked! The novel draws the reader in with flawed but determined characters, adventure, mystery, intrigue and criminals to hunt and find. Josie and her husband, Noah, along with their colleagues race to find the person behind the drownings of multiple people. On top of that, one of their own, Amber Watts, is missing. She is a member of the family, berifit of morals, that are disappearing one by one. Someone is drowning people. Are they trying to cover up secrets from the past? In what villainous ways have the members of the Watts family behaved and who will pay the price? Throw in a preacher with his own past, a psychologist who died as well and the many husbands of Amber's mother and you have a lot to unfold. An awesome story that immediately draws you in and keeps you involved until the end. I received this as an ARC. My opinions are my own and I gladly recommend this novel

This book is a great addition to a brilliant series.
Josie is asked to help when Amber goes missing. They head to the Dam, following a message left on her car but are shocked at what they find.
A woman is pulled from the water but it’s not Amber.
The hunt continues for Amber and the killer of the other woman.
Josie and the team have lots to unravel as more members of the same family are killed.
They can’t see the link at first but later realise all is not what it seems with this family.
I love Josie and whilst she’s still struggling with her grief, she doesn’t let it get in the way of the case.
Another gripping read in this great crime series.

Lisa Regan is freaking awesome! OMG! I love her!

This book is astonishing and I am obsessed! This is Book 13 and I have to catch up big time. Going to start from the beginning. Totally an addictive thriller. I just finished the book and I cannot find the right words to say. All I know is that everyone should get this book. This should be in every bookstore, shelf, TBR list. Just awesome!

Wow! This is my first book in Josie’s series and I was nervous I would be left behind since it is book 13. I was told it’s best to read this series in order. I may have missed some things but the book gave enough background that I didn’t feel I was missing anything.

I absolutely loved this book. It was filled with action and mystery. When I thought the case was solved, something else came up and there was more to be solved. It was action packed to the very end. I’ve already purchased earlier books in the series and can’t wait to read them.

You will then be taken down a rabbit hole of twists and turns, murder, secrets and lies and a very successful televangelist appears to be at the center of all that is going wrong. Is he a suspect? You will have to read the book to find out more. I love the character of Josie Quinn because she is so fearless. She takes her job to protect the public to the next level. If you enjoy a great mystery with a large suspect pool, you will enjoy this book immensely. I was sucked into this book from the first page. There are fascinating characters in this book that you will love and hate because you do not fully understand the dynamics of their lives until the last pages of the book. You will stay up late into the night finishing this book! This is another great book by Lisa Regan in the Josie Quinn series! I look forward to many more!

This is the first book that I have read in this series and I will look out for more. Great characters, all with interesting back stories. The plot was satisfyingly twisty, with interesting clues for the armchair detective. For me, the stand out character in this book was the evangelist preacher, who could have featured more as his character was so charismatic.

This is such a strong series with great plots and writing and terrific characters to care about, that it’s still going strong after twelve books. Main character, Detective Josie Quinn has certainly been through a lot, especially in the last episode where she lost her beloved grandmother who brought her up. Now she’s married to fellow detective Noah and her life is getting back on track.

Late one evening, young detective Finn Mettner turns up on her doorstep, distressed and worried about his girlfriend, Amber, the police media liason officer. The last time he saw her two nights ago they had an argument and he hasn’t seen her since. He went to her house looking for her and found her car, purse and phone all at home, so he is concerned about where she could be. He also found a strange message left on her car, which Josie follows up only to find a woman who looks like Amber trapped in a dam.

The case is a puzzling one. Who is the woman and what is her connection to Amber? Amber has never talked about her background, even to Finn who says she told him she had been estranged from her family for years. If Josie has any chance of finding Amber, she must delve into her past and unravel the lies and secrets she finds in order to work out what has happened in the present day to cause Amber to disappear. This is a well paced, tense mystery with enough perfectly placed twists to keep you guessing until the very end. A totally addictive read!

When Josie tries to rescue who she thinks is Amber, she soon finds out that the victim although she resembles Amber is not her.

The book takes place just before Christmas, the snow is flying you can feel the cold as the mystery unravels.

Just when I thought I knew the main suspect another major twist and I was wrong again.

Josie Quinn is one my favourite detective series and I can't wait for Book 14 .

Though centered around the Christmas holiday, this story was no cozy. Instead a coworker is missing and a dead body shows up looking like her, but isn't her. Now that is how to start a solid mystery! And the confusion continues from there! Chief Chitwood might be my new favorite character (can we learn more about him please?) after telling Josie that sometimes cases aren't tied up in neat little boxes (or something to that effect). Because, you all know, I am not a fan of tidy endings. Though, I do wish his comment and the related concerns had been voiced just a chapter or two earlier. Needless to say, this story was a mess of secrets, varying degrees of bad guys, and Josie almost getting herself killed. I'm with Noah here: I do wish she would learn her lesson and be smarter about her safety.

The Drowning Girls by Lisa Regan is the thirteenth book in the very popular Josie Quinn Detective Series. I have to be honest, I have not read all thirteen but the last four is more than enough to keep me coming back for more. I definitely want to read the beginning of the series. Lisa Regan is an outstanding writer and excels in her craft. She will take you on a wild ride with so many ups and down and then progresses to twist and turns that leaves you wanting more. It is action packed, mysterious and thrilling! The characters are wonderful and continue to evolve with each new book. This one will keep you guessing although I have learned with Regan’s books not to try to figure who did what and what happens next…..I just keep on reading to find out! Her books are worth the wait and I hope this series never ends. Kudos Lisa Regan on yet another FANTASTIC addition to this series.
