The Josie Quinn series is my book drug of choice, Josie spends time in cold water in this latest one. I hate jigsaw puzzles, but adore putting mystery puzzles together. This one was a doozy. Lying, marriages, a preacher, misdeeds, property, and so much more. I actually gasped when the last culprit was revealed. Regan had very cleverly hidden the person right under my radar. Noah continues to enchant me the way he looks out for Josie. Some headway is made in family relations while another family is irreparably fractured. Read the book to find out the facts behind that statement.

Book release date 10th Dec 2021 Thanks to netgalley, Lisa Regan and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my fair and honest opinions. The drowning girls is Book 13 in the amazing Josie Quinn crime series!

Mettner is concerned that his girlfriend and the teams press liason Amber is missing. He asks Josie for his help, problem is the team realise they know barely anything about her. So when a body is found in the water and Amber's diary is found addressed to Josie with a cryptic code. They have no leads and only Mettner's word that she's missing. Everyone one is suspicious question is how many more murders will happen before the case is solved!

I love this series and I especially love the way Lisa Regan writes. Her prose is so clear and to the point whilst giving room for descriptive text when needed. I must say I was the least connected to this installment compared to others, maybe because its centred around Amber who I barely know and paid very little attention too. So to begin the book wasn't striking for me. However about half way through the book completely turned around for and and the last 3 chapters were utter madness u frigging loved it!

As per usual we get a wider perspective of how Josie is copying following Lynettes recent passing and how she is handling her grief. As well as having her biological family and Henry sprinkled in through the books was great. I also love that I can use Henry's age to know how far the characters are since I started reading this series!

Detective Josie is a great detective and during this case whilst truly having to make hard decisions. I always find this really humanised the Detective Quinn where often in Detective stories the lead us just kicking ass and taking named which is so opposit inspiring I struggled to put the book down.
The case was interesting and the discovery of the body had me on the edge of my seat. Who was it? Well you have to read it! It was great how they basically fit Amber's childhood and why she is how she is. I'm hoping now to love her character as much as I do Gretchen.

We hear less from the side characters in this book but I did find it interesting the way Mettner is being eyed with suspicion, but it was understandable as they had their last killer influencing the case. I couldn't but laugh though as let's be honest I would never like in Denton with all the crime!
Would I recommend this book?

Yes I would recommend the whole series. Its great well written and if your a Lisa Regan books then you will have been waiting for this one just like me. It wasn't my favourite but I can't fault how well written it is! 4 stars 🌟 if you like D.K Hood, Wendy drainfield or Stacey Green then this is the one for you ofcourse start from the first in the series not the 8th as I had done.

The initial part of the book is quite slow and just meanders. But later on the pace picks up and makes it interesting. As always Josie is portrayed as a super woman with the rest of the team just bystanders. The plot and the suspense are good.

This author has done it again. I have been with Josie Quinn from the beginning and get very excited when a new book released. This one is a real workout for the grey matter, actually thought I had it worked out several times and I still got it wrong. Packed with misdirection with plenty of tension and suspense. This is my favourite book in the series so far. I say this each time this author adds a new book to this series. Yes this author is that good. Another fantastic five star read from one of my favourite authors and a MUST READ!!!!!
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.

I ❤️ Josie! In the aftermath of her beloved grandma’s death, Josie is still reeling from her loss. This is another twisty mystery for Josie and team. In reading this book it truly felt like Josie was back albeit a different version of Josie we’ve known from the previous book (and books!) The growth in her character continues to be prevalent in each book. In this book, Amber has disappeared. Mett shows up at Josie’s help, off duty and looking for Josie to be the rogue cop he knows her to be. This is not the Josie he gets - as the team works through the case can they find Amber before it’s too late.
Thanks Netgalley and publisher for the opportunity to read.

I haven’t read any previous books in this series so this might not have been the best place to start. However, I didn’t feel that I was missing anything and the book works perfectly well as a standalone.
It’s a roller coaster ride as Detective Josie Quinn and her team try to solve the murders taking place in Denton. She is a brilliant, strong female lead and perfectly complemented by her husband Noah, who also works in the police department.
The mystery had me gripped from the moment she accompanied a colleague to the home of his girlfriend who seemed to have gone missing and the plot never lets up for a minute. Just when you think that you have got everything sorted out, another detail emerges.
This was a great crime thriller and I am grateful to Net Galley and the publishers for letting me read this ARC in exchange for this review.

The Drowning Girls by Lisa Regan, featuring Detective Josie Quinn, Book 13 is one fantastic read. Heart thumping action, characters that you can relate to and a story that won’t let you down. A knock on the door one cold icy evening with a plea to help a fellow officer find his girlfriend (who is also a co-worker), who he believes has been taken from her house. After a note is found on the missing person’s windshield written in the frost, the story takes off with rapid start that won’t let you go. Twists, turns and family betrayal have you turning the pages late into the night. This is my first experience reading a Lisa Regan book. Although, this is installment 13 of the series, you can read it as a stand alone book. I enjoyed this so much, I’m going back to the first book “The Vanishing Girls”, which I can’t wait to start.
Thank You to Net Galley, the Author Lisa Regan and the Publisher Bookouture for sending me this advanced copy of the Drowning Girls for my honest review.

The Drowning Girls (Detective Josie Quinn Book 13) by Lisa Regan The 13th book in the series focuses on Amber's disappearance and her relationship with Mett. There were so many intricately interconnected components running throughout this book that it was mind-boggling. The ending was unexpected, rest assured there is another page-turning thrilling adventure on the way. Josie and the team are so likeable that they have become like family and it is always exciting to catch up with their personal lives and become involved in their latest investigation.

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Lisa Regan for the opportunity to preview the book.

Book # 13 and WOW another great book in the Detective Josie Quinn series! Every time I start reading a book in this series I feel like I'm back home with family. Following Josie, Noah, Mett, Gretchen and the many great characters in this series keeps me wanting to read every book in this series . I'm not sure how Lisa Regan does it book #13 and I am still captivated from the very first pages. Josie is on the hunt to find Amber and uncovers something much more sinister. One of my favorite series of all times you need to read because your definitely missing out if you haven't read this series. Great characters and just enough suspense and mystery. Perfect!

Another great installment from Lisa Regan. Her Josie Quinn just keeps evolving and getting more interesting with each book and this one doesn't disappoint.

The Drowning Girls, like the others I’ve read in the series, has elements of both a procedural and a thriller. Josie Quiinn and her husband Noah both work for the Denton, Pennsylvania police department. Their latest case hits close to home - Amber Watts, the department’s press liaison is missing, and their newest detective, Finn Mettner, is one of the suspects. I like the way Josie, Noah, and their colleague Gretchen Palmer work together on the investigation. On the personal front, Josie is still learning to deal with a great loss, but is making progress.

The Drowning Girls is the thirteenth book in this series and one of my favorites. I started reading this series with book six and have enjoyed all those I’ve read. Each book has interesting, complex characters and complicated plots that will keep you guessing. The case in this book is very intense, and there are so many twists and turns, there was no way I could anticipate how the investigation would turn out. I highly recommend this well-written, suspenseful book, which I would rate 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5.

I received this ebook from NetGalley through the courtesy of Bookouture. An advance copy was provided to me at no cost, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.

This is my 13th Josie Quinn book, so you can guess what I'm going to say by now. These books are like comfort food and I mean that in the best way. I know the characters well enough already--love you, Trout--but I also know that the story is going to be engaging. Good for me, good for this book.

This is a really good mystery, very original and with lots of twists. Very well written and with great characters, like other books in the series.

What can I say about this series that I have not said before? It is, was and will be a great series you just have to read.

Josie is a great character. What does not kill you makes you stronger, certainly is a saying she knows very well. She has been through a lot. It did not kill her and it makes her very strong. Strong maybe not physically but strong willed and stubborn in the best possible way.

A lead detective without at great team to work with is like a café without beer as we say in Belgium. And isn’t is true? Without their help and support, without superb teamwork, a lot of killers would slip away, unpunished. But each killer who dares to do something in her region, should know by now the best way to act would to surrender immediately. 😉

A wonderful, suspenseful story that had me guessing until the end. I had my eye on the wrong one once again.

I enjoyed it very much. 5 stars for this great book.

Thank you

Book #13 in the Josie Quinn Series!

I said this during my last review, but this is my favorite book series and I will keep reading these books until Lisa stops writing them!

The last book wasn’t my favorite in the series, but this one made up for it! This was an action-packed ride from start to finish!

Lisa is such an amazing writer and I’m so glad she’s getting the recognition she deserves because this series is fabulous! There were so many intricate twists in this one, I suspected nothing!

There still wasn’t as much character development for Josie, but honestly, I’m starting to understand why. In each book, we are getting a small glimpse into how she is healing and evolving as a person. I really appreciate that! I also appreciated learning more about certain characters in the series, some background characters came at the forefront in this one, and it really made me love this community that Lisa has developed.

You can read these as standalones, there’s always a great deal of details to catch you up, but honestly if you can start at Book #1. It’ll be so worth it, I promise! Will always highly recommend this series!

A tangled web of deceit . The numerous characters in this book were all contacted to a variety of crimes that ended in numerous murders. The book just seemed to have so much going on and too many characters to develop a flow for me. Just when the lead detective Josie seemed to have the case unraveled another detail or person emerged. Like her I kept thinking I am missing something. The book just did not engage as I often became disconnected with all the events and characters.

Buckle Up! Josie Quinn fans are in for a wild ride! Whilst trying to celebrate the holidays, Mett shows up at Josie and Noah's home... Amber, his girlfriend and also the police department's liaison, is missing. After assessing Amber's home, and what Mett may or may not have done... Josie calls in reinforcements of Noah, Gretchen, and the absolutely wonderfully "ornery" chief! They are called to a nearby dam where a woman has been left to die... and she has ties with Amber's family that no one seems to know anything about... even Mett. The mystery keeps deepening with Josie wondering what the truth actually is... and also finding ties with her grandmother's death. It's an absolutely fantastic read! Lisa Regan is on top of the mystery genre game! Loved it!!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 (I should give 5 Stars!!!)
Another WOW ~page-turning~ nailing-biting read by author Lisa Regan!
Christmas is coming and Josie is excited about having her parents and her twin sister Trinity staying with her and Noah over the Holidays. One evening while everyone is having an enjoyable get-together, Josie gets a knock her door from the fellow police officer who is worried about his girlfriend and wants Josie to come to help check it out.
Yes! This surely is going to be a Josie Quinn and not a Debbie Macomber kind of a Christmas story.

As the title indicates there are indeed girls who drown. Josie is out to save the missing girl as well find out why these girls are drowning the same terrible way!
Just as we think we have figured it all out~ twists occur that have me saying ~ I knew this was going to be a Josie Quinn kind of a Christmas.
Author, Lisa Regan DOES NOT disappoint!!!
I always enjoy reading the Author’s Note and/or Acknowledgements. In this case, Ms. Regan’s Author’s Note is “A Letter from Lisa”. She thanks us for reading her novel and then tells us that the dam is fictional. Due to Covid she wasn’t able to physically visit dams so had to do a lot of research and visit virtually. I found the dam very interesting as it reminded of my youth. I grew up in a small West Virginia town located on the Ohio River. We had the “Ohio River Lock & Dam No.13”. The area was like a park, you would always find towns’ folk watching as the big barges waited to get through the lock. The dam was built by the Army Corp of Engineers and the site is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places in 1992!
We didn’t have the fish ladder as it wasn’t necessary but I could totally visualize it.

Once again Ms. Regan brings us another page-turner! Looking forward to Josie and her next nail-biting adventure!

Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture ~ for this eGalley. This file has been made available to me before publication in an early form for an honest professional review.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for December 10, 2021.
